Abstract: A transport pouch includes a flap portion and a body portion separated from each other by a folding portion. The transport pouch also includes a front panel and a rear panel, an adhesive closure, at least one removable cover, and a form closure. When the flap portion of the transport pouch is folded onto the body portion of the transport pouch, the flap area of the adhesive closure is adhered to the body area of the adhesive closure, and the form closure is closed, the folding portion of the transport pouch acts as a barrier that prevents billowing of the body portion of the transport pouch, caused by a relative pressure increase in the transport space due to a pressure drop in the surroundings of the transport pouch, from tearing open the form closure and thus from tearing open the adhesive closure.

The integral locking mechanism includes a covering feature with a protected adhesive element and a flap with a mating adhesive element. In the folded position, the flap's adhesive element is placed under the covering feature and securely interlocks with the protected adhesive element. The locking mechanism can be disengaged and re-engaged for multiple reuses. The flap couples to a first side of the bag and extends outward from the bag. The covering feature couples to the first face adjacent to a top portion of the bag.

The peripheral wall has at least two layers and is divided into elongate pockets between the layers, with foldable crease lines between adjacent pockets. Each pocket contains a flexible-walled, insulating gel pack which substantially fills the pocket. The crease lines may be defined by stitching securing the outer and inner layers of the container together. The gel packs may be surrounded by matting, foam or mesh material which is sewn into the lines of stitching, or may have integral peripheral rims sewn into the lines of stitching. The container is foldable between an erect, open condition and a storage condition in which it is folded along the crease lines into a substantially flattened package.

There is a moderately stiff closure belt or strap at the upper portion of the bag. When the bag is to be closed in its waterproof containing position, the belt or strap and the upper portion of the bag is folded over several times, and the outer ends of the belt are brought together to form a loop. This provides a substantially waterproof container. The container is also shown as a containing section of a backpack.

Abstract: This invention is directed to a facial tissue dispensing system which is a portable, flexible pack for dispensing tissues. The portable, flexible pack container is thin yet contains large tissues for cleaning when paper towels or rags are not available. Each of the large tissues is reversibly pre-folded three times onto itself in the lateral direction, and is not pre-folded in the longitudinal direction. The tissues are folded such that they unfold as they are being dispensed through the tissue dispensing opening of the container. After being placed into the portable, flexible pack container, the container is itself folded in half or folded in thirds ensuring the tissue dispensing opening on the top wall of the container is contained inside the fold or folds of the container. In this manner, tissues are kept clean and dry.

Abstract: A resealable closure for a bag is described wherein the bag has upper and lower ends and including a front wall member, a back wall member, and opposite side wall members. The lower end of the bag is sealed in conventional fashion. The upper ends of the wall members are folded downwardly adjacent the front wall member to form a flap which extends across the upper end of the bag with the upper flap being permanently sealed, by an adhesive, to the front wall member except for a flap portion adjacent one of the side wall members. The resealable closure is positioned between the flap portion and the front wall of the bag and permits the flap portion to be opened to form a pour opening in the upper corner of the bag. The flap portion may be resealed by the resealable closure. The closure is designed so that the contents of the bag will not come into contact with any sticky or tacky surface as the material is being poured from the bag.

Abstract: A leak-proof travel bag for carrying items containing liquids, such as personal toiletry products, is provided with a ziplock seal towards the top of the bag. The bag also has one fastener for retaining the top of the bag in a once folded position, and a second fastener attached to a flap for retaining the bag in a twice folded position. Optionally, located inside the bag is an absorbing membrane that prevents liquids that might have become free from their original containers during travel from reaching the two folds that protect the ziplock seal.

Abstract: A method and a packaging system for packaging a sterilizable item for aseptic presentation onto a sterile field are disclosed. The packaging system for the sterilizable item includes a sterilizable flexible elongate tubular member having an outside, a closed end and an open end having a circumference. The item is placeable in the tubular member proximate the closed end. The tubular member includes a border portion having a width, an attached edge and an opposing edge spaced apart from the attached edge by the width. The attached edge is attached to the tubular member proximate the open end along the circumference of the open end and the opposing edge is located proximate the outside of the tubular member. The opposing edge receives thereunder the attached edge of the border portion to enclose the item in the tubular member. The packaging system also includes a sterilizable container for receiving therein the tubular member and the item.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a device for supporting items for use by a law enforcement officer. The device comprises a central container formed of a flexible material in a box-like configuration. The container has large rectangular parallel front and rear walls with small rectangular parallel side walls therebetween. In addition, the container also has a rectangular bottom wall with peripheral edges coupled to the lower edges of the front, rear and side walls. The container also has a vertically disposed divider wall coupling the front, rear and bottom walls parallel with the side walls forming two regions. A pair of laterally disposed upper flaps as an upward extension from the upper extent of the rear wall are adapted to cover the upper edges of the front, rear and side walls for selectively opening and closing access to the regions of the container.

