  • Patent number: 11953859
Abstract: A combined device applies an axial force to a timepiece component, and simultaneously measures the axial distance between a reference and a surface of the component. The device includes a support carrying a measuring body which includes a measuring unit for carrying out an axial measurement of the position of this surface, and a controller operated by a user or by an automated manipulator, for applying to this surface, a characterised axial force transmitted to the bearing and measuring point by a calibrated axial resilient return device. The device is used by having a stack of flat, specific resilient elements, which are characterised by the combined force characteristic thereof as a function of the applied axial stroke, impart to the controller the rotational or axial stroke which corresponds to the specific axial force to be applied.

  • Publication number: 20100275774
Abstract: A method and apparatus for accommodating mis-alignment of a piston rod in a reciprocating force delivery device is provided. A piston rod is coupled to a piston by a pivot bearing disposed around the piston rod inside the piston. The pivot bearing contacts an internal surface of the piston and provides a biaxial pivot point, which may also be triaxial, for the piston rod inside the piston. The pivot point is located near the centroid of the piston, enabling forces not aligned with the axis of the piston to be decoupled into axial and transverse components. The force decoupling avoids rotational moment on the piston, minimizing the possibility of metal-to-metal contact between components of the piston and the cylinder liner.

  • Patent number: 5762422
Abstract: A bearing apparatus for use in an floppy disc drive device motor having a sleeve bearing and a thrust bearing is provided which is characterized in that there is provided a thrust bearing having such a convex portion, a projection, or a concave portion that makes the rotation shaft of the motor inclined with respect to the center axis of the sleeve bearing. Therefore, the rotation shaft ofa motor can be forcibly inclined with the rotation shaft and the sleeve bearing being kept in contact with each other. In addition, it is possible to reduce deviation in inclination of the motor rotation shaft and to ensure electric conductance between the motor rotation shaft and the motor body. These advantages are attained by a specific structure in which a projection, a convex portion, or a concave portion is provided at the thrust bearing, and therefore, the structure is simple and requires low costs.
