Abstract: A modular swimming pool is constructed of one or more floor sections and a plurality of wall sections, with water-tight seams between the sections. Grooves formed in the sides of each section mate with corresponding grooves on adjacent sections and thereby form hollow channels that hold elastomeric seals. A plurality of fasteners applies compressive force to the seals, which results in formation of a water-tight seam. A skirt, also provided in sections is attached to the wall sections and forms a structural and decorative part of the pool.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide an improved pool. Embodiments of the present invention also provide a method of making an improved pool. The pool can comprise an integrated sidewall joined to a floor portion. The integrated sidewall can be constructed from one piece of material, and can have fewer seams than traditional pools, thereby reducing the likelihood that that pool will rupture and leak. In some embodiments, since the pool has fewer seams than traditional pools, fewer manufacturing steps are required to make the pool. This can increase manufacturing speed and decrease cost.

Abstract: A portable and convertible in-ground infant pool includes a flexible inner cavity having a substantially water impervious base and substantially water impervious sidewall(s) and an outwardly projecting flange that extends from an upper sidewall rim. The base and sidewall(s) seat within a recess or cavity or hole, such as may be formed in beach sand. The flange seats on the beach or ground surface around the periphery of the cavity. Water is poured into the pool for infant play. When water is emptied from the pool, a cinching mechanism at or along the perimeter of the flange rim, when activated, permits the infant pool to be converted from a pool configuration to a pool-in-a bag or carryall.

Abstract: A variable-diameter tank construction system is provided. The tank construction system uses sets of wedges (shims) and bevel-faced spacers (washers) in conjunction with the field connections of the vertical edges of adjacent modular tank wall panels, so as to create an angular deviation between the tangent lines of the wall panels immediately adjacent to and on either side of the vertical joint between the connected panels.

Abstract: A dog pool provides a convenient, easy-to-use product for dogs to swim in, or fun, exercise and therapy. The dog pool is durable, portable, easy to set up and easy to store. Because the dog pool is made of inflatable PVC tarpaulin material, it can be made larger and deeper than conventional pools and still be easy to store, set up and move. A step can be included along at least a portion of one wall on the inside of the dog pool to assist the dog in getting themselves out of the pool. A ramp can be included on the outside of the pool, adjacent to the pool wall, to assist a dog in entering, and exiting, the pool. The pool walls and floor are typically formed as in integral unit, further increasing easy of set up and use.

Abstract: A modular containment wall system provides secondary containment about one or more liquid storage tanks in a storage area using panel members connected with series to form a perimeter wall about the storage area together with a barrier member spanning the area surrounding by the perimeter wall. Each panel member has a main wall portion and a brace including a triangular gusset panel and a foot panel along a bottom side in which the gusset panel and foot panel of the brace are pivotal together relative to the main wall portion between a working position in which the gusset panel is substantially perpendicular to the main wall portion and a storage position in which the gusset panel is substantially parallel to the main wall portion.

Abstract: Devices combining swimming pool skimmers, pumps, and removable, disposable filters into integral, sidewall-mounted systems for above-ground pools and other above-ground liquid containment enclosures, and methods for the use of such systems to remove both larger floating debris and smaller particulate matter to maintain water clarity and hygienic safety within such pools or like liquid containment enclosures are disclosed herein. Specifically, a ring-type above-ground pool comprising a base, a sidewall, and at least a portion of a cleaning system solely supported by the sidewall and mounted at a non-vertical angle such that it is substantially parallel to the sidewall.

Abstract: The present invention provides an enclosed, in-ground, temperature-controlled super dive tank for recreational diving and/or dive training purposes. The super dive tank has a length ranging between about 100 to about 200 feet long and a width ranging between about 50 to 150 feet wide. The depth of the tank ranges between about 50 to 80 feet deep. The present invention also provides a method for simulating open water diving by a diver, comprised of diving in an enclosed, in-ground, temperature-controlled super dive tank up to depths ranging between 50 to 80 feet. The present invention thus provides a diver with as natural a diving experience as one would have if one were diving in a coral reef in an ocean.

The fence further includes a plurality of poles, each inserted into and maintained erect by one of the bases; and a mesh fencing material tensioned between the poles.

Abstract: A method of attaching a cabinet assembly to a spa. The method includes providing a frame that has a channel that forms a perimeter. A spa is placed on the frame such that a flange or lip of the spa extends past the perimeter created by the channel. A plurality of slats are then secured between the flange of the spa and the channel of the frame in order to form a cabinet around the spa.

