  • Patent number: 11810597
Abstract: Devices, systems and methods are disclosed for improving story assembly and video summarization. For example, video clips may be received and a theme may be determined from the received video clips based on annotation data or other characteristics of the received video data. Individual moments may be extracted from the video clips, based on the selected theme and the annotation data. The moments may be ranked based on a priority metric corresponding to content determined to be desirable for purposes of video summarization. Select moments may be chosen based on the priority metric and a structure may be determined based on the selected theme. Finally, a video summarization may be generated using the selected theme and the structure, the video summarization including the select moments.

  • Patent number: 9076405
Abstract: A display device includes a signal line drive circuit provided with an analog amplifier through which a stationary electric current flows. The display device further includes a control signal output section which suspends operation of the analog amplifier during a period (non-scanning period) from an start time after application to a data signal line S(i) of a voltage necessary for display is completed in a horizontal period to an end time in the horizontal period. The control signal output section sustains an AMP_Enable signal through which the analog amplifier is controlled at an L value (a low value) in the non-scanning period. As a result, stationary electric current flowing through the analog amplifier is cut off in the non-scanning period. According to this, the display device allows for reduction of electric power consumption while being capable of displaying a moving image without causing flickering.

Abstract: The invention allows for persons to create motion photo videos or MPVs from photographs, video segments, personal narratives or animation by use of templates. Templates are created for specific songs, may be created or further modified by any person. MPVs are novel because they very quickly and inexpensively enable users to select a song and accompanying pre-made template and create a high-quality synchronized custom music video using their own hand-selected visual material. These custom videos can be shared by users with friends or can be published on the Internet and can be easily modified by swapping visual material or updating templates. Additionally, image capture devices may be employed to assist the user in capture, composition, and selection of images to be placed in pre-defined template bins, resulting in instant high-quality director-assisted video creation.

Abstract: When stored stream data is deleted/edited, the packet sequence completely included in a deletion range is deleted from the stream data, and the stream data is segmented into first stream data before the start point of the deletion range and second stream data after the end point of the deletion range. First and second stream management data corresponding to the first and second stream data are generated. The index value of the packet including the start point of the deletion range is written in the header of the first stream management data. The index value of the packet including the end point of the deletion range is written in the header of the second stream management data. In addition, an index base value for correcting the index value is written in the header of the second stream management data.

  • Patent number: 8009966
Abstract: Digital audio and video files are created corresponding to selected scenes from a creative production and are provided with a processing system that enables dialog to be selected from a scene and replaced by a user's dialog which is automatically synchronized with the original dialog so as to be in synchronism with lip movements displayed by the accompanying video display. The processing further includes a graphical user interface that presents the user with the video, the text of the dialog, and cues for rehearsal and recording of replacement dialog by the user. Replay of the user's dialog is accompanied by the video and part of the original audio except that the original dialog corresponding to the user's dialog is muted so that the user's dialog is heard as a replacement. Singing or other sounds associated with visible action may also be replaced by the same processes.

  • Patent number: 7974514
Abstract: When original data are stored, an association information storage area is reserved for each of the original data. When the original data are referred to by a playlist function and a partial area of the original data is registered in a playlist, an identifier for identifying the playlist that made the reference uniquely is stored in the association information storage area that the referred original data have. If a user issues an instruction to delete the original data, the association information storage area of the original data to be deleted is referred to, so that the stored identifier of the playlist of the reference origin is obtained. The playlist of the reference origin is identified based on the obtained identifier, and the identified playlist is deleted or edited.

  • Patent number: 7974519
Abstract: When information is recorded on an optical disc of DVD+R type, a latest RSAT is recorded upon completion of recording of one title. When recording of the latest RSAT fails, previous RSAT address information that indicates an address in which a previous RSAT is recorded is stored in a lead-in area of the optical disc. When an optical disc is loaded for reproduction, it is checked if the previous RSAT address information is present in the lead-in area. If it is present, the previous RSAT address information is obtained. If the latest RSAT is not found in a predetermined location but the previous RSAT address information is present, reproduction from the optical disc of DVD+R type is started by using the previous RSAT.

  • Patent number: 7941030
Abstract: At the time of recording, only an edition point is recorded (step S4). At the time of reproduction, overlap time (A_overlap) between an audio frame to be reproduced last and an audio frame to be reproduced first, each including a video connection point is calculated and, further, offset time is calculated on the basis of the overlap time (step S12). Reproducing audio data by using the calculated offset time (step S14) enables reproduction be performed without a gap between audio frames around a connection point. Around connection points, by performing a window function multiplying process on audio data, audio samples are seamlessly connected to each other.

  • Patent number: 7929830
Abstract: In recording, reproducing, and recording/reproducing apparatuses and methods thereof, while endlessly-recording first data, desired second data can be easily stored. The present invention comprises recording means for endlessly-recording the first data in a recording medium, input means for inputting a start and end point of the second data out of the first data, and control means, when the start point and end point are designated, for controlling the recording means so as to endlessly-record the first data while avoiding a recording region for the second data. Thereby, the second data can be stored without replacing the recording medium even if the second data is endlessly-recorded. In addition, when the start point and end point of the desired second data out of the first data are designated, the start point and end point are recorded, and then the first data is endlessly-recorded based on the recorded start point and end point while avoiding the recording region for the second data.

Abstract: Secure transmission of data is provided between a plurality of computer systems over a public communication system, such as the Internet. Secure transmission of data is provided from a customer computer system to a merchant computer system, and for the further secure transmission of payment information regarding a payment instrument from the merchant computer system to a payment gateway computer system. The payment gateway system evaluates the payment information and returns a level of authorization of credit via a secure transmission to the merchant which is communicated to the customer by the merchant. The merchant can then determine whether to accept the payment instrument tendered or deny credit and require another payment instrument. An architecture that provides support for additional message types that are not SET compliant is provided by a preferred embodiment of the invention. A server communicating bidirectionally with a gateway is disclosed.
