  • Patent number: 9067710
Abstract: A remotely openable containment system employs a bag which receives contents such as grounding cement and employs a closure member which is secured by a bale. The closure member is attached to one end of the bag adjacent an opening. End portions of the bag are wound around the closure member and secured by the bale. The bale may include a pair of laterally spaced pins which are received in spaced bores of the closure member. At the installation site, the bag is lowered by a line into a hole. At the bottom of the hole, a line on the bale is pulled to release the bale and to permit the contents to discharge through the opening in the bag. Both the bag and the bale are removable from the hole by the attached lines.

  • Patent number: 8794834
Abstract: A package reclosing strip includes an adhesive layer that extends the full width of a flexible film strip. Formation of a dry edge on the strip, suitable for grasping by the user, is accomplished either by adhering a strip of material such as a dry tape or by the application of a liquid overcoating which chemically deadens the adhesive. The dry edge tape material is preferably made of mono-oriented polypropylene. The film strip is substantially transparent and includes graphics on the underside, beneath the adhesive coating. The graphics show through the film strip, providing visibility of the graphics from the outside.

  • Patent number: 5855434
Abstract: A package reclosure label has a paper base label which is secured by a pressure-sensitive adhesive to the package. A tear resistant synthetic top sheet has a first end permanently adhered to the base sheet and extends beyond the far end of the base sheet to a second end which is secured by a resealable adhesive directly to the package. A generally unadhered central portion of the top sheet is also releasably adhered to the base sheet. The package is reclosed by folding over its open flap and adhering the first end of the top sheet to the flap. The labels are provided for application to packages side-by-side in multitude on a continuous release liner, with the pressure sensitive adhesive of the base sheet and the resealable adhesive of the second end of the top sheet mounting the labels to the liner in production of the labels and prior to application of the labels to packages.

  • Patent number: 5348400
Abstract: The invention concerns a tube-pouch wrap comprising a fin 2 within which two strip edges 3 of the wrapping material are joined together at their inner sides by a peelable cold seal, the junction area including one sub-section 4 at each end of the two edge strips 3 and an unsealed middle zone 5 being present between said subsections. An adhesive label 6 is folded about the fin edge 8 to connect the two edge strips 3 of the fin to close the wrap hermetically and to serve as an opening accessory, said adhesive label covering the middle zone 5 and overlapping the two sub-sections of the fin 2 by bonding to the fin surface. At one side of the fin, the adhesive label 6 comprises a strip edge 11 forming a grip 12 unbonded to the fin surface. Advantageously the fin 2 is so folded on the wrap envelope 13 and bonded to it that the grip 12 is uppermost.

  • Patent number: 4863287
Abstract: A paper bag having a barrier material and a method of coating paper for use in making such a paper bag. The inventive method comprises of the steps of: continuously removing in a direction of travel a strip of paper from a source of paper at a predetermined speed; masking with a liquid impervious mask at least one longitudinal portion of the strip of paper in the direction of travel; routing the strip of paper and the mask through a bath of liquid barrier material, the liquid barrier material substantially saturating the strip of paper except for the masked portion; removing the mask from the strip of paper after moving it out of the liquid barrier material; and forming a selected length of the strip of paper into the bag. The paper bag has at least a front side and a back side each having at least one longitudinal portion extending the length of the bag. • Patent number: 4408643
Abstract: Flexible plastic bags having a closure capable of withstanding external force applied to the bag. The bag has a top opening which may be easily opened and closed by a closure member secured to the exterior of the bag forming a pocket having an opening. The pocket opening extends across a portion of the bag substantially parallel to and spaced from the open end. The open end may be folded over upon itself at least two times or twisted upon itself at least three times and the pocket turned inside out over the end portion to form a closure which is resistant to external forces. The bag of this invention is especially suitable for retaining liquids and gases when an external pressure is applied to the bag.