Abstract: A swimming pool has a plurality of wall panels secured together in an edge-to-edge relation to define the perimeter of the pool. At least one of the panels includes: a generally rectangular main body having a generally planar face forming a portion of a pool side wall; a pair of opposed edge flanges for juxtaposition with edge flanges of adjacent wall panels, the flanges extending from the plane of the body face at an angle differing from orthogonal by a small draft angle; and a plurality of elongated ribs extending along each flange of the at least one panel in a direction generally orthogonal to the plane of the body face.

Abstract: An aquatic wildlife discovery pool provides a swimming pool where swimmers can explore and discover various types of live aquatic wildlife. The aquatic wildlife discovery pool may comprise one or more aquariums at its walls to give swimmers the impression that they are swimming with the aquatic wildlife. In addition, one or more aquariums may be at the floor of the pool to allow swimmers to dive downward to discover aquatic wildlife at the bottom of the aquatic wildlife discovery pool.

Abstract: A swimming pool brace assembly having a brace and bracket used to attach a concrete form. The bracket positions the concrete form between the concrete footing and the deck of the swimming pool. The swimming pool brace is provided with receptacles that are adapted to receive the brackets, which are used to retain the position of the concrete form. The receptacles of the brace allow the brackets to be attached to either side of the brace. The bracket includes a retention feature that is configured to retain the bracket in position once inserted into the receptacle of the brace. The bracket includes a series of radially spaced inwardly extending protrusions that engage the concrete form. The protrusions are adapted to deflect to adjust for variations in the size of the forms.

Abstract: An elongate beading for attaching a pool liner to a pool wall includes a substantially planar liner attachment portion having an outer surface for attachment to a pool liner and a hook portion having a pair of opposed first and second legs interconnected by a connector portion. The first and second legs and connector portion have inner surfaces defining a channel and the first leg is substantially coplanar with the liner attachment portion. The second leg defines with the connector portion a downwardly facing shoulder and includes a narrowing intermediate its ends which defines first and second sections, the second section being the free end portion which is separable from the first section. The free end portion tapers outwardly from the narrowing towards its free end, includes a plurality of spaced apart raised ribs on its surfaces and terminates in an enlarged protuberance.

Abstract: A non-flexible floor covering adaptor is provided for use with a shower tray (10) having a peripheral trough (18) and means for engaging flexible floor covering material in the trough (18). The adaptor (30) comprises a first profiled portion (32) locatable in the trough (18) of the shower tray (10); a second profiled portion (34) which matches or substantially matches a peripheral edge of the shower tray (10), and a floor flange (36) for engagement with non-flexible floor covering material, such as tiles or boards.

Abstract: A modular pool system including a plurality of pivotally connected panels disposed side end to side end defining an enclosed pool perimeter wall. The panels are pivotable with respect to each other to form a pool perimeter wall configuration. A pool liner is secured to the pool perimeter wall for retaining water within the pool perimeter wall.

Abstract: A multi-functional therapy pool for use in physical rehabilitation, strengthening exercises and recreational purposes. The multi-functional therapy pool preferably has a generally rectangular shape wherein one side of the pool is provided with patient entry means and a seating area adjacent thereto. The remaining three sides of the pool are preferably provided with a continuous overflow gutter formed upon the upper periphery that is operative to catch splashes and minimize waves during physical activity within the pool. A number of therapeutic modalities will further be integrated within the pool, including spa jets, integrated underwater treadmill, and specialized hand rails to facilitate access in and out of the pool.

First and second panel members are arranged to form the frame structure's inside corner. A gap of nominal gap width is disposed at the inside corner between a rear edge of the second panel member and a face of the first panel member. One or more retaining members partially close the gap to provide corresponding areas of reduced gap width. Each retaining member is formed on or attached to a surface of the first or second panel member that defines a first or second side of the gap without mechanical fastening to both sides of said gap. The nominal gap width is sized to receive one or more bead elements on the sheet member, and the reduced gap width traps the one or more bead elements within the gap, thereby retaining the sheet member to the inside corner.

Abstract: The present invention provides a pool wall and deck support member including modular and symmetrical upper and lower halves adapted to be interconnected to one another to form a unitary support member. Each half is essentially V-shaped with the bottom of the V having a pair of fastening elements disposed thereon and adapted to securely engage corresponding fastening elements disposed on the bottom of the V of the opposite half. Disposed on the ends of the upwardly extending legs of the V-shaped members are fastening elements that are adapted to engage a cross bar that extends across the V-shaped member.

Abstract: A sealing member for securing a vinyl pool liner to a stair system and including a first sealing component which is secured along a side wall defining the stairs; a bottom sealing component secured to the wall beneath the stairs and a corner assembly disposed between the two. All of the first and bottom sealing components and the corner assembly include an inner frame member and an outer frame member which are configured to snap-fittingly engage each other and clamp a portion of the liner between them. The corner assembly is curved and a cover is engaged over the outer frame member of the corner assembly to prevent accidental disengagement thereof. The cover extends for a distance along each of the first and bottom sealing components. The outer frame member defines a plurality of apertures in its upper surface which are configured to receive studs extending outwardly from the cover.

