  • Patent number: 6628784
Abstract: Cellular telephone with a device to protect against radiation generated during its use. It is divided into two groups: a radiation receiver-emitter group (6), consisting of the receiver, the emitter, the antenna (2) and a telescopically extendable support handle for the user, and a personal communication group (7), consisting of the speaker (3); the microphone (4); the keypad (12); the screen (17); and the said casing (5), both of the groups being connected one another via cable or wirelessly. During communication, the radiation receiver-emitter group (6) is distanced from the personal communication group (7), so that the power density of the radiation energy that reaches the personal communication group, and therefore the user, van be less than 0.1 microW/cm2. In the absence of communication, the emitter group can be inserted in a snug manner in a housing provided for that purpose in the casing. It can be used either in individual or collective usages.

Abstract: Inadvertent disconnection between a receptacle and a modular connector is achieved by fitting the connector with a new type of protective sleeve. The sleeve interior defines a first cavity sized to accept the connector and further defines a smaller cavity sized to admit the projecting connector tail. With the connector mated to the receptacle, the sleeve is slid forward. The exposed portion of the connector fits within the first sleeve cavity, and the connector tail fits within and is captured by the smaller cavity. The smaller cavity defines a connector tail capture region that constrains movement of the connector tail. More particularly, the capture region prevents unintended movement of the connector tail in a direction that would release the connector from the receptacle. This arrest feature prevents interruption of the connector-receptacle mechanical and electrical connection.

  • Patent number: 5832081
Abstract: A line cord strain relief attachment assembly facilitates insertion and replacement of a two conductor line cord terminated by relatively small geometry terminal lug connectors, rather than a larger modular style multiconductor connector, such as an RJ-45 plug. The line cord strain relief attachment assembly includes a generally cylindrically configured strain relief element, made of a suitable flexible and waterproof material and having a flange spaced apart from one end of the element. The strain relief element has a diameter proximate to that of a generally circular aperture in a rear wall of the test set. Adjacent to the one end of the strain relief element its cross-section is reduced to form a sloped recess region. A line cord retention wedge has a slot which conforms with the recess region of the strain relief element. The slot is bounded by opposing ramp-configured walls, that are sloped to conform with the sloped surface of the tapered recess region of the strain relief element.

  • Patent number: 5764729
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a tamper protection device for protecting a telephone operated security alarm system. In particular, it protects a conventional security alarm system using telephone service lines from being disabled by an intruder before the alarm system has a chance to function. Telephone service lines are generally accessible from the exterior of the structure. The alarm system is protected by providing an service enclosure having a strong box and a dual conduit assembly to enclose the telephone service box and telephone service lines. The essential conduit assembly has inner and outer slotted concentric conduits to fully protect the service lines. The protection device includes sensors and switches to inform the security monitor before an intruder can disable the alarm system. A vibration sensor is activated when movements of the strong box and conduit occur and a signal is generated to announce the intruder.
