  • Patent number: 11622317
Abstract: Techniques and architecture are provided for preventing narrow band (NB) SIMs from being used in a non-NB devices, e.g., high bandwidth devices such as, for example, smartphones, tablets, etc. In configurations, a user device is provisioned based upon a NB international mobile subscriber identity (IMSI), a NB-indicator and a type allocation code (TAC) combination. An IMSI, NB-indicator and TAC mismatch helps prevent NB-SIMs from being used in a non-NB device. In configurations, when a user device attempts to access or register with a wireless communication network via a narrow band network of the wireless communication network, the wireless communication network will verify the IMSI, the NB-indicator and the NB-TAC combination for the user device in order to allow the user device to access the narrow band network of the wireless communication network.

Abstract: The present disclosure describes techniques and systems for beam search pilots for paging channel communications. In some aspects, a user device receives, from a base station of a wireless network, a beam search pilot on a beam. The user device determines that a signal quality of the beam search pilot meets a signal quality threshold. Based on this determination, the user device transmits, to the base station, an indication that the beam search pilot meets the signal quality threshold. The user device then receives a paging channel communication on the beam provided by the base station.

Abstract: Systems and methods are described for testing server configuration across a secured network edge. A server administrator submitting configuration instructions from an external network separated from an internal network by a network boundary device may not have adequate access for proper testing. A test platform within the internal network receives, from a management device in the external network, a test request indicating a client characteristic. The test platform generates a data request with origination information for a source of the data request conforming to the indicated client characteristic and transmits the generated data request to a data server within the internal network responsive to receiving the test request from the management device. The test platform then receives a response to the generated data request and provides, to the management device in the external network, a report based on the received response.

A user identifier of the user that cannot be used to log the user in to a data consolidating system is received by a matching system from the data consolidating system. The validity of the user is checked at the matching system and, in response to the checking, the user identifier is converted to a different user identifier and the different user identifier is provided to a data providing system by the matching system. The data providing system provides the data of the user in response, and the matching system forwards the data to the data consolidating system.

  • Patent number: 11576112
Abstract: During a communication technique, an access point provides a message that includes one or more public land mobile network identifiers of one or more cellular-telephone networks that are supported by the access point. Then, an electronic device, which received the message, provides a candidate list specifying one or more access points that support communication with a cellular telephone network to a radio node that is associated with this cellular-telephone network. By communicating with a wireless-local-area-network (WLAN) controller, the radio node validates the one or more access points, and selects a target access point based on performance feedback from the WLAN controller. Next, the radio node instructs the electronic device to associate with the target access point. Moreover, the radio node and the target access point establish a secure-communication pathway, which allows the radio node to communicate data to the electronic device via the access point using an LTE Wi-Fi aggregation protocol.

  • Patent number: 11570833
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for operation of a dual-connectivity enabled premises device in a wireless communication network. In one embodiment, the methods and apparatus utilize so-called “quasi-licensed” CBRS (Citizens Broadband Radio Service) wireless spectrum in conjunction with a cellular wireless communication network (e.g. having 4G/4.5G LTE and 5G NR base stations) for the provision of services to a number of installed enhanced fixed wireless apparatus (FWAe) at user or subscriber premises. The FWAe has dual-connectivity functionality, and can connect to two different access technologies simultaneously. The FWAe (and base stations) also support a “split” mode of operation wherein each air interface is selectively used for only certain types of traffic (e.g., UL or DL only).

  • Patent number: 11558920
Abstract: A wireless User Equipment (UE) controls a wireless network slice type that has slice requirements. In the UE, source Radio Resource Control (RRC) circuitry exchanges source signaling with a source Access and Mobility Management Function (AMF). During the exchange of the source signaling, target RRC circuitry exchanges target signaling with target AMFs and determines AMF characteristics. The target RRC circuitry compares the AMF characteristics to the slice requirements and selects one of the target AMFs based on the comparison. The source or target RRC circuitry exchange additional target signaling with the selected one of the target AMFs to use the wireless network slice type. User-plane circuitry exchanges user data with the wireless network slice which is controlled by the selected target AMF.
