  • Patent number: 11702248
Abstract: A one-way air outlet channel is disposed inside a vacuum compression bag. The one-way air outlet channel includes an air inlet opening, a horizontal air channel, inclined air channel and vertical air channel and an air outlet opening in communication with one another in sequence. One end of the horizontal air channel is the air inlet opening in communication with a space inside the bag body, and the other end of the horizontal air channel is in communication with the inclined air channel. A bottom end of the vertical air channel is in communication with the air outlet opening, and a top end is in communication with the inclined air channel, such that at least two corner points are formed, at a location where the horizontal air channel connects the inclined air channel and at a location where the inclined air channel connects the vertical air channel.

Abstract: A pressure sensing retractor device and method is provided for measuring orbital compartment pressure of an eye. The device uses nested claw-like retractors where the inner claw retractor is capable of pulling an eyelid of the eye of a patient, and the outer claw retractor is capable of sensing the orbital compartment pressure of the eye. The pressure sensing retractor outputs the force sensor signal as a continuous signal of the orbital compartment pressure of the eye. Embodiments of the invention can be applied towards analysis of orbital compartment syndrome, retrobulbar hemorrhage (RBH), and canthotomy/cantholysis. Unlike applanation tonometry, retractor placement with the retractor provided herein requires no specialized training. Ease of use can help facilitate appropriate clinical decision, especially in environments without immediate access to ophthalmic consultation.

  • Patent number: 11225368
Abstract: A vented sealable bag comprises a container, a two-part seal and a vent. The container has opposing sidewalls and a bottom defining a cavity. The sidewalls form a neck defining an opening opposite the bottom, The sidewalls have an inner surface facing the cavity and an outer surface external to the container and the sidewalls have a thickness. A two-part seal is formed on the inner surface of the sidewalls adjacent the neck. The two-part seal has a hook formed on one sidewall and a clasp formed on an opposite sidewall. The hook and clasp are arranged on the inner surface of the sidewalls to form an airtight seal isolating the cavity from an external environment when the hook is embedded in the clasp but otherwise maintain the opening in the container. A vent is integrally formed in one of the sidewalls. The vent is further comprised of a dimple having a thickness that is thinner than the thickness of the sidewalls.

A gas and liquid sealing zipper is positioned along three of four sides of the enclosure, thereby allowing the apparatus to open in a clamshell or suitcase-like manner, for easy access to the interior of the enclosure. An NBC and/or a CBRN filter can be mounted to the apparatus to allow for release of pressure from within the enclosure. An interior liner made of chemical protective fabric can be placed within the enclosure for additional chemical containment.

Abstract: A pouch air valve used on a sealing pouch comprises a coupling duct and a piercing base. The coupling duct includes a duct, an air valve and a first suction plate. The piercing base has a piercing head and a second suction plate. The first suction plate surrounds and seals the duct to form coupling therewith. The piercing head has an airflow passage running through two sides thereof. The second suction plate surrounds and seals the piercing head to form coupling therewith. The piercing base is positioned at one side of the sealing pouch while the duct is directly aligned and coupled with the piercing head from another side of the sealing pouch so that the piercing head can pierce through the sealing pouch to allow the first and second suction plates to attract each other and anchor on the sealing pouch which serves as separation.

Abstract: A method of making a one-way gas release valve for releasing gas pressure from within a coffee container comprises pre-oiling a relatively narrow dry strap of flexible material and laminating the pre-oiled dry strap between relatively wide ribbons of base and cover material with the dry strap overlying spaced vent patterns in the base material. Alternatively, the base material may be pre-oiled or both the base material and the dry strap may be pre-oiled. The dry strap and base may be made of PET and the cover may be made of mPET. Gas release valves are then die cut from the resulting web with each valve containing a vent pattern. Pre-oiling of the dry strap and/or the base can be accomplished through a roll metered process to insure that the oil is applied in precise amounts and with consistent thickness and coverage.
