  • Patent number: 9874911
Abstract: The present principle generally relate to resetting of an electronic device, and particularly, to resetting of an electronic device to factory default of settings if a reset button is pressed for more than a certain amount of time such as, e.g., ten seconds. The amount of time the reset button is pressed is monitored by a bootloader program after a reboot of the processor. The present principles allow the use of the same reset button for two different functions: a normal power off-on reset and a reset to the factory default. The present principles also allow the electronic device to be reset to the factory default even if the main software of the electronic device is locked up (i.e., non-functioning).

  • Patent number: 8892859
Abstract: A hardware based detection approach for detecting a CPU reset request and a CPU boot process that resets control parameters that control operation of the CPU are described. Described embodiments of the hardware based detection approach store a count of clock cycles that elapse while a CPU reset request switch is actuated. As part of the reset process, the CPU retrieves the stored clock cycle count and based on the value of the retrieved clock cycle count, i.e., based on the duration that the CPU reset switch was physically actuated, the CPU boot process resets one or more sets of CPU control parameters to original factory settings.

  • Patent number: 7379523
Abstract: An electromagnetic counter includes an electromagnetic counting mechanism in a frame, a plurality of number wheels at least one of which is configured to rotate through a predetermined angle in response to rotation of an electromagnetically motivated anchor, wherein each of the number wheels is disposed proximate a window provided in the front of a frame enclosing cover to form a readable display section. A mounting board supports a light emitting diode for illuminating the display section, and a wiring pattern that supplies electrical power to the light emitting diode. A reflective surface is provided on at least one of an internal surface of the cover member to reflect light from the light emitting diode toward the numbered wheels, the periphery of one or more of the numbered wheels, and indicia formed in the numbered wheels, to render the number wheels readily readable when illuminated by the light emitting diode.

  • Patent number: 7366275
Abstract: An integrated circuit device having an output driver circuit and a control circuit. The output driver circuit outputs a first signal having a signal level according to a control value. The control circuit is coupled to receive the first signal from the output driver and adjusts the control value by a first increment until a transition event is detected. After the transition event is detected, the control circuit adjusts the control value by a second increment, the second increment being smaller than the first increment.

  • Patent number: 7359475
Abstract: A counter circuit includes a counter section having flip-flops of a plurality of stages. The flip-flops from a first stage to an (N-1)th (N is an integer more than 2) stage synchronously count a clock signal. A mask circuit section controls supply of the clock signal to the flip-flop of an N stage based on outputs of the flip-flops from the first stage to the (N-1)th stage.

  • Publication number: 20030165214
Abstract: Apparatus for counting sheets in stack (17) thereof and inserting tabs (27) between the sheets at predetermined counts, as well as a tabbing method, uses a rotatable counting disc (10) engageable with an edge region of the stack and including a sheet transfer slot (12) to transfer the next sheet to be counted from one face of the disc to the opposed face, upon rotation of the disc. There are means (30) to count the number of sheets transferred and also to advance the disc relative to the stack, as the counting progresses. A tabber (31) is arranged to insert a tab (27) between two sheets of the stack (17) when a predetermined sheet count has been achieved, which tabber (31) projects a tab in a generally radially outward direction with respect to the disc (10), immediately adjacent one face (13) of the disc and in a timed relationship to the rotation thereof.

  • Publication number: 20030072404
Abstract: A revolution counter; includes a base body having a sensor arrangement and a power supply device which supplies energy to the sensor arrangement, and a rotary element connectable to a revolving member and rotating relative to the base body about a rotation axis. The rotary element includes a magnet arrangement, which so interacts with the power supply device that the sensor arrangement is supplied with energy during each revolution of the rotary element in at least three rotary positions of the rotary element regardless of a rotation speed of the rotary element to thereby allow the sensor arrangement to ascertain a rotary position of the rotary element. In order to prevent a transmission of mechanical forces from the rotary element to the base body, the rotary element is positioned with respect to the base body either without connection to the base body, or held by the base body at three-dimensional play.

  • Publication number: 20030072405
Abstract: A revolution counter includes a single sensor which scans movement of a rotary element and generates a raw signal commensurate with a rotary position of the rotary element for ascertaining one of at least three areas of angular ranges. Two of these areas include each a single continuous angular range, whereas a third area includes at least two angular ranges, which interrelate but are separated from one another. A power generation system delivers energy pulses to the sensor, when the rotary element rotates below a minimum value, so that a raw signal can be detected and the corresponding angular range area can be determined. The power generation system and the rotary element are so interconnected as to ascertain for at least part of the thus determined areas of angular ranges, by which of the angular ranges the rotary element is rotated, and to establish the number of revolutions based on the ascertained angular ranges.

  • Publication number: 20030068004
Abstract: A counter unit counts discrete articles that are within a predetermined size range into lots having a predetermined number of articles. The counter unit includes (1) a first conveyor that delivers a flow of articles separated at discrete intervals; and (2) at least one bin positioned to receive articles from the conveyor. The at least one bin has at least first and second outlet gates for emptying articles into separate respective first and second locations. A detector unit detects and maintains a count of articles that are received in the at least one bin and fall within said predetermined size range. The detector unit generates an out-of-size signal when an article received in the at least one bin falls outside said predetermined size range. A control unit causes the first outlet gate to open when the count of articles is equal to said predetermined number and causes the second outlet gate to open in response to receipt of an out-of-size signal.

  • Patent number: 5026973
Abstract: A number wheel counter has a worm wheel connected with the least significant number wheel. A worm gear engaged with the worm wheel is mounted for both rotational and translational movement about a spindle. Cam means are provided such that as the worm gear is rotated, it is also displaced bodily by the cam means so that the worm wheel remains unmoved. At the end of a defined travel of the cam means, the worm gear is returned rapidly to a rest position driving the worm wheel in the manner of a rack and pinion. In this way the number wheels are driven intermittently with the time interval during which the number wheels are between discreet number positions being minimized.