Abstract: Present embodiments are directed to features for maintaining or providing a beach area that is adjacent a water feature and that includes beach surface material disposed in one or more containment structures such that a multi-colored or illuminated beach surface is provided. Present embodiments may include multiple containment structures arrayed in an area adjacent a water feature, wherein each containment structure holds beach surface material of a different color. Further, present embodiments may include creating and/or distributing iridescent and/or phosphorescent beach surface material in one or more containment structures that define the beach area. Additionally, present embodiments may include adjustable or attachable barrier extensions to facilitate maintenance. Further, present embodiments may include transparent or translucent beach surface material disposed in one or more containment structures and a lighting system under the beach surface materials.

Abstract: A swimming pool assembly having a plurality of side wall panels certain adjacent ones of which have juxtaposed apertured edge flanges joined together by compression plates each having planar blade and a first plurality of pre-alignment fasteners extending away from the plane of the blade through aligned apertures in each juxtaposed flange and engaging a flange plate surface opposite the blade to temporarily align the side wall panels. Each compression plate further includes a second plurality of alignment towers passing through additional aligned apertures in each juxtaposed flange terminating in wedge receiving slots. Wedges, upon being forced into respective slots, clamp the flanges tightly together. Adjacent panel flanges may further include FML flat surfaces oriented to compensate for panel flange draft angle whereby adjacent panels when clamped together present generally coplanar pool surfaces.

Abstract: A modular containment system for forming a defined perimeter around liquid storage tanks or the like. The containment system generally includes a plurality of wall panels, a corner joint removably connecting adjacent corner wall panels in angular disposition, wherein the corner joint includes an anchor pad for placement beneath and for being connected to the corner wall panels, and a support unit comprised of a gusset and anchor pad for connecting and supporting the wall panels along a straight line. The wall panels, corner joint, and support unit are each preferably comprised of an integral one-piece structure and a galvanized steel material. The wall panels, corner joint, and support unit are removably connected via interlocking wedges. A liner is generally secured along an interior of the wall panels via a retaining cap. Various braces and brackets are also used to removably connect the components of the containment barrier.

Abstract: Described herein are methods of improving the durability of concrete by the infusion of the concrete with a low-viscosity oligomeric solution, and subsequent curing of the oligomeric solution to form a high toughness polymer. Also described herein are compositions containing concrete and high toughness polymers, and formed articles made from concrete and high toughness polymers. The methods and compositions are useful for improving the durability of concrete roads and structures, as well as the durability of repairs to concrete roads.

Abstract: A method for constructing a structure, preferably a swimming pool, includes the steps of excavating a cavity, applying a sub-base such as sand along at least a portion of the cavity, forming the sub-base into the desired shape of the structure, and applying a solidifier solution to the sub-base. The solidifier solution comprises a polymer in solution. The solidifier solution and the sub-base harden to form a smooth, hard composite layer in the base of the cavity, with the composite layer containing at least some of the polymer and at least some of the sub-base in a polymer lattice. After the solidifier solution has been applied, a liner may be installed, and the swimming pool may be filled.

Abstract: A foam interlining device for swimming pools with pressure activated adhesive is shown. The device is disposed between the pool liner and the swimming pool backup wall. The interlining is also constructed with both a mounting adhesive and a self-sealing coating. The self-sealing coating seals minor punctures and tears of the pool liner. In one embodiment, the edge of the interlining also functions as an expansion joint between a deck and the swimming pool coping and as an underlayment or sill seal for the coping. The interlining device is also shown premounted on the backup-wall-side of the pool liner.

Abstract: A portable swimming pool comprising a base having a perimeter; and a side wall erected upright. The side wall includes a top and a bottom, such that the bottom of the side wall is coupled to the perimeter of the base. The side wall incorporates an expansion system that enables the side wall to increase and decrease to different heights, and thus increasing/decreasing the depth/volume of the pool. The expansion system can include a zipper means that extends about the circumference or perimeter of the swimming pool.

Abstract: A formation aid, for use in the forming of receptacles in a swimming pool, includes a three-dimensional body having an essentially conical shape. The three-dimensional body of the formation aid includes a narrow end, for placement near an interior edge of the swimming pool during formation of the swimming pool; and a wide end, for placement remote from the interior edge of the swimming pool, in order to form a receptacle.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for circulating water in a bathing installation with a water circulation flow path and a tub for holding bathing water is described. A pump is submerged in a chamber in the circulation flow path so that the pump when operated provides a positive pump pressure to pump water through the circulation flow path from an inlet opening to an outlet opening. Thermal contact is provided between a pump housing surface and water in the chamber to allow heat transfer between the pump housing surface and water in the chamber.

