  • Patent number: 4926455
Abstract: A system and method is disclosed for minimizing residual vibration of a radiographic system due to rapid movement of a radiographic film cassette between a park and expose position. The cassette is moved by a servo system including a servo motor which is responsive to a voltage input waveform to drive the cassette. A waveform is chosen for the voltage input such that no inpulse derivatives appear until the waveform has been diferentiated at least three times. The primary natural resonant frequency of the system is determined and noted. The duration of the selected input waveform is adjusted such that the frequency spectrum of the adjusted input waveform defines a relative null which approximately coincides with the primary resonant frequency. The amplitude of the voltage input waveform is then further adjusted as a function of the distance to be traveled by the cassette between the park and expose positions.

  • Patent number: 4914685
Abstract: A spot film device suitable for use with the radiographic system and having a device for carrying and oscillating a grid which serves to absorb X-rays scattered from an object to be radiographed. Rotation force generated by a motor is used not only to move the grid between radiographic and parking positions but also to oscillate the grid. This enables the grid carrier system to be made comparatively simple in construction. In addition, the grid is oscillated over a certain range by the rotation force transmitted from the motor, so that comparatively high reliability can be guaranteed in oscillating the grid.

  • Patent number: 4489428
Abstract: The invention relates to an X-ray spot-film device comprising two sliding-fixtures. The sliding-fixtures serve inter alia, for the measurement of a film cassette. The measurement of the dimensions of the cassette is performed by means of a single strap which is coupled to the sliding fixtures. The effect of the cassette height on a measurable dimension of the strap differs from the effect of the cassette width. Consequently, the measurement also determines whether the cassette has been inserted upright or sideways.

  • Patent number: 4464779
Abstract: An exemplary embodiment comprises a spot film device, a transport mechanism for the transport of an image layer carrier from a ready position into an exposure position and back, and a speed control for the drive motor. A certain time interval which is essentially caused by the transport operations always lies between triggering an X-ray exposure and the actual exposure of the image layer. In order to facilitate release of the X-ray exposure at the proper point in time, the disclosure provides that the overall transport time of the image layer carrier from the ready position into the exposure position is kept constant independently of the mass to be transported. Additionally, the transport time can also be kept constant independently of the different length of the transport path given sequencing of a sub-division program. An inventive X-ray examination device is particularly suited for employment in X-ray diagnostics.

  • Patent number: 4432095
Abstract: In an exemplary embodiment displaceable clamping jaws mount x-ray film cassettes of varying format for movement into the exposure position. In the case of such x-ray cassette changers it is necessary that the width-definition of the cone of rays corresponds to the dimensions of the inserted x-ray film cassette. The film support, in the case of fluoroscopy, should be capable of being removed from the examination apparatus without difficulties. For this purpose, the disclosure provides that the film support and the clamping jaws are coupled with transmitters which assume positions with respect to a displacement direction of the film support in dependence on the clamping positions of the respective pairs of clamping jaws. Associated with the transmitters are receivers which, together with an actual value transmitter responsive to movement of the film support, are connected to a measured value processing arrangement.
