  • Patent number: 11002151
Abstract: A V-clamp fastens a clamping flange of a turbine housing and a clamping flange of a bearing housing in a rotation axis direction of a connecting shaft so that the clamping flanges are fixed to each other. An annular heat shield plate is disposed between the turbine housing and the bearing housing. The heat shield plate is clamped by the turbine housing and the bearing housing. A clearance is disposed in an entire area between an opposed surface of the clamping flange of the turbine housing and an opposed surface of the clamping flange of the bearing housing.

  • Patent number: 10876428
Abstract: A casing of a turbocharger surrounds a housing to be encased at least in sections, with axial casing segments, which follow the housing to be encased axially outside, and with radial casing segments, which follow the housing to be encased radially outside. In the radial casing segments slot-like material recesses are introduced. Two adjacent slot-like material recesses delimit a strap of a respective radial casing segment. In a region of the respective strap, the radial casing segments are exclusively connected to the housing to be encased. Outside the respective strap, the radial casing segments are exclusively connected to the axial casing segments.

  • Patent number: 9695869
Abstract: A spherical plain bearing comprising an inner ring provided with a spherical outer surface and with lateral surfaces, an outer ring provided with a corresponding spherical inner surface mounted on the outer surface, and a sleeve mounted into a bore of the inner ring. The inner ring comprises at least three part rings which are mounted in contact in the circumferential direction one relative to another. At least one protrusion is provided on an outer surface of the sleeve and extends into a groove formed on the bore of the inner ring. The sleeve leaves the lateral surfaces free of the inner ring.

  • Patent number: 8398307
Abstract: A bearing device comprises a bearing fixing base, a hub, an oil seal bush, and an oily felt. The bearing fixing base is fixedly joined with a tubular support; the hub is fixedly joined with a rotor spindle which extends into the tubular support and rotates with respect to the tubular support; the oil seal bush is disposed between the spindle and the tubular support with a receiving clearance being defined between the oil seal bush and the tubular support; the oily felt is disposed in the receiving clearance. The oily felt supplies lubrication oil to lubricate the oil seal bush for prolonging a life span of the bearing device.

  • Patent number: 5549449
Abstract: A turbocharger includes a turbine and compressor housing attached by a circumferential clamp with circumferentially staggered contact points between the clamp and the housings to reduce heat transfer from the turbine housing to the compressor housing. The mass of the turbine housing is reduced and the mass of the compressor housing is increased to reduce the transfer of heat from the turbine housing to the compressor housing from the thermal flux of the turbine side heat energy. The compressor housing mass is increased by incorporating a heat-transfer interface between the compressor housing and the oil reservoir cover, which oil reservoir extends circumferentially around the axis of the turbocharger rotor shaft. Concentricity between the components of the turbocharger is achieved by creating the radial junction between the turbine and compressor backwalls on the smallest feasible diameter to minimize the effects of thermally induced distortion on component concentricity.

  • Patent number: 5291089
Abstract: An electric motor includes a rotor body having a longitudinal central axis, a longitudinal central opening substantially coaxial with the central axis, a journal bearing which is received in the central opening, a rotor shaft rotatably journaled in the bearing, and a wicking element through which the rotor shaft is journaled. The wicking element is in wicking contact with a source of lubricant and the rotor shaft to deliver lubricant from the source of lubricant to the rotor shaft. The improved wicking element has an opening which positively contacts the rotor shaft at at least one point, and is spaced from the shaft throughout substantially the remainder of the periphery to provide a wick which will improve oil flow to the rotor to improve lubrication of the shaft. Further, the wick is made from a polyester-cotton blend textile which has relatively short fibers. These fibers will not readily separate from the wick.

  • Patent number: 5108199
Abstract: A motor bearing system is provided in which a motor shaft is received by a bearing which is circumferentially engaged by a first lubricating felt washer. A second lubricating felt washer is received by a retaining cup opposite the first lubricating felt washer, with a motor bracket interposed therebetween. The second lubricating felt washer is forced into contacting engagement with the first such washer by means of pins extending from the retaining cup and passing through apertures within the end bracket. Accordingly, the effective lubricating reservoir is significantly increased and the integrity of the lubricating reservoir is maintained.
