Edges Up And Down Patents (Class 384/4)
  • Patent number: 5896094
Abstract: A keyless entry system for use with a mobile transmitter for transmitting an ID code specified therefor along with a command for vehicle door lock/unlock remote control to a control unit. The control unit is operable in an ID code registration mode for registering an ID code transmitted from the mobile transmitter. The transmitted ID code is compared with the registered ID code to permit the remote control specified by the transmitted command when the transmitted ID code is identical with the registered ID code. Upon completion of a first predetermined procedure including a plurality of sequential events of at least one first movable vehicle member provided on the vehicle, a second movable vehicle member is changed from a first position to a second position.

  • Patent number: 5381716
Abstract: A tremolo system for a stringed instrument includes a base plate (10) secured to the upper surface of the body (2) of the instrument and provided with a transverse slot (12) feeding into a hollow volume (6) within the body (2), the base plate carrying a pair of laterally opposed first bearing portions (20) located within the body (2) one below each end of the transverse slot (12), and a block member (22) carrying second bearing portions (24) co-operating with the first bearing portions (20) whereby the block member (22) is pivotal about an axis extending transversely of the body (2) below the upper surface thereof. A tremolo lever (30) is secured to an upper extent (26) of the block member (22) projecting from the slot (8), while resilient mechanisms (34) react between a lower extent (36) of the block member (22) and the body (2) to maintain the block member (22) in a position of equilibrium against the tension of the strings (4).

  • Patent number: 5260999
Abstract: A distributed computer system employs a license management system to account for software product usage. A management policy having a variety of alternative styles and contexts is provided. Each licensed product upon start-up makes a call to a license server to check on whether usage is permitted, and the license server checks a database of the licenses, called product use authorizations, that it administers. If the particular use requested is permitted, a grant is returned to the requesting user node. The product use authorization is structured to define a license management policy allowing a variety of license alternatives by values called "style", "context", "duration" and "usage requirements determination method". The license administration may be delegated by the license server to a subsection of the organization, by creating another license management facility duplicating the main facility.
