Abstract: An accessory device for safety breathing equipment which comprises a generally triangular bag of impervious flexible material tapering downwardly from a wide closed top at which a handle is provided, the bag having a zip-type fastener by which the filter unit of a respirator can be loosely accommodated and supported in a voluminous upper region of the bag equipped with an inlet valve, with a hose which couples to the face mask projecting from the narrow bottom of the bag which tightly surrounds said hose when the bag is closed around the filter unit by means of the zip-type fastener.

Abstract: This invention provides an insulated carrier for rectangular cardboard wine and beverage containers which have spigot dispensers. The carrier is a rectangular housing formed by an assemblage of panels. The panels have two outer layers of a flat material, fabric or pliable plastic, encasing at least one inner layer of thermal insulation. The panels, including a top panel, a base panel, a back panel, two side panels, and an openable front panel are attached one to the other along edge seams except for the openable front panel. The openable front panel is attached only on the top edge to the edge of the top panel. Both side edges of the openable front panel are removably attached by zippers to exposed edges of the two side panels and removably fastenable at the bottom edge to an exposed edge of the base panel by Velcro brand fasteners or the equivalent.

A tamper evident, and if desired hermetic seal, non-reclosable closure located inwardly from a reclosable closure and located below upper ends of the upper end portions is accessible to be opened when the reclosable closure is open, and the reclosable closure is arranged for interim opening and closing of the bag. The non-reclosable closure may be a peel seal or a tear line. The reclosable closure may be formed from pressure sensitive adhesive.

Abstract: A method of making a beverage packaging bag made of at least one laminar panel which has an inner layer and an outer layer with appropriate portions of the laminar panel bonded and thus sealed together by heating and a plurality of cuts provided in the outer layer to facilitate piercing of a straw through the panel, by directing a laser beam through a mask at the bag.

Abstract: The present invention provides a heavy-duty, multi-wall or multi-ply bag having gusseted sides and overlapping upper sealing edges of the pinch seal type, wherein a quick-opening construction is provided for such bag. The quick-opening construction consists of (a) a slotted portion formed of one or more slots in the outer wall of the bag, within the gusset and adjacent the upper sealed portion of the bag, and (b) a transverse perforated section on the inner wall or walls (plies) of the bag and disposed substantially intermediate the slots in the outer wall. The outer wall may be torn by fingers engaging the slots, and the inner wall or walls may be penetrated by fingers entering the perforations. The entire upper corner of the bag may be hand opened to provide a funnel for quick delivery of the contents.

Abstract: A closable bag of flexible material is provided with a separate inlet member (3) with an opening for filling the bag with a substance, for instance liquid, which inlet member is fastened to the bag. A separate member (7) is arranged for closing the filling opening from inside the bag. The closing member (7) for its closing of the filling opening is arranged for releasable sealing engagement with the inlet member (3), thereby enabling a subsequent partial discharge and reclosing of the bag. The separate inlet and closing members (3, 7) are substantially resistant to deformation and have means (6, 12) for engagement by respective elements of an operating equipment (13-16) arranged outside the bag. The operating equipment includes a filling member connectable to the inlet member, and means for sterilizing a space formed between the filling and closing members.

Abstract: A container having an access opening and a resealable sealing device, the latter consisting of a closure flap which is secured at one end region to the front side of the container and is coated with a pressure-sensitive adhesive to permit the container to be opened and resealed. A pair of cuts are formed in the flap to define a pair of tabs or fingers integral with the one end region of the flap, and a pair of tear prevention holes are formed at the ends of the cuts on the line of attachment of the body of the flap to the one end region thereof, all to prevent the flap from tearing away from the container. Abstract: The invention provides a wine glass or bottle tote having a cylindrical body of self-supporting foam rubber with a longitudinally extending cylindrical central passage having openings at each end for the insertion and removal of articles such as wine glasses or a wine bottle. A cloth cover is provided and a slippery cloth liner extends through the cylindrical opening. A circular cover having a zipper closes each end of the central passage to protect articles inside.

Abstract: A laminate having a first layer of heat sealable plastics material, a second layer of high density plastics, a third layer of high density plastics cross-laminated to the second layer, a fourth layer of foil and a fifth layer of plastics material. A sack or container is also disclosed, which sack or container is formed from the aforesaid laminate.

Abstract: An easy-to-open synthetic resin bag comprising: a bag body constituted by a laminated film formed by laminating several layers of synthetic resin film; a tear string bonded to part of an inner surface of the bag body corresponding to the opening thereof; and a tab formed at an end of the tear string; whereby pulling the tear string by the tab enables one side surface of the bag to be torn open, thereby allowing the bag to be opened. Also disclosed is a bag manufacturing apparatus capable of automatically bonding the tear string to the part of the inner surface of the bag body corresponding to the opening thereof when the bag body is being formed by employing the laminated film of the above kind.

