  • Patent number: 11449885
Abstract: A system may receive information representing a first item and an item price of the first item from a first user device operated by a buyer. The first item may be available for sale by a merchant of a brick-and-mortar store. A plurality of sellers may be identified, the plurality of sellers may list a second item as being available for sale at the calculated reduced item price in an item listing for the second item. Moreover, the second item may be similar to the first item. A reduced item price may be calculated based on the item price of the first item received from the user device, the reduced item price representing a price lower than the item price of the first item. The item listing for the second item available for sale may be presented to the first user device operated by the buyer.

  • Patent number: 10938674
Abstract: Methods and systems for managing the utilization of cloud computing resources are described. The system monitors cloud computing resource utilization for a first set of active jobs to determine real-time utilization data. The system compares the real-time utilization data with historic utilization data to generate a utilization pattern and determines future cloud computing resource utilization for at least one future time period based on the utilization pattern and a second set of scheduled jobs. The system further generates a pricing matrix for utilizing the cloud computing resources during a future time period based on the determined future cloud computing resource utilization. The pricing matrix includes prices associated with utilization of the cloud computing resources for each of the at least one future time period. The system transmits the pricing matrix to one or more devices requesting utilization of the cloud computing resources.

  • Patent number: 10750009
Abstract: Embodiments include a system, method, and computer program product that authenticates a caller using calling party information. In an embodiment, an authentication device receives the call request and associated calling party information that includes a calling party number. The authentication device retrieves parameters associated with the calling party number, where a retrieved parameter is a number of accounts linked to the calling party number. The authentication device determines whether the number of accounts is between one and a threshold value, inclusive, and verifies that the call request originates from a location or a device associated with the calling party number. Based on the verifying and determining, the authentication device generates an authentication result that indicates whether the calling party number is authenticated.

  • Patent number: 10142463
Abstract: Aspects of the invention determining a threat score of a call traversing a telecommunications network by leveraging the signaling used to originate, propagate and terminate the call. Outer-edge data utilized to originate the call may be analyzed against historical, or third party real-time data to determine the propensity of calls originating from those facilities to be categorized as a threat. Storing the outer edge data before the call is sent over the communications network permits such data to be preserved and not subjected to manipulations during traversal of the communications network. This allows identification of threat attempts based on the outer edge data from origination facilities, thereby allowing isolation of a compromised network facility that may or may not be known to be compromised by its respective network owner.

Abstract: In general, embodiments of the present invention involve attaching (e.g., pre-fixing) a Global Signaling Code (GSC) to a called party's telephone number thereby creating a modified Uniform Resource Indicator (URI). This modified URI is then sent in the “TO:” header of a SIP INVITE. The GSC will typically include a geographic indicator corresponding to a geographic location of a caller and a treatment indicator corresponding to a desired treatment of the call. The call will be routed based on the geographic indicator and treated according to the treatment indicator. Illustrative treatments for the call include (among others) voice mail avoidance, a preferred compression scheme for the call, etc.

Abstract: IMS networks, subscriber databases, and methods are disclosed for providing AoC services in IMS networks. The subscriber database is provisioned with AoC indicators for IMS users that subscribe to AoC services. In response to the second register message, the subscriber database identifies an AoC indicator for the IMS user that is registering, inserts the AoC indicator in a third register message, and transmits the third register message to the S-CSCF. The S-CSCF then stores the AoC indicator for the IMS user. If a signaling message is received for a session involving the IMS user, then the S-CSCF will forward the AoC indicator for the IMS user to an AoC application server, which collects the appropriate AoC information and provides the information to the IMS user.

Abstract: An exemplary embodiment provides for a computer-implemented method for rating telephone calls originating from a secure facility. The method includes receiving a destination number, of a called party, for? a telephone call from the secure facility and determining, based on the destination number, if the called party is pre-verified wherein pre-verified includes at least a billing address of the called party. Next, a rate for the telephone call is then determined based on the billing address of the called party, if the called party is pre-verified.

Abstract: A system and method for the real-time management of a device, and more particularly to the establishment and enforcement of policies or rules associated with the feature or functions that may be performed with the device, such as making and receiving calls, exchanging data, playing games and music, sending and receiving email, accessing web sites, and paying for goods and services. If a child or employee is using the device, there may be a need to regulate how that device can be used and to determine who will pay for what goods or services. In addition to providing all of the features associated with a device, service providers need to be able to establish and enforce rules (policies) regulating how and when that device can be used and who will pay for a good or service requested by the user of the device.

Abstract: A system and method for selecting a path for a voice call over an access network from a plurality of access networks. The system includes a call negotiation agent configured to store price information associated with the voice call in which the price information is provided through at least one of the plurality of access networks. According to the present invention, a call negotiation server is configured to store the price information associated with a voice call and store the estimation information indicative of the quality of the access networks after the voice call through the plurality of access networks is completed. The system also performs a call negotiation with at least one network operator in real time using the price information and the estimation information and selects an access network for providing a path among the plurality of access networks.

  • Patent number: 8718604
Abstract: Disclosed is a method and an apparatus for providing an alternative telephony service which automatically switches an originating call between a basic telephony network and an alternative telephony network, and a method of inducing a caller or a receiver to subscribe to a service having a cheaper call rate by notifying the caller or the receiver of an inverse call charge which can be reduced according to whether telephony communication is performed using a basic telephony or an alternative telephony. Accordingly, it is possible to automatically connect the telephony communication using the basic telephony or the alternative telephony according to a telephony communication condition of the receiver, and thus reduce inconvenience due to a direct control of the receiver and first select a telephony communication scheme having a cheap call rate.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide optimization of telephone services through telephone calling plan/card analysis. The least expensive rate is found for telephone calls at any given time and/or date, either through static pre-entry of data, or through dynamic querying of rates via a web-based look-up table, and places calls according to an optimized calling plan. Specifically, in a typical embodiment, an outgoing/target telephone number for an intended telephone call is captured, and a corresponding destination geographic region is identified. Based on the geographic region, a calling plan resulting in a lowest price for the telephone call is identified. This is typically accomplished by consulting at least one table (e.g., call information table) that associates (among other things) calling plans and/or calling cards with geographic regions.

Abstract: A method includes issuing a retrieval instruction, such as a database query, to retrieve from a database system a datum associated with a network circuit established outside of the United States. Upon receiving the datum from the database system, it is determined, based on the datum retrieved, whether the network circuit is incurring a charge. It is further determined, based on the datum retrieved, an amount of revenue generated by the network circuit. When the amount of revenue generated by the network circuit is below a predetermined threshold, a termination instruction to terminate a service associated with the network circuit is issued.

  • Patent number: 8626620
Abstract: Methods and devices for charging a user for access to a service accessible via a communication network are disclosed. At least two charging-related states are defined for the communication network. A tariff proposal entity associated with the user determines one or more tariff proposals for charging the user for accessing the service and sends the one or more tariff proposals to a rating entity. The rating entity analyzes the one or more tariff proposals in relation to a current charging-related state of the at least two charging-related states, wherein it is determined if at least one of the one or more tariff proposals complies with at least one tariff setting associated with the current charging-related state. The rating entity further selects a tariff of the at least one complying tariff proposals for charging the user for access to the service and initiates a charging of the user for access to the service according to the selected tariff.
