  • Patent number: 11765435
Abstract: Systems and methods for text tagging and graphical enhancement of subtitles in an audio-visual media display are disclosed. A media asset associated with an audio-visual display that includes one or more speaking characters may be received by a text tagging and graphical enhancement system. A set of sounds from the audio-visual display corresponding to speech by one of the speaking characters is identified. The set of sounds corresponding to the identified speaking character may be analyzed and one or more vocal parameters is identified, each vocal parameter measuring an element of one of the sounds. A display of subtitles synchronized to the speech of the identified speaking character within the audio-visual display may be generated. The appearance of the subtitles may be modified based on the identified vocal parameters for each of the corresponding sounds.

  • Patent number: 11711580
Abstract: According to one aspect of the present disclosure, a transmission method for enabling transmission of content using a broadcast and a communication channel includes: transmitting playback control information and service information using at least the broadcast wave, the service information being information for playing back content transmission using the broadcast and content transmission using the communication channel when the content is transmitted using the broadcast and the communication channel. The service information includes attribute information indicating that the first content data and the second content data constitute the content and location information that indicates a location for acquiring meta-information on playback control of the second content. The playback control information includes indexes of a relationship between the first content data and the second content data.

  • Patent number: 10216660
Abstract: According to some embodiment, a backup storage system receives a plurality of input/output (IO) requests at the storage system. The IO requests include random IO requests and sequential IO requests. The storage system determines whether there is a pending random IO request from the plurality of IO requests. In response to determining that there is a pending random IO request, the storage system determines whether a total latency of the sequential IO requests exceeds a predicted latency of the pending random IO request. The storage system services the pending random IO request in response to determining that the total latency of the sequential IO requests exceeds the predicted latency of the pending random IO request.

  • Patent number: 10191776
Abstract: An information processing system includes a control device that transfers data that is a processing target and a control command, a processing device that is provided outside the control device and performs processing according to the control command after the control command is transferred from the control device, and a planning device that determines a division size of the data such that a difference between a transfer time to transfer divided data from the control device to the processing device and a processing time to process the divided data in the processing device falls within a predetermined range, on the basis of an amount of data, the transfer time, and the processing time, wherein the divided data obtained by dividing the data according to the division size determined by the planning device is transferred to the processing device.

  • Patent number: 9811261
Abstract: A processing device determines configuration data associated with a device. The processing device analyzes the configuration data with respect to storage usage data collected over a previous time period. The processing device determines a maximum amount of storage space of a storage component for the device that is predicted to be written to in a future time period. The processing device determines a free space buffer threshold for a free space buffer of the storage component to be greater than the maximum amount of storage space that is predicted to be written to in the future time period.

  • Patent number: 9760574
Abstract: A method is used in managing I/O requests in file systems. A first and second I/O requests are received. The first I/O request is directed to a first portion of a file and the second I/O request is directed to a second portion of the file. Respective first portions of the first and second I/O requests are performed concurrently. Respective second portions of the first and second I/O requests are performed concurrently. Execution of the second I/O request starts before execution of the first I/O request finishes.

  • Patent number: 7487524
Abstract: The present invention is a method for presenting the content of images, in which, out of images that include at least moving images and can be segmented into a plurality of scenes, groups of two or more key images included in the individual scenes are extracted, and a digest screen of the images, which include the groups of key images, is organized. The method is characterized in that a scene segmenting step of generating individual segmented scenes and the following three steps for each scene are provided: a key-image extracting step, a preceding-and-following-key-image extracting step of extracting at least one still image time-oriented preceding the key image and/or at least one still image time-oriented following the key image, and a key-image weighting step of assigning a weight to the key image on the basis of a predetermined measure.
