  • Patent number: 11751190
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In one example, a first user equipment (UE) identifies a trigger condition associated with a first communication link with a base station and establishes a second communication link with a second UE. The UE may transmit a relay request to the second UE based on the trigger condition, wherein the relay request instructs the second UE to relay communications for the first UE. The first UE communicates with the base station via the second communication link. In another example, a base station establishes communication links with a first and second UE. The base station receives a data forwarding request that instructs the base station to use the second UE to relay communications between it and the first UE. The base station communicates with the first UE via the second communication link based at least in part on the relay request.

Abstract: Systems and methods for improving data transmission rates in communication networks are disclosed. In an 802.11 wireless communication network, where a source node of the wireless network transmits TCP data to a destination node of the wireless network, the destination node does not transmit TCP acknowledgments (ACKs) for the TCP data if 802.11 ACKs indicate that the destination node received the TCP data. If a source outside the wireless network transmits TCP data to the destination node within the wireless network through an intermediate device, such as an access point, the destination node suppresses transmitting TCP ACKs. The intermediate device transmits TCP ACKs as proxy for the destination node to the source. The intermediate device also suppresses TCP ACKs where a source node within the wireless network sends the TCP data to a destination node outside of the wireless network.

Abstract: A new design configuration of an RF-transceiver front end is proposed. The Power Amplifier (PA) output stage of the transceiver comprises a cascode circuitry of N-type transistors with open-drain-configuration. The cascode-transistor is acting as a common-gate-transistor, whose gate is controlled to block the transmitting-(TX) path. The Low Noise Amplifier (LNA) input stage uses a common-gate configuration of a p-channel MOS-transistor that is controlled by the voltage at the bulk terminal. Lifting the bulk potential of this PMOS-transistor above its source potential disables the receiving-(RX)-path. This design allows low cost implementation for TDMA-RF-transceivers especially for Bluetooth-Solutions. The number of external components is reduced. No additional TX/RX switch is required. The same port and the same matching elements for the antenna's bandwidth adaptation are used for both the TX-path and the RX-path.

  • Patent number: 8665774
Abstract: The invention provides a mechanism for automatically setting reverse link gain or power for a repeater (120) used in a communication system (100) through the use of the reverse link power control of a built-in wireless communications device. By embedding a wireless communication device (430, 630, 700) inside the repeater and injecting reverse link signals of the embedded device into the reverse link of the repeater (124A, 124B), the gain of the repeater is maintained relatively constant. The embedded WCD can also be activated on a periodic basis to make calls and utilize reverse link power-control to calibrate or re-calibrate the gain of the repeater, making it a power-controlled repeater.

  • Patent number: 8626869
Abstract: When sending data, an ECU sends time lag information indicating a time lag that is a difference between time of generating time point at which the data is generated and time of sending start time point at which the ECU actually starts sending the data. When transferring the data, a relay apparatus adds time lag information indicating a time lag that is a difference between time of receiving start time point at which the relay apparatus starts receiving the data and time of transferring start time point at which the relay apparatus starts transferring the data, onto the time lag added on the received data. When receiving the data, an ECU determines for the received data the time of the generating time point that is earlier the time lag indicated by the time lag information of the received data than the time at which the ECU starts receiving the data.
