Abstract: Methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture are disclosed to determine the number of people at a location. An example apparatus includes a configuration changer to change a configuration setting of the base station to cause mobile devices to register with the base station, a registration manager to respond to registration requests received from the mobile devices after the configuration setting is changed by storing device identification information for the corresponding mobile devices, and a counter controller to identify a number of the mobile devices at a location of the base station based on the stored device identification information.

Abstract: One embodiment provides for a media playback device comprising a memory device to store instructions; one or more processors to execute the instructions stored on the memory device, the instructions to cause the one or more processors to provide a playback queue manager to manage one or more media playback queues including a set of media items associated with a scheduled event and a playback routing manager to determine an output destination for the set of media items based on context associated with the scheduled event, the playback routing manager to route output of playback of the set of media items to one or more of multiple different connected media playback devices based on the context associated with the scheduled event.

Abstract: Embodiments herein disclose methods and systems for a simple, error free, secure, and controlled information sharing through an audio communication. The system is configured to facilitate the audio communication, generate permanent unique identification number, store map between permanent unique user identification number to the user information to share, facilitate secure and controlled information sharing and easy retrieval of error free shared information through a secure communication mechanism between a client application and a centralized server application. Embodiments herein facilitate user to communicate the permanent unique identification number over the audio communication in place of error free information to be communicated with a caller, by executing the client application and the centralized server application.

Abstract: Implementations are directed to utilizing an assistant to automatically navigate an interactive voice response (IVR) tree to arrive at a target state during an assisted telephone call. The assistant can receive input to initiate the assisted telephone call, identify an entity to engage with, on behalf of the user, and during the assisted telephone call, based on the input, and identify an IVR tree stored in association with the entity. In various implementations, navigation of the IVR tree can be modified based on interaction(s) detected at a client device subsequent to initiating the assisted telephone call. In various implementations, the assisted telephone call can be initiated from a search interface, and the target state can be associated with a given search result. In various implementations, the IVR tree can be dynamic in that only a subset of candidate state(s) of the IVR tree may be available as the target state.

Abstract: Implementations are directed to utilizing an assistant to automatically navigate an interactive voice response (IVR) tree to arrive at a target state during an assisted telephone call. Abstract: A method including receiving, at an infrastructure device from a first device in a mesh network, a request requesting the infrastructure device to determine a communication parameter associated with the first device; configuring an application layer included in a network stack associated with the infrastructure device to: determine the communication parameter associated with communication of meshnet data with the first device, and determine a response including identification information indicating the communication parameter; and transmitting, by the infrastructure device, the response to the first device via a meshnet connection between the infrastructure device and the first device is disclosed. Abstract: System and methods are disclosed that improve the speed, efficiency and usefulness of providing telecommunication service by computerized telecommunication service. In some embodiments, systems and methods described herein enable a user to receive the telecommunication service to a mobile device of the user, such as by adding data service, minutes and/or text messages to the prepaid plan, in response to having an advertisement played on or otherwise delivered via the mobile device. An ad may be displayed or otherwise played on the mobile device or inserted into messages sent by the user via the mobile device for the user to received minutes, data or texts added to their prepaid plan. The service carrier may split compensation received from an advertiser for playing an ad on a customer's device between the service carrier and the customer.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed herein for automatic subscription-based ordering of product components. During display of media content, the system receives a voice input and determines that the voice input indicates interest in a product. The system identifies the components required to create the product and identifies a subscription to an automated shopping service. Upon identifying the subscription, the system determines whether required components are available via the automated shopping service. Further, the system excludes components that were previously purchased via the automated shopping service, and the system automatically places an order through the automated shopping service for the remaining components.

A transaction processor is receptive to an incoming telecommunications initiation request, which includes a recipient node identifier and a nano-transaction payment submission defined at least by a payment amount. The transaction processor responsively directs the establishment of the telecommunications link between the one of the originator nodes and the one of the recipient nodes upon receipt of the telecommunications initiation request. The nano-transaction payment submission is settled based at least in part upon an active duration of the telecommunications link.

