  • Patent number: 11226962
Abstract: In a streaming environment, efficient correlation between base events and relevant follow-on events is accomplished by temporarily storing events in an in-memory state for a limited time window. The in-memory state buffers the incoming stream of events to permit efficient attempted correlation. Successful correlation (e.g., by ID matching) between a follow-on event and a relevant base event, gives rise to specialized aggregation tables for matched (base, follow-on) event pairs. All events are ultimately removed from the in-memory state upon expiry of the time window. This results in correlated matched event pairs being stored in the aggregation tables for efficient querying. Events remaining uncorrelated upon expiration of the time window, are stored only in an (voluminous) log table for less-efficient (but rare) late querying and aggregation. Efficient correlation is achieved by assuming that successful event pair matching is most likely to occur within the in-memory time window, or not at all.

Abstract: In a variable gain amplifier, a base of a bipolar first transistor receives a first differential input signal. The emitter of the first transistor is connected in series between a first resistor and a MOSFET coupled to ground. An output of the amplifier is a current through the collector. The conductivity of the MOSFET controls a gain of the amplifier. A bipolar second transistor receives a second differential input signal, and the second transistor provides a modulated gate voltage to the MOSFET. The drain voltage of the MOSFET is modulated by the first differential input signal and thus undesirably generates distortion. To reduce the distortion, the modulated gate voltage causes the AC component for a certain DC voltage at the drain of the MOSFET to be lowered, improving linearity. Since no current source is used, the amplifier has a large headroom, allowing operation using a low operating voltage.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus relating to network routing protocols to support power savings in network elements. A most utilized link path network topology for a computer network is discovered using a routing protocol such as a Spanning Tree, link-state, or distance vector routing protocol. In view of the most utilized link path network topology, links are identified as candidates for power management under which a power state of the link and associated network ports are managed to save power under applicable link conditions, such as low utilization. Link power-state change conditions are detected, and in response a corresponding change to the power state of a link is effected by changing the power-state of the network ports at the ends of the link. Power state changes include putting a link into a reduced power state, taking a link offline, and powering a link back up.

  • Patent number: 9008115
Abstract: Data streams stored in buffers are modulated by modulation sections. Multipliers multiply the signals output from the modulation sections by weights output from a weight control section. The signals output from the multipliers are added up by addition sections, subjected to radio transmission processing by transmission radio sections and sent through antennas. A buffer control section controls the buffers based on a retransmission count output from a retransmission count detection section. The weight control section outputs weights different from weights at the time of previous transmission to the multipliers every time data is retransmitted. This allows a diversity gain at the time of data retransmission to be increased even if a time variation of the propagation path environment for radio signals is slow.

  • Patent number: 8934405
Abstract: In one embodiment, a method of scheduling transmissions for a base station in a multi-carrier wireless communication network comprises scheduling initial transmissions of data packets for one or more users on a first carrier, without reserving scheduling capacity on the first carrier for retransmissions. Doing so increases the scheduled capacity of the first carrier for initial transmissions. The method further includes scheduling retransmissions, as needed, for given ones of the data packets on one or more second carriers. The method allows more traffic to be scheduled on the first carrier, meaning that multi-carrier transmissions are less frequently needed to convey all of the traffic targeted to one or more receivers. Those receivers therefore spend more time operating with a reduced receiver bandwidth (as compared to the bandwidth required for receiving more than one carrier), which reduces operating power.
