Internet Protocol (including Tcp/ip Or Udp/ip) Over Fixed Length Packet Network (e.g., Ip Over Atm) Patents (Class 370/395.52)
  • Patent number: 9571380
Abstract: A packet is received at a packet processing element, among a plurality of like packet processing elements, of a network device, and request specifying a processing operation to be performed with respect to the packet by an accelerator engine functionally different from the plurality of like packet processing elements is generated by the packet processing element. The request is transmitted to an interconnect network that includes a plurality of interconnect units arranged in stages. A path through the interconnect network is selected among a plurality of candidate paths, wherein no path of the candidate paths includes multiple interconnect units within a same stage of the interconnect network. The request is then transmitted via the determined path to a particular accelerator engine among multiple candidate accelerator engines configured to perform the processing operation. The processing operation is then performed by the particular accelerator engine.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for informing a network node of a wireless communication network of the presence of logged measurements are disclosed. A first mobile station performs measurements concerning one or more connectivity aspects for the first mobile station in relation to the wireless communication network and stores the measurements in an internal log, where the measurements are performed according to a reporting configuration for the first mobile station. The first mobile station then sends a notification to the first network node regarding the presence of logged measurements in order to enable the first network node to respond to the notification with a request for a logged measurement report.

  • Patent number: 9474015
Abstract: A computing environment containing a mesh network that is adapted to provide a reliable transport mechanism over which services may be delivered. Nodes of the mesh can automatically select routable addresses without conflicts, which allows nodes of the mesh to be accessed, even as the mesh changes through the addition or deletion of nodes. Also, nodes communicate with a protocol that supports service advertisements. These advertisements can identify mesh nodes that supply services, such as file or print servers, for which devices that have not yet connected to the network may be searching. Advertisements can also identify services to be used by nodes in the network, allowing, for example, anode to select a gateway providing a reliable connection to an external network. The mesh network can be used as a transport for communication using protocols, such as TCP/IP, that generally exhibit poor performance when using unreliable transports.

  • Patent number: 8989028
Abstract: The embodiments herein relate to a method in a second node (310) in a visited network (300v). The visited network (300v) is visited by a UE (301). The second node (310) receives a message comprising subscription information. The subscription information comprises a parameter indicating that the UE (301) is allowed to use a multimedia service in the home (300h) or the visited network (300v). The second node (310) selects a serving gateway (308) in the visited network (300v). Based on the parameter, the second node (310) selects a visited PDN gateway (305v), in the visited network (300v) when the UE (301) is allowed to use the multimedia service in the visited network (300v). Based on the parameter, the second node (310) selects a home PDN gateway (305h) in the home network (300h) when the UE (301) is allowed to use the multimedia service in the home network (300h).

Abstract: A traffic optimizer facilitates communication of data packets using a unicast protocol between a server and at least one of a plurality of clients through a multicast network. The traffic optimizer includes a communication processor and a packet processor. The communication processor receives both data including association data and the data packets using the unicast protocol from the server. The association data includes IP addresses of the server and IP addresses of at least one of a plurality of clients available for communication. The packet processor processes the data packets to optimize data transfer in response to an analysis of the data packets, and forwards the processed data packets to at least one of the plurality of clients at respective ones of the received IP addresses through a multicast network using the unicast protocol.

  • Patent number: 8934609
Abstract: A mechanism is described that enables encrypted end-point communications in a VoIP network to be accessed by a service provider. The mechanism includes a session information retrieval component which gathers session information such as encryption keys for each session that traverses a network element. The encryption keys may be used to decrypt data to make it available for lawful interception. A media stream monitoring component monitors media streams and verifies that the identified keys for each session are valid, to ensure continuity in compliance with LI regulations. Advantageously a security alert component may be used to controls further session operation for those sessions identified as potential security risks. With such an arrangement, the service provider can satisfy the legal requirement to provide interception, verify that the accuracy of the legal interception support and take appropriate steps to handle security risks.
