Attitude Sensing Patents (Class 396/50)
  • Patent number: 5659805
Abstract: A camera for containing film which captures an image and indication of camera orientations thereon, the camera has a camera housing having a magnet rotatably connected to it for rotating the magnet in response to orientations of the camera housing. A first, second and third sensor are attached to the camera body for sensing a magnetic field from the magnet. An electrical circuit generates a logic table which indicates orientations of the camera housing in response to a signal from the first, second and third sensors. A record head indicates on the film the orientation of the camera derived from the logic table.

  • Patent number: 5625848
Abstract: A camera includes an orientation detection device that detects the orientation of the camera, a recording device that records photographic settings to be used during photography, and a camera controller. The recording device records the photographic settings relative to different orientations of the camera. The camera controller controls the camera based upon the detected orientation and photographic settings recorded in the recording device for that detected orientation.

  • Patent number: 5614981
Abstract: A photographic camera is provided with an orientation detector including first and second elements that move relative to one another under the influence of gravity, and a signal device that responds to magnetic fields between the first and second elements to represent camera orientation. One of the elements is magnetized and the other is a Hall-effect sensor that responds to magnetic fields to produce an electrical output indicative of camera orientation. The signal device includes a recording mechanism responsive to the electrical signal for recording the camera orientation on the film.

  • Patent number: 5596387
Abstract: An auto-exposure device of a camera which can generate a photograph which fits to an image of a photographing time band in the photographing of an evening scene, a morning scene and so on. The auto-exposure device comprises a split photo-metering device for photo-metering a plurality of split areas of an object field, a color temperature measurement device for measuring a color temperature of a light source for illuminating the object field, and an exposure calculation device for calculating an exposure value based on the output of the split photo-metering device and the output of the color temperature measurement device.
