  • Patent number: 9476193
Abstract: This flush toilet apparatus includes a traveling-direction switching mechanism switching a mode between a toilet washing mode and a tank storage mode. This traveling-direction switching mechanism includes: a shield portion directing jet water to an outside of a throat pipe at a time of the tank storage mode; a moving mechanism moving the shield portion from a position at a time of the toilet washing mode in a first direction to a position at the time of the tank storage mode; and a guide surface switching a traveling direction of the jet water so that after the traveling direction is switched, a flow rate of the jet water is higher in a second direction opposite to the first direction than in the first direction.

  • Patent number: 8701220
Abstract: A jet powered toilet flushing system, including: a toilet bowl; a reservoir; a fluid conduit between the reservoir and the toilet bowl; a jet inside the reservoir, the jet having a nozzle directed toward an entrance of the fluid conduit; a fill valve that supplies water to the jet; and a flow diverter in the reservoir, the flow diverter positioned to divert water flow: (a) from the jet nozzle into the entrance of the fluid conduit when the reservoir is full, or (b) from the jet nozzle away from the entrance of the fluid conduit and into the reservoir when the reservoir is empty.

  • Patent number: 6502251
Abstract: A flush toilet 1 has a toilet flushing tank device 7 for discharging flushing water to a toilet bowl 2. This tank device is built into a tank storage region 5 to the rear of the toilet bowl 2, and comprises a flushing water tank 8 and a jet pump 13 disposed submerged in this flushing water tank 8. Flushing water (operating water) is supplied to this jet pump 13 via a flush valve 11 and a pipe 12 downstream from this valve. The jet pump 13 comprises a spray nozzle 131 and a throat 132 opposite thereto. Because the jet pump 13 is connected directly to a pipe 14, all of the flushing water jetted from the jet pump 13 passes directly to the pipe 14, and is guided by this pipe 14 to a rim water channel 4b.

  • Patent number: 5579542
Abstract: A tank type toilet has a water saving, vacuum-assisted flushing system that incorporates a diverter valve disposed in the tank portion of the toilet. During the flushing of the toilet, pressurized water is discharged from a ballcock valve assembly in the tank and delivered to the diverter valve which creates from the received water a water jet that is used to create a vacuum area within the diverter valve. The vacuum area is communicated with an uppermost interior portion of the bowl trapway to facilitate a main flushing action in the bowl that requires less flushing water. At the same time, the water jet entrains tank water therein, through water inlet openings in the diverter valve body, and delivers the jet and entrained water to the rim flushing passage of the bowl to augment the vacuum-assisted main flushing action.

  • Patent number: 4312083
Abstract: A flush valve for a toilet having a tank and a bowl including a valve housing connected to a source of water, a valve stem operatively connected to a float and a piston operatively connected through a cam to a flush lever, the valve stem and piston movable independently to provide a valve for the admission of water to the tank and bowl together with a syphon having a tube therein for breaking the syphon action at a predetermined level of water in the tank, a float operatively connected to the valve stem which automatically varies the float level action and an arm connected to the cam for actuation by the float to return the flush lever to an inoperative position and another valve operated by the piston to interrupt the flow of water into the valve housing to prevent back syphonage of tank water into the water supply line.

  • Patent number: 4114208
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a ballcock type flush valve that has all moving parts above the water line of the tank, thereby eliminating corrosion. The valve configuration is such that it is designed to shut-off the flow of water, thereby providing a positive shut-off, and further it is unique in that it has no seat or seal to leak that is below the water line. Fail safe features include a flush mechanism that will remain inoperative until the tank has regenerated its water supply, thereby providing a full flush. Anti-syphon means are included in addition to prevent back flow of bowl water into the water system. The ballcock flush valve combination is so constructed that ingress of additional water due to a faulty seal is impossible thereby conserving water.

  • Patent number: 4077602
Abstract: An actuating valve serves as a pilot to a control valve for a valve controlled flushing system for a tank-type toilet installation which comprises a siphon flush valve, and a control valve that allows supply water to flow into the tank to initiate siphonic action, to supplement flow through the siphon flush valve and to refill the tank, which control valve utilizes a piston which is ordinarily seated in a closed position by supply line pressure. The actuating valve is located in a bypass passage between the supply pressure and a timing pressure chamber of a control valve.
