With Integral Funnel Patents (Class 383/36)
  • Patent number: 5030013
Abstract: A bag is provided which is inclusive of a mouth for the insertion of objects to be stored in the bag. The bag is provided with an input section at the mouth to guide the objects via the mouth into the bag. The input section is adapted for being curled in order to function as a closure for the mouth. A retainer is furthermore provided for being hooded over the input section with the latter having been curled thereby to retain the closure at the mouth. A substantially rigid bar of curved form is provided on the bag at the mouth for imparting a curved conformation to the structure to enhance the closure. The retainer is preferably of a pouch-like configuration defining a receptacle to receive the input section in its curled condition. The bag and input section are of a monolithic construction which is of a waterproof material.

  • Patent number: 4997084
Abstract: A system for packaging disposable endoscope sheaths so that they do not become contaminated prior to use during shipment, storage and installation on an endoscope. The packaging system also prevents the spread of contamination after use while the sheath is being removed from the endoscope and then discarded. The sheath is shipped in an elongated, flexible bag having a length substantially equal to the length of the insertion tube of the endoscope and a diameter substantially larger than the diameter of the insertion tube. The sheath and bag may be shipped in a sterile tray having a spiral recess containing the sheath, bag and funnel-like container or bag holding the tubing of the air, water, and suction channels. Installation of the sheath on the endoscope is accomplished by inflating the sheath while it is in the bag so that the sheath expands until it contacts the wall of the bag.

  • Patent number: 4905888
Abstract: The invention concerns itself with a process for providing a package, especially a parallelepiped form like a carton with a holding device or handle which is attached to the wall of the package so that it can be transported. According to the invention a handle is provided which is integrated into package wall, the shape of the handle being defined by a perforated tear line in the wall. The handle is attached to the wall by means of a carrying tape attached to the inner surface of the wall and the inner surface of the handle, the carrying tape being such that free-moving, strap-type, foldable tape sections are formed between the end section attached to the inner surface of the wall and the middle section of the carrying tape attached to the handle. The strap-type tape sections have a layer which covers their adhesive coating or their adhesive has been neutralized and they form, in conjunction with the handle and when the handle is separated from the package, a freely-moving carrying loop on the package.

  • Patent number: 4790029
Abstract: A collapsible bag and method of making it from blanks of a flexible material which are cut from an elongate web substantially without wasting any material between adjacent blanks. Each blank has a circumferentially continuous central portion and four substantially identical isosceles triangular portions at each end of the blank. Adjacent sides of adjacent triangular portions are connected together to provide, when the bag is expanded or filled, generally square ends which are interconnected by generally rectangular side walls. An access opening is provided in an end of the bag by terminating the connections of its triangular portions short of their apexes. Preferably, a spout is received in the access opening and connected to the triangular portions.

  • Patent number: 4736449
Abstract: A flexible container for transportation and storage of bulk material includes integral lifting loops having openings for the insertion of lifting devices. Inside the upper part of the container is fastened a pipe-shaped piece of material having a branch pipe portion, preferably of flexible material, and separating and closing off that part of the container to be filled with bulk material, from the lifting loop. The piece of material is fastened to the walls of the container beneath the openings thereof. The branch pipe portion can serve as a filling spout. The branch pipe portion need not be provided. The pipe-shaped piece of material has a diameter which is substantially equal to that of the container.
