Line Cut And Shuffle Patents (Class 380/215)
  • Patent number: 9343110
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to systems and methods for synchronizing one or more mediatations with a video timeline. A mediatation may refer to any media content displayed in a separate window from a video stream. Example mediatations include, but are not limited to, portable document format (PDF) documents, text documents, and image documents. Mediatations are associated with a timeline for a video stream. As the video stream is played, different indications of mediatations may appear in a window separate from the window playing the video. A user may then select an indication of a mediatation to display the entirety of the mediatation.

  • Patent number: 9225761
Abstract: Distributed media-aggregation systems and methods to operate the same are disclosed. A disclosed example method comprises selecting a first media segment at a first media device, wherein the first media segment is provided by a first content provider and the first media device is associated with a subscriber, selecting a second media segment provided by a second content provider; obtaining the second media segment from a second media device, where the second media segment represents an alternative to first media segment and substituting the second media segment at the first media device to form a media stream.

  • Patent number: 9178693
Abstract: Example distributed media-protection systems and methods to operate the same are disclosed. A disclosed example method comprises receiving a media stream at a first set top box (STB) via a content delivery system, splitting, at the first STB, the received media stream into at least two portions, allocating, using a processor at the first STB, a first of the at least two portions to the first STB and a second of the at least two portions to a second STB based on a pseudorandom seed, and storing the first of the at least two portions on the first STB and the second of the at least two portions on the second STB.

  • Patent number: 8218764
Abstract: A method for delivering media content in full motion video to users via the Internet in a collaborative media production process is disclosed. The method includes: receiving encoded, production digital media files and a meta-data file; wherein the meta-data file contains meta-data at least from film, video, television, or commercial production or post-production; parsing the meta-data, wherein the meta-data is read by parsing software; associating the meta-data with the production digital media files; and enabling viewing and collaborative interaction with the production digital media files by a user using the collaborative display interface, wherein the collaborative interaction includes interacting with other users during production and post-production by notating comments that includes inserting a link to a specific digital media file and an actual media clip frame using a production time code.

  • Patent number: 7584511
Abstract: At step S372, permission information about video data that are being reproduced is obtained from permission information that represents whether video data corresponding to encoded video data equal to or larger than an access unit are permitted to be secondarily used. At step S373, it is determined whether the video data that are being reproduced have been permitted to be secondarily used corresponding to the permission information. When it has been determined that the video data that are being reproduced have been permitted to be secondarily used, at step S376, the video data that are being reproduced are captured. At step S381, a process using the captured video data is executed. The present invention can be applied to for example a game device that uses a DVD.

  • Patent number: 7218737
Abstract: A method for adaptively filtering a control signal in a serial link includes monitoring for a blanking interval in a video stream having an associated clock signal and monitoring for an occurrence of a VSYNC signal once the blanking interval has started. A control signal is initially detected wherein the control signal occurs subsequent to the occurrence of the VSYNC signal. A set of properties of the control signal are recorded and a set of filter parameters are adjusted for detecting the control signal in a next blanking period based on the set of properties of the control signal.

  • Patent number: 6925181
Abstract: A system controls reproduction of a video transmission between a transmitter and a receiver. The system includes an encryptor with an offset generator adapted to receive the encrypted frame key and to generate a sequence of pseudo-random values for the color component; and an adder coupled to the offset generator and to the color component signal for providing an encoded color component signal. The system also includes a decryptor with a decryptor offset generator adapted to receive the encrypted frame key and to generate a decryptor pseudo-random value for the color component; and a subtractor coupled to the offset generator and to the color component signal for subtracting the offset signal from the color component signal.

  • Patent number: 6888943
Abstract: A system (300, 500) for scrambling digital samples (115, 200, 250, 260, 270) of multimedia data, including audio and video data samples, such that the content of the samples is degraded but still recognizable, or otherwise provided at a desired quality level. The samples may be in any conceivable compressed or uncompressed digital format, including Pulse Code Modulation (PCM) samples, samples in floating point representation, samples in companding schemes (e.g., ?-law and A-law), and other compressed bit streams. The quality level may be associated with a particular signal to noise ratio, or quality level that is determined by objective and/or subjective tests, for example. A number of LSBs can be scrambled in successive samples in successive frames (FRAME A, FRAME B, FRAME C). Moreover, the parameters for scrambling may change from frame to frame. Furthermore, all or part of the scrambling key (310) can be embedded (340) in the scrambled data and recovered at a decoder (400, 600) to be used in descrambling.

  • Patent number: 6859536
Abstract: A video-signal output apparatus performs scrambling, and a video-signal input apparatus performs descrambling. The scrambling and the descrambling are performed so that signal lines are shifted for each period corresponding to one horizontal scanning interval of analog component video signals which corresponds to a horizontal scanning period or for each period which is n times one horizontal scanning period (where n represents a natural number not less than 2). The signal lines are also shifted with timing in a horizontal blanking period of the analog component video signals. When authorization is established as a result of mutual communication between the output apparatus and the input apparatus, scramble and descramble patterns each are determined based on mutually obtained information in the mutual communication.