Abstract: A modular stair unit for use in a swimming pool formed from a plurality of contiguous modular wall panels joined end-to-end to define a pool enclosure having a vertical perimeter wall includes a vertical wall having opposite ends adapted to be joined with contiguous wall panels and being substantially coplanar with the vertical walls of the contiguous wall panels at its joinder therewith and at least two planar steps extending downwardly and protruding from the vertical wall into the pool, the top step being recessed below the top of the vertical wall and at least one of the steps defining a seating area for supporting a person seated thereon. A plurality of hydrotherapy jets are spaced apart along the vertical wall above the seating area and below the water line of the swimming pool.

Abstract: A quickly assembled water reservoir includes plural boards. Each board is provided side by side on side walls of a tank unit. The water reservoir also includes plural connection members and each connection member is used to connect two neighboring boards, allowing an included angle to be formed between the two neighboring boards, so as to construct a water pool. Therefore, through providing the plural boards and the plural connection members in the closed tank unit to construct the water reservoir, the present invention can be provided with an effect of isolating temperature, a power source, ambient moisture and water.

Abstract: An easy to assemble portable floating hot tub for use in even cold and turbulent water includes an inflatable pontoon, an insulated liner peripherally connected to the pontoon and defining hot tub fill volume, and flexible members extending from the pontoon under the liner such that the weight of the liner filled with water is supported partly by the flexible members. A floor made of rigid spaced apart and parallel slats can be rolled up with the flexible liner and deflated pontoon. A collapsible frame made of connected rigid members may be provided in or outside of the liner. The pontoon is placed on the body of water and inflated. Filling the internal volume defined by the insulated liner with water causes it to descend below the pontoon. A portable heater having a heating capacity of at least 30,000 BTUs rapidly heats up the water within the hot tub. The system components can be transported in carry bags of less than 100 pounds and deployed by one person in an extremely small space, such as on a boat.

Abstract: A sealing member for sealing a pool fixture to a vinyl pool liner and a method of using the same. The sealing member includes inner and outer frame members, one of which includes a channel and the other includes a projection complementary to the channel. A bead of sealing material is provided one of in the channel and on the projection. When the inner and outer frame members are engaged with each other, the projection is received in the channel and a portion of the pool liner retained thereinbetween is maintained in contact with the sealing material.

The set comprises at least one panel, which is made at least partly of composite material which is substantially water-repellent and has any shape and size depending on design requirements, the perimetric walls of each panel being provided with watertight anchoring to the contiguous panels.

Abstract: An apparatus is provided for constructing edging around the perimeter of a swimming pool having a decking and a retractable pool cover, wherein an elongated guide connector is attached to a wall of the swimming pool for connecting to a guide member for the pool cover, that includes a form member shaped to form the edging, and a form mating structure on the form member for removably mating the form member to the elongated guide connector.

Abstract: Corner assemblies principally for swimming pools are described. The assemblies include plates lacking any “corner points” or ninety-degree angles and replace, rather than fit into, slots of perimeter coping of pools. A separate cover may be fastened to a corresponding plate and function as either or both of a water barrier or an appearance-enhancing element.

Abstract: The present invention is directed toward an underwater, safety surface and a method for preparing the same. The first layer of the surface consists of a typical existing swimming pool substrate. Next, a thin layer of flexible, breathable urethane primer is added. A thick layer of a mixture of rubberized particles bound by urethane is then applied. A final layer of thickened epoxy grout is then hand-troweled to ensure coverage between each of the rubberized particles. Finally, the epoxy grout is sanded, ground, and buffed to uncover the tips of the rubberized particles.

Abstract: An apparatus is provided for constructing edging around the perimeter of a swimming pool having a decking and a retractable pool cover, wherein an elongated guide connector is attached to a wall of the swimming pool for connecting to a guide member for the pool cover, that includes a form member shaped to form the edging, and a form mating structure on the form member for removably mating the form member to the elongated guide connector.

Abstract: An inflatable device that floats on water has an inflatable body that has a hollow interior, a speaker unit removably secured to the body, a battery box removably secured to the body, and wiring that electrically connects the speaker unit with the battery box. The wiring is housed inside a tube that extends inside the hollow interior of the body and exits the body at at least one exit location, the wiring including a first electrical connector that is removably coupled to the speaker unit, and a second electrical connector that is removably coupled to the battery box.
