  • Patent number: 7933671
Abstract: An electronic data outputting section switches output electronic data from one electronic data to another electronic data. Upon the switching, a sameness judging section judges whether or not audio data associated with the electronic data that is currently being outputted and audio data associated with the new electronic data that is to be outputted are identical to each other. When the sameness judging section judges that they are identical to each other, the audio data outputting section keeps on outputting the audio data that is currently being outputted. This prevents such unnatural audio playback that a sound supposed to be continuously played back is temporarily stopped and then is played back again upon the switching of the content playback.

  • Patent number: 7912227
Abstract: A sound reproducing screen for an ultrasonic converting and reproducing method wherein a sound signal is carried on the ultrasonic wave which is transmitted via the screen which has a lattice structure in which a plurality of cells is continuously arranged. Using the screen, the sound signal can be divided from the ultrasonic wave, so that the sound signal can be reproduced. A cell structure of the screen is thus provided for converting the ultrasonic wave into the sound signal by ultrasonic conversion and reproduction which is simple to make and which has a maximum conversion efficiency. Accordingly, an efficiency of reproducing the sound source in a low frequency band as well as a high frequency band is superior, and a realistic three-dimensional sound system can be implemented.

  • Patent number: 7899194
Abstract: A method for voice communication which includes sensing at least one channel of audio information from proximate a first external auditory canal of a user, sensing at least one channel of audio information proximate a second external auditory canal of the user, and wirelessly transmitting the at least one channel of audio information from proximate the first external auditory canal of the user and the at least one channel of audio information from proximate the second external auditory canal of the user. The method may further include producing a stereophonic audio signal based on the at least one channel of audio information from proximate the first external auditory canal and the at least one channel of audio information from proximate the second external auditory canal. The signal may be stereophonic, recognize right or left, and be tailored to fit the audiometric needs of the user.

  • Patent number: 7899656
Abstract: A virtual speaker demonstration system is disclosed that permits a retail outlet to use a reference speaker to demonstrate the performance of multiple different demonstration speakers. A user interface permits a user to select a demonstration speaker and signal processing is performed so that the output from the reference speaker simulates the output of the selected demonstration speaker. The invention provides benefits to all three of the consumer, the retailer, and the manufacturer. The consumer can listen to and compare multiple demonstration speakers easily and conveniently from the same reference speaker. The retailer to use a single (or few) reference speaker to demonstrate the performance of multiple demonstration speakers, saving costs and space. The manufacturer to be able to display and demonstrate to consumers a broader range of the manufacturer's product line.

  • Patent number: 7805286
Abstract: A sound system design/simulation system includes background noise to provide more realistic sound renderings of the designed space and more accurate quality measures of the design space. The background noise may be provided as a library in the design system that allows the user to select a background noise profile. The user may also provide a recording of a background noise from the built space or from a similar space. The design system converts the recorded background noise to a background noise profile and adds the profile to the library of background noise profiles. The user can select a background noise profile and associate the profile with a specified space. The user can adjust the noise level of the background noise and the design system automatically updates one or more quality measures in response to the change in background noise level.
