Publication number: 20130188891Abstract: Trash bags may be formed to include first and second sidewalls joined along a first side edge, an opposite second side edge, and a closed bottom edge to form an outer bag. A second inner bag may be inserted within the first bag to form a “bag-in-a-bag” type configuration in which the inner bag is bonded to the outer bag along side seals by a continuous process. The bags may also be bonded together along the hem and the draw tape. When the side seals of the inner bag and the outer bag are sealed together by a continuous rather than a reciprocating process, the inventors have surprisingly found that such seals require carefully controlled process conditions to prevent inadequate seals.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 24, 2012Publication date: July 25, 2013Applicant: The Glad Products CompanyInventors: Jason R. Publication number: 20080292223Abstract: A plastic reinforced, gusseted pinch bag. The bag is preferably formed from a sheet of clay coated kraft paper. High quality graphics may be printed on the clay coating. A plastic matrix is laminated to the exterior of the sheet which is then formed into a gusseted tube and separated into sections. Each section is then closed at one end to form bags. The plastic matrix on the exterior of the bags will protect them from tears and punctures and help prevent spreading of any tears that may form. Additionally, the matrix and the adhesive used to laminate the matrix to the sheet will form a plastic coating on the exterior of the bags which will make the bags more resistant to moisture. The preferred adhesive and matrix will be transparent or very nearly so, allowing the graphics on the bags to be viewed without obstruction.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 22, 2007Publication date: November 27, 2008Inventor: Roger Bannister

Patent number: 7275869Abstract: An inner bag for a transport tank is constituted of a doubled tubular film in which a tubular film is inserted into another one. An inner bag supply-discharge opening is thermally welded to an attachment hole formed in the doubled tubular film. When thermally welding one end of the doubled tubular film, a reinforcing film is put on a two-layered portion constituted only of an outer tubular film, so that the two-layered portion has the same thickness as a four-layered portion constituted of the outer and inner tubular films. Thereby, the whole thermal welding line has approximately uniform thickness such that the thinner portion dose not exist. This will prevent the deterioration in sealing property, strength and durability of the thermal welding line caused by rubbing of the thinner portion during transporting and or the application of welding energy to the thinner portion.Type: GrantFiled: January 21, 2005Date of Patent: October 2, 2007Assignee: Fujifilm CorporationInventor: Yoshitsugu Moizumi

Patent number: 4498192Abstract: An improved bag construction, and a method of bag forming, are disclosed which gives an economical yet strong, burst- and leak-resistant closure without the necessity of sewing or use of expensive stepped cut tubes. The bag is formed using a tube having opposed, interconnected front and rear panels, wherein a pair of laterally spaced, parallel cut lines are provided adjacent the top margin of the tube which define opposed first and second marginal flaps respectively in the front and rear panels. In bag-forming operations, the first flap is folded and glued against the outer face of the front panel, and the closure is completed by folding and gluing the second flap over the open end of the tube in a manner to refold the first flap and engage the outer face of the first panel. In another embodiment, a filling valve is inserted between the front and rear panels adjacent the closure end during the bag-forming operation, so as to provide a valve bag.Type: GrantFiled: January 28, 1983Date of Patent: February 5, 1985Assignee: Mid America Machine Corp.Inventors: Arnold F.
