The charging device controls a total resistance by adjusting a material, a thickness, a contact area, and a radius of the charging member, and maintains the contact linear pressure and the contact nip from the photosensitive medium. As a result, the charging device can easily adjust an electric resistance, minimizing variations of the contact linear pressure and the contact nip, material and processing expenses can be cut down, and productivity of the charging device is improved.