Abstract: A gear shifting technique has been developed in which modulation and equalization are shifted to achieve optional performance. In one form, two or more equalizers, each associated with a demodulator and message decoder, determine if the modulation being used can be increased in complexity in order to increase the channel throughput or determine if the modulation method should be reduced in complexity in order to improve the receiver error performance. The quality metrics can based on which equalizer-demodulator-decoder is set to first detect a valid message. Other factors can be considered with this technique such as a packet-error ratio and a signal-to-noise ratio. In a financial trading system, message erasures can be favored over errored messages by limiting the number of bit or symbol corrections permitted per message to less than the maximum possible for the selected decoding schemes.

Abstract: Systems and methods of retailing a retail item to an airline passenger generally include providing an airplane equipped with: an airplane cabin; a plurality of seats disposed within the airplane cabin and partitioned by an aisle; a service cart movable along the aisle; and a digital reader device; positioning the retail item in the vicinity of the digital reader device; reading an item identifier of the retail item using the digital reader device; storing the item identifier in a reader memory of the digital reader device; positioning a digital payment object in the vicinity of the digital reader device, the digital payment object being carried onto the airplane by the airline passenger; communicating information between the digital payment object and the digital reader device; and processing payment for the retail item. The digital payment object may include a physical passenger identifier, a contactless payment object, or a portable user device.

The method further includes determining with a processor a cost of various wireless service plans based on the wireless service usage information, determining with the processor the most cost effective wireless service in response to the determining with the processor the cost of various wireless service plans, and displaying a most cost effective wireless service information in a graphical user interface on a display of the wireless device. A device for implementing the method is disclosed as well.

The method includes retrieving data indicating transmission of electronic content to a plurality of electronic devices within a geographical zone extending between an inner boundary extending around a target location and an outer boundary extending around the target location; receiving data indicating presence of one of the plurality of electronic devices in a target geographical zone, the target geographical zone being located within the inner boundary; determining a time difference between transmission of the electronic content to the one of the plurality of electronic devices and the one of the plurality of electronic devices' presence in the target geographical zone; and determining an electronic device conversion occurred when the time difference is less than a threshold period of time associated with the electronic content.

Abstract: A food and beverage management system adapted to improve the operations of a food and beverage venue, comprising a customer client module, a staff client module, a management client module, and a management control unit. The venue management system is adapted to track and analyze customer and staff activity, assess staff performance, and analyze transaction data received from a POS system. The venue management system allows a manager to assess the operation of the venue by generating real-time summaries and detailed analytics reports for the customer, staff, and venue data, which are displayed via the management client module. The management client module further allows the manager to interact with customers by sending a message or a complimentary menu item, and assign tasks to staff members.

Abstract: Systems and methods for navigating drivers to service transportation requests from a simplified transportation request device are described. Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments for automating the generation of a visualization region for use in visually conveying concepts associated with products or services in an electronic marketplace. In response to a search query, a plurality of concepts that may beneficial in further refining the search query may be determined and may be represented by a plurality of representative items available in the electronic marketplace. Visual identifiers associated with the representative items may be used in the generation of a visualization region for use in further refining the search query to a particular concept.

Abstract: Systems and methods are described herein for a computer-based communication application that displays, along with an incoming call notification, content specific to the parties involved. The application identifies electronic records of events attended by the users, and retrieves content specific to those records. For example, the application may identify electronic mail or meeting notifications sent between the users and concerning a particular subject matter. Images related to that subject matter are then retrieved and displayed during calls between those users. Users are thus presented with customized and personalized content specific to the subject matter of each call, thus helping them better recognize callers and more readily engage with the call.

