  • Patent number: 9098027
Abstract: In an image heating apparatus in which a heating rotating body heats a recording material bearing an image and a rubbing member rubs the heating rotating body to eliminate gloss streaks, an image failure, such as gloss unevenness, does not occur on normal plain paper and coated paper, and a toner gloss on the coated paper can be enhanced. A longitudinal temperature difference of a heating rotating body 91 is controlled within a predetermined temperature, so that the surface of the heating rotating body can be uniformly roughed. Consequently, an image failure due to scuffs on the surface of the heating rotating body and gloss unevenness due to unevenness of roughness of the surface of the heating rotating body are prevented, and thus a good fixed image can be obtained.

  • Patent number: 9091985
Abstract: The image forming apparatus includes photosensitive drums, drive motors for driving the photosensitive drums, a motor control unit for controlling operations of the drive motors, and a printer control unit. The printer control unit stops rotations of the photosensitive drums at reference positions after a print job is finished. After prescribed time elapses from the end of the print job, microscale driving of the photosensitive drums is performed for a microscale driving time period. Then, drive amounts by the drive motors during the microscale driving are calculated. At the start of a next print job, activation timing of each of the drive motors is adjusted in accordance with the drive amount so as to reduce a variation generated due to the microscale driving.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a process unit arranged in the vicinity of the circumference of each photosensitive member and the process unit is configured to act on the photosensitive member in forming a toner image thereon. The image forming apparatus detects a time period since a laser beam emission unit emits a laser beam to the photosensitive member to form an electrostatic latent image for detection until the formed electrostatic latent image for detection or a toner image based on the electrostatic latent image for detection reaches the process unit, and performs color misregistration correction control based on the result of detection. In this case, a control unit at least decreases the light amount of a pre-exposure LED when the electrostatic latent image for detection passes through a position facing the pre-exposure LED.