Abstract: A tap for a urostomy or similar bag has a first valve member which includes a male valve element located in a cap. The cap has at least one drainage hole. A second valve member including a tubular female valve element is engageable with the male valve element to close the tap, but is disengageable from the male valve element to open the tap. Flexible and/or extendible diaphragm or sheath is secured to and encloses part of the female valve element in a fluid-tight manner and is also connected to the cap in a fluid-tight manner. The diaphragm or sheath permits relative movement between the two valve members.

Abstract: Two hangable display packages, one being a plastic bag container and the other a cardboard box container, have a separate rigid plastic hanger for hanging on a rod or the like of a display rack. The plastic bag is of a different material than the plastic hanger which is disposed within a pocket formed at the top of the bag with the hook portion of the hanger extending through a hole in the top peripheral edge of the bag, and the bag has layers thereof bonded together slightly below the lower edges of arms of the hanger to entrap the hanger within the bag. A method of forming the hangable package by properly positioning the hanger within the bag and bonding the layers of the bag together while the top edge of the hanger arms are properly positioned against the top peripheral edge of the bag is disclosed.

Abstract: A closed pouch for infusion liquid is made from a continuously extruded plastics hose by providing transverse seals and cutting the hose in said seals, and an assembly of two necks and a filling hose connection is secured to the outer wall of each pouch, said wall being pierced when liquid is to be extracted from or supplied to the pouch through one of said necks. Such an assembly is made from plastics as a unitary structure together with closing caps for the necks and a common flange to be secured to said wall. One neck is provided, at the flange side, with an enlarged bore terminating in a shoulder which is substantially parallel to the flange, and a pierceable sealing pad is inserted from the flange side into said enlarged bore, the latter being eventually closed by the pouch wall.

Abstract: A shrink bag having an integral carrying handle is provided that includes an extended lip bag of a heat shrinkable thermoplastic material and having a carrying hole in the lip with a continuous fused bead around its periphery, the carrying hole being spaced sufficiently below the top of the lip such that upon heat shrinking the bag about a product sealed therein enhanced thickening along the carrying-load bearing portion of the hole periphery occurs relative to the non-load bearing portion of the hole periphery. An associated method for making the bag is also provided.

Abstract: A strip of detachably connected bags for receiving and containing medical supplies and the like includes a plurality of substantially identical bags which are detachably connected in end-to-end relation. Each of the bags includes a seamless tubular wall portion which is sealed at one end thereof and open at the opposite end thereof and has an elongated longitudinally extending slit therein, and an access strip which is preferably made of a semipermeable material is adhered to the exterior of the wall portion for covering the slit. The bags are only connected along one side of the wall portions thereof so that they can be filled while they are still connected utilizing an automated feeding apparatus.

Abstract: A novel soft luggage type hang-up garment bag that includes two major interior compartments having a width and length substantially equal to the width and length of the bag, and two minor interior compartments each having a width about one-half the width of the bag and a length no greater than about one-half the length of the bag, when the bag is in hang-up configuration. The bag is provided with a single width peripheral gusset wall that interconnects the bag's two major sidewalls so that all the major and minor compartments are interiorly of those sidewalls. The bag also is provided with a novel hang-up hook that is retractable into the bag's interior when the bag is being carried, and that is extendable from an end section of the bag's peripheral gusset wall to hang-up the bag.

Abstract: A flexible container for the storage of liquids which incorporates a resealable opening. A flap is temporarily sealed over the opening of the unfilled flexible container. When the container is filled this temporary seal is broken and after filling a permanent heat seal is formed by applying heat externally to the flexible container. The flap is heat sealable on the surface contacting the opening in the container wall but non-heat-sealable on its opposite surface. The temporary seal is preferably a heat activated or pressure sensitive coating which has a low cohesion with the opening of the flexible container wall.

Abstract: A vacuum cleaner bag for use with top loading vacuum cleaner has a first collection tube and a second transfer tube, the tubes having communicating apertures near the top thereof, with a thermoplastic coating on the inner walls of the second transfer tube which is fused together to seal the second transfer tube adjacent the lower wall of the aperture thereof, the top and bottom of the first tube and bottom of the second transfer tube adhesively sealed; and a method for automatically forming the bags by superimposing the two tubes, adhesively securing them together, heat sealing the inner walls of the second transfer tube together, below the aperture, and closing the ends of the tubes.

The sheets are sewn together along a circular line (28) to define an enclosure adapted to receive a quantity of ice (30). The enclosure is provided with an access port (16) which is normally closed either by means of a zipper (20) or by means of a VELCRO closure. In use, the cooling apparatus (10) is placed on the head (32) of a user and is concealed and retained by a cap (34).

Abstract: A sterilizable pouch comprising a plastic web and a paper web marginally heat sealed around all sides thereof, a slit in one of said webs for receiving the package contents and an adhesive strip adhered to the web; said adhesive strip being positioned to cover and seal both lips of the slit, and along with the web to which it is attached forming an assembly which acts as means for opening the slit for insertion of an article.
