  • Patent number: 10992936
Abstract: Techniques are provided to encode and decode image data comprising a tone mapped (TM) image with HDR reconstruction data in the form of luminance ratios and color residual values. In an example embodiment, luminance ratio values and residual values in color channels of a color space are generated on an individual pixel basis based on a high dynamic range (HDR) image and a derivative tone-mapped (TM) image that comprises one or more color alterations that would not be recoverable from the TM image with a luminance ratio image. The TM image with HDR reconstruction data derived from the luminance ratio values and the color-channel residual values may be outputted in an image file to a downstream device, for example, for decoding, rendering, and/or storing. The image file may be decoded to generate a restored HDR image free of the color alterations.

  • Patent number: 10949953
Abstract: Embodiments relate to directional bilateral filtering of a raw image. For each pixel in the image, a block of pixels surrounding that pixel is used for filtering. When the block of pixels in a Bayer pattern have directionality, directional filter coefficients are used instead of default filter coefficients. To obtain a directional tap, a directional filter coefficient is attenuated by an attenuation factor that differs based at least on the location of the pixels in the pixel block. The directional taps are blended with non-directional taps derived from the default filter coefficients using a weight representing confidence on the directionality. The filtered pixel values are then obtained by multiplying pixel values with corresponding taps.

  • Patent number: 10937200
Abstract: In implementations of object-based color adjustment, an image editing system adjusts hue and saturation of a digital image so that objects in the digital image do not appear unnatural. The image editing system quantizes a CIELAB color space into classes that represent pairs of a and b channel values. The image editing system determines probabilities that pixels of a digital image belong to each of the classes, and based on the probabilities, determines a range of hue and a range of saturation for each pixel. An object detector segments objects in the digital image to determine ranges of hue and saturation for each segmented object. The image editing system selectively adjusts the hue and saturation for objects of the digital image based on whether the hue and saturation range for the object include a value of hue and saturation, respectively, selected in a user interface.

  • Patent number: 10885608
Abstract: In implementations of super-resolution with reference images, a super-resolution image is generated based on reference images. Reference images are not constrained to have same or similar content as a low-resolution image being super-resolved. Texture features indicating high-frequency content are extracted into texture feature maps, and patches of texture feature maps of reference images are determined based on texture feature similarity. A content feature map indicating low-frequency content of an image is adaptively fused with a swapped texture feature map including patches of reference images with a neural network based on similarity of texture features. A user interfaces allows a user to select regions of multiple reference images to use for super-resolution. When the local entropy is below a predetermined threshold, the method includes applying a first pre-processing operation to the position that averages features included in the position. The method includes transmitting the pre-processed sensor data corresponding to the position to the receiver.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide systems, methods, and computer storage media for automatically synthesizing a content-aware fill using similarity transformed patches. A user interface receives a user-specified hole and a user-specified sampling region, both of which may be stored in a constraint mask. A brush tool can be used to interactively brush the sampling region and modify the constraint mask. The mask is passed to a patch-based synthesizer configured to synthesize the fill using similarity transformed patches sampled from the sampling region. Fill properties such as similarity transform parameters can be set to control the manner in which the fill is synthesized. A live preview can be provided with gradual updates of the synthesized fill prior to completion. Once a fill has been synthesized, the user interface presents the original image, replacing the hole with the synthesized fill.

Abstract: Techniques for generating maps without shadows are discussed herein. A plurality of images can be captured by a vehicle traversing an environment representing various perspectives and/or lighting conditions in the environment. A shadow within an image can be identified by a machine learning algorithm trained to detect shadows in images and/or by projecting the image onto a three-dimensional (3D) map of the environment and identifying candidate shadow regions based on the geometry of the 3D map and the location of the light source. Shadows can be removed or minimized by utilizing blending or duplicating techniques. Color information and reflectance information can be added to the 3D map to generate a textured 3D map. A textured 3D map without shadows can be used to simulate the environment under different lighting conditions.

Abstract: Embodiments relate to enhancing local contrast in an image. A bilateral high pass filter generates a high frequency value for each pixel of an input image, based on a convolution using photometric kernel coefficients associated with other pixels around the pixel. A noise control circuit generates a modulated high frequency value for the pixel based on a noise model for the image defining a noise threshold value for modifying the high frequency value. The modulated high frequency value for the pixel is then combined with a pixel value of the pixel to generate an enhanced value for the pixel. Enhanced values for pixels of the image may be generated to provide the local contrast enhancement for the input image.

Abstract: Four or more seismic attributes are integrated or merged into imaging formats and displayed for geological interpretation via extended quantization. Multi-attribute integration and classification improves the ability to identify geologic facies, and reservoir properties such as thickness, fluid type, or fracture intensity and orientation. The extended quantization groups up to eight attributes as a single attribute for geophysical data classification. Data group reduction criteria are provided to reveal common geological targets in the data, while preserving small variations or thin layers often found in hydrocarbon reservoirs. By combining multiple attributes, image quality is enhanced while providing analysts the ability to observe channels that might not be visible in any single attribute.

For each of the processing units, pre-filtered pixel values are copied from a respective region of the video frame to the buffer based on a writing point for the video frame and an offset applied to the writing point, filtering is performed against the pre-filtered pixel values from the buffer to produce filtered pixel values, and the filtered pixel values are written to the video frame based on the writing point and the offset. The filtering may be performed using a loop restoration tool, such as where the pre-filtered pixel values are output from a constrained directional enhancement filter (CDEF) tool.
