Fluid Heater Carried On Discharge Member Patents (Class 392/473)
  • Patent number: 5113931
Abstract: A combination pump and heat exchanger assembly in a manufacturing process temperature controller uses a cast metal pump case with two upwardly opening sockets receiving the lower ends of two tubes, one of them communicating through the case with the pump impeller intake and the other with the impeller discharge. Closed circuit and open circuit versions are shown. In both types, the tubes are constructed to function as tanks, at least one being a heat exchanger unit, and they are readily and removably secured to the case by threaded fasteners and are sealed therein by compression seals. The heat exchanger tubes employ electrical heating elements or chilled liquid piping units therein. A controller including a microcomputer responds to temperature of liquid pumped from the assembly through a process to be temperature controlled, and returned to the assembly, to control an electric heater and/or a motor-operated modulator valve discharging to drain while cool make-up water is admitted.

  • Patent number: 5090895
Abstract: For reducing the unwanted escape (dripping) of oil from a burner nozzle, nozzle holder, oil warmer apparatus is provided to continuously regulate the oil temperature during operation of a oil fired heating system to maintain a nearly constant oil volume in the nozzle holder, oil warmer unit. The apparatus includes a pair of oil pipes that are encapsulated and connected between the nozzle and pump connections, there being a pair of heating elements that are also encapsulated for heating the oil pipes. The first heating element is permanently energized during the operation of the heating system while the second heating element is energized only when oil is being feed to the burner nozzle.

  • Patent number: 5054106
Abstract: In a soldering system which utilizes a fine jet of very hot gas for heating the work point the hot air may impinge directly on the work point or it may heat a soldering tip from within whereby it may be used in a more conventional mode of soldering or desoldering. A regulated flow of gas to the heater of the soldering instrument may be somewhat preheated by passing along the leads carrying the electric power to the heating element. The same supply of air may also be used to cool the handle of the handle of the soldering instrument for operator comfort and safety. The temperature of the heating element is remotely electronically controlled by a time share use of the power leads as temperature sensing and feedback.