Abstract: A method for buying and selling vehicles includes receiving information identifying a vehicle, retrieving condition data corresponding to the vehicle from a condition database, wherein a device inside the vehicle generates at least some of the condition data while the vehicle is being operated, and analyzing the condition data to determine a condition of the vehicle, wherein the condition of the vehicle relates to at least one of a quality or a value of the vehicle. Further, the method includes communicating an indication of the vehicle condition to an end user device, and, in response to the indication of the vehicle condition, receiving an offer to purchase the vehicle. A notification is generated based on the offer to purchase the vehicle, wherein the notification indicates a status of a purchase of the vehicle according to the offer to purchase the vehicle, and the notification is communicated to the end user device.

Abstract: A method and system for providing electronic wireless credit card transactions to small businesses in conditions where the wireless telecommunications network is old and/or underdeveloped. The system allows a merchant to accept payment cards firstly via TCP/IP and secondly via SMS and/or USSD wherever only the most basic GSM network is available. The merchant does not need dedicated wireless terminals to do that. With the smartphone app and the peripheral card reader using the novel method, a merchant in the middle of a remote African village or Siberia can accept a payment cards on the spot, right there and then, if basic GSM network is available, but can also use the same devices in e.g. central London with 4G networks. A corresponding software product is also described.

Abstract: Method of facilitating online interactions between voice talent users and second users. Voice talent users upload sample audio files containing voice recordings, and second users can do keyword searches for voice talent users or post jobs that can be searched by voice talent users. A second user sends a partial script to a voice talent user, who makes a voice recording of the partial script and uploads the same. The second user has the option to send a complete script to that voice talent user, and if so, the voice talent users makes a voice recording of the complete script and uploads the same as a final audio file. Upon acceptance of the final audio file and satisfaction of optional milestones established by the second user, a server remote from both users facilitates an electronic transaction between them using the server as an agent for the transaction.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method for facilitating a virtual meet-and-greet between a first client device, a second client device, and at least a third client device is provided. The method involves receiving a first audiovisual stream from the first client device and a second audiovisual stream from the second client device. The method also involves establishing, during a first predetermined period of time, a first private one-on-one video chat between the first client device and the second client device by (i) transmitting the first audiovisual stream to the second client device and (ii) simultaneously transmitting the second audiovisual stream to the first client device. The method further involves terminating the private one-on-one video chat after the first predetermined period of time, and establishing a second private one-on-one video chat between the first client device and the third client device during a second predetermined period of time.

Abstract: A method comprises receiving, by a computer-based system for processing a transaction, a notification that a transaction account holder has taken an action, taking, in near real time, an action in response to the action taken by the transaction account holder, and/or communicating with a web-client associated with the transaction account holder in response to the action taken by the transaction account holder. The communicating with the web-client may occur in near real time.

Abstract: Techniques are described herein for maintaining two copies of the same semi-structured data, where each copy is organized in a different format. One copy is in a first-format that may be convenient for storage, but inefficient for query processing. For example, the first-format may be a textual format that needs to be parsed every time a query needs to access individual data items within a semi-structured object. The database system intelligently loads semi-structured first-format data into volatile memory and, while doing so, converts the semi-structured first-format data to a second-format. Because the data in volatile memory is in the second-format, processing queries against the second-format data both allows disk I/O to be avoided, and increases the efficiency of the queries themselves. For example, the parsing that may be necessary to run a query against a cached copy of the first-format data is avoided.

Abstract: An online system presents a feed of content including content items and one or more scrollable content units to a user of the online system. A scrollable content unit includes an ordered set of content items and a display area presenting fewer than all of the content items of the ordered set at a time. The user navigates through the ordered set of content items in the display area by interacting with the scrollable content unit. If the user navigates through fewer than all of the content items in the ordered set, the online system modifies the ordered set. If the scrollable content unit is again provided to the user, the scrollable content unit presents content items based the modified ordered set. For example, the modified ordered set prioritizes presentation of content items from the ordered set that were not previously presented to the user.

The methods and system also include comparing the particular time requested with a schedule associated with the restaurant. The schedule comprises a list of times that are available for reservation. The methods and system also include determining an availability of the request to reserve; and outputting an indicia that the request to reserve the service has been accepted or denied.
