Patent number: 6883966Abstract: A windshield wiper system, and a method for producing such a system, in particular for a motor vehicle, having at least one wiper bearing (14) substantially comprising an injection-moldable material, in particular plastic, in which a wiper shaft (16) is supported at least in such a way that it can swing back and forth, and in the region of the wiper shaft (16), the wiper bearing (14) has a substantially hollow-cylindrical segment (24) on whose inner surface (34) at least one groove (40) is provided; at least one, in particular riblike, accumulation of material (38) is provided on the outer surfaces of the hollow-cylindrical segment (24), which accumulation is disposed in the radially outward direction of the groove (40) relative to the axis of rotation of the wiper shaft (16).Type: GrantFiled: December 15, 2001Date of Patent: April 26, 2005Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventor: Joachim Zimmer

Patent number: 6280087Abstract: A guide for a high speed steel rolling mill comprises two rolling members, between which the work product passes mounted for rotation on a base member. Each roller has a frusto-conically shaped bearing recess formed therein and each guide roller is mounted on a mating, frusto-conically shaped projection which protrudes from the base member. Each of the projections has a central oil duct which serves to feed a lubricating oil under pressure into the frusto-conically shaped space between the roller and its mating projection. The lubricating oil serves to form a film between the stationary projection and the rotating guide roller. Because of the conically shaped mating surface, the lubricating oil tends to “lift” the guide roller from the surface of the supporting base. Each rolling member is provided with a vane structure to permit the rolling member to be prespun by the impingement of a cooling fluid on the vane surface thereof.Type: GrantFiled: October 25, 1999Date of Patent: August 28, 2001Inventor: Mario Fabris

Patent number: 5320431Abstract: The invention is an improvement in a machine having a bushing-type journal bearing and a bearing-supported component relatively rotatable one to the other. The bearing has a surface contacting the component and at least one lubrication groove formed in such surface. The improvement comprises a plurality of lubrication grooves spaced along the surface and defining first and second groove sets. Each groove in at least the first set (and preferably in both sets) includes a segment angular to the direction of rotation so that lubricant is distributed both circumferentially and axially on the surface. Groove exit runners are provided so that grease is urged outward toward the bearing edges. The highly preferred embodiment is suitable for uni-directional or bi-directional rotation and other embodiments are disclosed which can be used for uni-directional rotation.Type: GrantFiled: August 30, 1993Date of Patent: June 14, 1994Assignee: Harnischfeger CorporationInventor: Harvey J. Patent number: 5279497Abstract: A radial sliding-contact bearing for rotary rolls has a cylindric fixed inner portion (2), a sleeve (4) rotatable thereon, and a gap (6) between the sleeve and the inner portion intended for a water film which in operation forms a rotary bearing for the sleeve. On its peripheral surface the inner portion has recesses (8') for facilitating an even distribution of the water over the surface of the inner portion (2) in operation. The water is fed to the gap (6) through first and second longitudinal rows of nozzle openings (14, 16) in the peripheral surface of the inner portion (2), which are connected to a common water supply channel (18) in the inner of the inner portion.Type: GrantFiled: January 14, 1993Date of Patent: January 18, 1994Inventor: Sven-Erik Sjodin

Patent number: 5002097Abstract: A connector for joining a wire or a second machine element (associated with a harness frame, for example) to a first machine element (a Dobby machine, for example) has a bracket including spaced-apart opposed side plates, a bearing and a wire connecting mechanism. The bearing is unmovably engaged with a mating holding portion connected to the first machine element and includes a body member made from synthetic resin, and which body member defines a shaft hole having a supporting shaft rotatably inserted therethrough, and a lubricant storing recess in the upper portion thereof. A lubricant retaining member is inserted in the recess to keep a lubricant infiltrated in the lubricant retaining member. A bottom surface of the recess is open to a lubricant feeding slot of a small diameter which extends to the inner circumferential surface of the shaft hole of the bearing.Type: GrantFiled: April 18, 1990Date of Patent: March 26, 1991Inventor: Junichi Yokoi

Patent number: 4830517Abstract: A device for locking rotation of an eccentric bearing used in a compression ratio changing device for an internal combustion engine where rotation of the eccentric bearing interposed between a connecting rod and a piston-pin changes the compression ratio. The device includes at least two groups of lock-pins, lock-pin holes formed in the connecting rod and lock holes formed in the eccentric bearing. The eccentric bearing is always locked in rotation relative to the connecting rod except when the compression ratio is exchanged. The locking of the rotation of the eccentric bearing suppresses slap noises of the piston and abrasion of the sliding surfaces of the device and improves durability of the compression ratio changing device.Type: GrantFiled: June 1, 1988Date of Patent: May 16, 1989Assignee: Toyota Jidosha Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Takao Naruoka, Eiji Iwasaki

Patent number: 4558960Abstract: The invention provides a radial friction bearing assembly, particularly for rotatably mounting the rolls of a paper or textile material processing machine, which will give a stable rotational movement without any vibrations and ensures that always an uninterrupted lubrication film is available, even at very low rotational speeds. A preferred embodiment of the bearing assembly comprises a stationary shaft member and an annular sleeve member rotatably mounted on the shaft member. The latter one comprises on its outer surface a plurality of equidistantially arranged longitudinal grooves which extend parallelly to the axis of the shaft member. A plurality of trapezoidally shaped recesses or pockets, having a substantially smaller depth than the longitudinal grooves, extend from and communicate with said grooves, the base edge of the trapezoid adjoining the leading edge of the longitudinal grooves.Type: GrantFiled: April 3, 1985Date of Patent: December 17, 1985Assignee: Arcomac S.A.Inventors: Jukka A. Patent number: 4445793Abstract: In a spiral groove bearing a gap between a surface portion which has grooves thereon and its opposing surface portion is smaller than the gap between any other surface portion which does not have grooves thereon and its opposing surface portion. A lubricant is disposed in the narrower gap. An oil repellent layer is applied to either the surface portion having grooves thereon or its opposing surface in the vicinity of the narrower gap.Type: GrantFiled: September 17, 1982Date of Patent: May 1, 1984Assignee: Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd.Inventor: Kazuyoshi Shinohara
