A first single hop communication link is established with a peripheral device configured to receive content data. A second single hop communication link is established with a dockee device configured to transmit the content data. Abstract: A docking platform formed for detachable attachment to a largest-surface-area surface of a mobile electronic device. Such a docking platform may comprise a docking accessory connection system having one or more docking connectors, and optionally two or more electrical contacts therein, the contacts electrically connected to an electronics assembly within the docking platform and constructed and arranged to allow electrical connection to detachable docking accessories. The docking accessory connection system is operable to form detachable attachments to multiple independent docking accessories simultaneously. Abstract: A rotary hinge for an electronic device with a cover and a body is mounted between a bottom of the cover and a top of the body and has a receiving assembly, a connecting assembly and a retaining assembly. The receiving assembly is connected to the cover. The connecting assembly is connected to the body and is attached pivotally to the receiving assembly. The retaining assembly is connected respectively to the receiving and connecting assemblies to selectively hold the cover at closed and open positions. With only one pivot between the rotary hinge and the cover, part of the body is exposed to allow the input unit being used when the cover is pivoted to open. Regardless of opening or closing the cover, the rotary hinge is hidden to prevent from damaging and foreign matters.

Abstract: A communication terminal equipped with a sliding-type flat display module includes a main body and a flat display which slides between retracted and extended positions along a first axis relative to the main body and which rotates to a tilted position along a second axis when in the extended position. The first axis may be substantially perpendicular to the second axis. In the retracted position, the flat display is unable to rotate to the tilted position along the second axis. Also, in this position, the display is partially visible to allow information to be read by a user while at the same time being protected within a receiving part of the terminal.

The cradle has a structure such that a tripod screw hole is formed on the bottom surface of the cradle, thereby capable of fixing the cradle to a tripod while the digital camera is being inserted into the cradle. By making the height of rubber pads equal or higher than that of a tripod base, the cradle can be stably placed on a desk or the like.

Abstract: An improved handheld electronic device has a case with an elongated cavity formed therein. An audio transducer is in fluid communication with the cavity, and a number of sound openings are formed in the case and are in fluid communication with the cavity and with the atmosphere surrounding the handheld electronic device. The sound openings are generally spaced from a central region of the audio transducer to space the sound openings generally farther from an edge of the case than the audio transducer. The cavity is configured to form a Helmholtz resonator that enables the communication of sound through the cavity between the audio transducer and the sound openings. The spacing of the sound openings from an edge of a case helps a user to form a seal between the case and the user's ear to enable sound from the sound openings to enter the ear and to be perceived by the user.

Abstract: A telephone set suitable for sending and receiving calls and for affecting a display of call-related information on a user-viewable information display. The telephone set comprises a handset and a base. The handset includes a transmitter, a receiver, and an integrated pointing device. The integrated pointing device is configured to transmit a signal to the base in response to physical manipulation by a user. The base includes a numeric keypad for inputting phone numbers, an input for receiving the signal from the handset, and an electronic pathway that originates from the input and is directed toward the information display such that the physical manipulation of the integrated pointing device will affect the display of call-related information. Preferably, the telephone set is, by incorporation of a network interface, enabled to communicated and share call-related information through a packet-switched network.

Abstract: A telephone apparatus includes a body part and a sleeve-like grip part mounted to the body part for longitudinal slidable movement between a retracted position and an extended position. The terminal includes a first case having a through hole, a guide member fixed to a rear surface of the first case, a slide member having a circular arc shape provided at one side of the LCD module, and a cover member having a circular arc shape fixed to a rear surface of the first case. Arranged in this manner, the slide member can slide along a rear surface of the guide member to an optimal desired viewing angle.

Abstract: A phone appliance and method of use are provided where the phone appliance can be used to make VoIP communications calls. In a preferred embodiment, the phone appliance includes an RF connection for connecting to a computer or other computing device for facilitating the placement of the VoIP communications calls. The phone appliance further includes a display or portal for depicting advertisements provided by various advertisers. The advertisements provided can be used to defray all or part of the cost associated with making VoIP communications calls. The portal can also be used to communicate with businesses for ordering products, such as ordering a pizza, and to perform various services, such as purchasing stocks. In an exemplary system, the phone appliance is used to transmit to a control center information related to the user of the phone appliance, such as interests and buying habits, and queries for receiving additional information for various advertised products and services.

The call initiation signal is used to communicate with a mode-selecting telephony device. Abstract: A device for providing telephone communication and data transfer includes a base unit with a display screen and means for retrieving and displaying Internet information via a DSL connection or USB line, for example. A mechanism for recognizing and verifying handwriting is included for allowing a user to sign his/her name to confirm or validate a sales transaction. A voice recognition mechanism converts and translates speech input to text wherein a hearing-impaired user can read real time text messaging. A mechanism for providing access to an electronic phone directory via a CD ROM drive is also provided. The present invention further includes a handset for allowing a user to communicate via a plain old telephone system. Advantageously, an infrared mechanism for communicating with a portable electronic device is provided wherein a variety of devices employing either infrared or fiber-optic communication technology can send and receive wireless signals to the device.

Also disclosed is a method of managing cellular telephone information associated with a particular cellular subscription, and wherein the cellular telephone information is downloaded from the portable cellular handset to the base unit.

Abstract: A telephone set includes a cradle for receiving a selected electronic device, such as a Personal Digital Assistant (PDA). The cradle comprises a cradle base and a cradle cover coupled to the cradle base. The cradle cover includes a support for selectively securing the selected electronic device thereto. Means for coupling the cradle to the telephone set, which preferably comprises a snap device, is provided. A connector is coupled to the cradle in order to enable communication between the selected electronic device and the telephone set. The cradle can be selectively removed from the telephone set by decoupling the cradle base from the telephone set.

Abstract: Disclosed is a message display method in a mobile communication terminal, which includes the steps of receiving a message, detecting message information from the received message, and displaying detected caller information on LCD by a scroll system. The present invention scrolls message information or message contents on an internal or external LCD automatically r selectively so that a user enables to check a sort of message and caller through an LCD window in direct without manipulating a message check key. Moreover, when receiving a message, the present invention enables to check message contents by a least key manipulation, and particularly, carry out all operations relating to a message using only one hot key for a user's convenience.

The housing assembly also includes a two-way mirror/one-way glass. The glass has a semi-reflective surface mounted in the enclosure. In this manner the semi-reflective surface faces exteriorly away from the visual display. In this manner the semi-reflective surface conceals the visual display until it produces light.