Sleeping bag cover (11) is configured to receive a standard rectangular sleeping bag (1) in its unrolled position and the automatic closure system (21) configured to latch automatically in response to the sleeping bag being rolled up into its normal storage position. The automatic closure system has strategically placed fabric hook and latch fasteners (22) and (23), more commonly known by its brand name VELCRO.TM.. Here, a pair of first portions of fabric hook and closure fastener (22) are fixed at points on the upper sky facing surface (16) of head panel portion (15), each toward the marginal side edges of the head panel portion.

Abstract: A paper bag particularly adapted for the packaging of carryout food items such as hamburgers and chicken. The bag is of a unitary construction and includes two inwardly folded bellows panels on its sides, each bellows joining respective sides of the bag. A fold line is positioned below the top, free edges of the side walls. A pair of spaced cuts is located substantially midway of respective fold lines, each cut of each pair extending from above to below its respective fold line, the individual cuts being spaced from each other along the fold line. Respective areas of the front and rear bag walls above the fold line carry indicia, such as printed indicia, to indicate the bag contents. After folding the top of the bag about the fold lines and against either side walls, one or the other indicia is visible to indicate the bag contents. The bag top is inhibited from opening after such folding by distorting the paper between the cuts to effect a latching action.

Abstract: A bag having a closeable flap portion, and a method of manufacturing same, are disclosed. The bag includes first and second panel portions, and a top flap portion extending from and integral to the second panel portion along a fold line adjacent to an opening between the first and second panel portions. The inner surfaces of the first and second panel portions have surface characteristics rendering them capable of being firmly heat sealed together along the side edges thereof, while the outer surfaces of at least the second panel portion and of the flap portion along the side edges have surface characteristics rendering them capable of only being weakly heat sealed together. The flap portion is initially folded onto the outer surface of the second panel portion and is held thereinplace along the side edges by means of a weakened seam achieved by virtue of heat sealing of the side edges of the first and second panel portions and the flap portion.

Edges of the package at the mouth are foldable over each other to close the mouth. Abstract: A bag for containing a flowable product comprises a plurality of panels hingedly coupled along fold lines, an opening at one end of the bag, and a flap hingedly coupled to one panel along a fold line for overlapping an opposite panel and closing the opening. An adhesive layer extends across the entire width of the flap to seal the flap to the opposite panel. The adhesive layer seal has a reduced bonding strength adjacent one end of the flap to facilitate opening of the flap at the reduced bond strength section. The flap after being sealed to the opposite panel, is reversely bent 180.degree. along with the sealed opposite panel about a lower fold line and portions of the fold extending inwardly from opposed distal ends of the bag are either adhesively tacked or stapled to the one panel to form a finger grip handle therebetween for carrying the bag and its contents.

Abstract: A bag for containing a flowable product comprises a plurality of panels hingedly coupled along fold lines, an opening at one end of the bag, and a flap hingedly coupled to one panel along a fold line for overlapping an opposite panel and closing the opening. An adhesive layer extends across the entire width of the flap to seal the flap to the opposite panel which is provided with an adhesive coating comprising kaolin clay, to facilitate opening of the bag, but which provides sufficient bond strength during shipment and handling to preclude inadvertent opening of the bag.

Abstract: A resealable bag for containing a flowable product comprises a plurality of panels hingedly coupled along fold lines, an opening at one end of the bag, a flap hingedly coupled to one panel along a fold line for overlapping an opposite panel and closing the opening, and a strip of adhesive tape for opening and resealing the flap. An adhesive layer extends across the entire width of the flap to seal the flap to the opposite panel. The adhesive layer seal can have a reduced bonding strength adjacent one end of the flap to facilitate opening of the flap at the reduced bond strength section. The reduced bonding strength is provided by an abhesive coating comprising kaolin clay. This arrangement is particularly useful in heavy weight bags which are sealed by a hot melt adhesive.
