  • Patent number: 10816917
Abstract: A developing apparatus includes a developer bearing member, a developer container, and a storage tank arranged within the developer container to store liquid developer to be supplied to the developer bearing member. The storage tank includes a first bottom surface including an inclined portion that is inclined downward with respect to a horizontal direction in a rotational axis direction of the developer bearing member, and a discharge port arranged on a lower end of the inclined portion of the first bottom surface. The developer container includes a second bottom surface including an inclined portion that is inclined downward with respect to the horizontal direction toward an opposite direction as the inclined portion of the first bottom surface in the rotational axis direction of the developer bearing member, and a discharge port arranged on a lower end of the inclined portion of the second bottom surface.

  • Patent number: 5724629
Abstract: This invention relates to a liquid developer monitoring device comprising a first electrode which contacts with a liquid developer comprising a liquid medium and electrically charged toner particles dispersed therein, a second electrode being either a developing roller or a separate roller which provides a fresh surface and immerses said surface in the liquid developer, an electric power source which applies a bias voltage between said first and second electrodes so as to deposit the toner particles on the second electrode, and a sensor which measures magnitude of current flowing between said first and second electrodes during the deposition of the toner particles. A cleaning device removes the deposited toner on the second electrode. The sensor includes an electric coil, a magnet inserted in the coil and a Hall element.

  • Patent number: 5640230
Abstract: An electrostatic latent image developing method and an apparatus used in the latent image developing method are disclosed. In a first image developing method, a bias supply voltage provided to a developing dish is gradually increased during a developing process so as to prevent a decrease in an effective bias voltage applied to the developing dish caused by the attachment of the toner to the developing dish. Further, in a second developing method, the electrostatic latent image is formed on a photosensitive member by scanning a laser beam on a preliminarily charged photosensitive member in a lateral scanning direction, the thus formed latent image is developed by absorbing a toner in a liquid developer in a developing dish, wherein a cleaning pattern image having a large toner absorbability for absorbing the toner attached to a surface of the developing dish is provided on the photosensitive member by the laser beam before and/or after the latent image is formed on the photosensitive member.
