Bed Type Patents (Class 4/529)
  • Patent number: 9596945
Abstract: A support cushion is provided for dissipating heat away from the support cushion. The support cushion includes a body supporting portion and a base portion that is positioned below the body supporting portion. The base portion defines a channel that extends through the base portion and that is in fluid communication with the body supporting portion. A fan is further included in the support cushion and is operably connect to the channel of the base portion, such that the fan is positioned and configured to move an amount of air through the channel and dissipate heat away from the body supporting portion. Methods of dissipating heat away from a support cushion are also provided.

  • Patent number: 8161581
Abstract: A device for eliminating poisons and pollutants from the human body and for revitalizing cells includes a temperature controlled upper cover having a natural five primary substance stone coating layer, a temperature controlled lower mat having vibrators and a natural five primary substance stone coating layer, a herb essence supplier connected to the interior of space formed by the upper cover and the lower mat, and a negative ion producing air pump connected to the herb essence supplier for supplying negative ions. The device adjusts the temperature of a user in the interior space between the upper cover and the lower mat and discharges the poisons in the human body through perspiration holes on the skin by the action of the natural five primary substance stone and absorbed herbal essence.

  • Patent number: 6962609
Abstract: A process for making multi-colored fabrics from a single dye formula is described. The process involves providing a substrate including synthetic fibers, with the substrate having defined regions where the synthetic fibers have differing levels of fiber orientation, and dyeing the substrate with a dye bath containing at least one dye from at least two of the categories of a) high contrast dyes, 2) medium contrast dyes and c) low contrast dyes, to thereby produce a multi-colored substrate from a single dye formula. The substrates are characterized by having a base of a first color and patterned regions of a different color, with the regions of different colors corresponding to regions of different levels of fiber orientation.

  • Patent number: 6623511
Abstract: A personalized therapeutic compartment includes a horizontal bed for supporting a person to be treated, and has a shower system with a plurality of shower nozzles arrayed above the bed so that a person can have a therapeutic shower while lying on the bed. The shower system includes a water source which may be colored and coordinated with a light source on the interior of the compartment. A source of aroma is provided that suggests the color used for total therapy treatment. Additional therapeutic steam and dry air can be provided as desired. A method of treatment disclosed includes chromatherapy using coordinated colors and aroma and if desired requested colors for therapy of different portions of the body of a user.

  • Patent number: 5101809
Abstract: A personalized sauna comprising an elongated, horizontally extending bed which is connected to a supporting pedestal. The bed is positioned at least partially within the pedestal and is designed to an individual in a horizontal position. The sauna also includes a structure for uniformly directing downwardly heated, recirculating air above and over the top of the bed to provide an air shower and a flow of air over a person lying on the bed. The structure includes a cover member, hingedly mounted to the pedestal at the end which extends substantially along the entire length of the bed. An elongated upper chamber is formed within the cover member and extends substantially along the entire length of the cover member. A duct is formed on the cover and has air outlet openings leading from the duct to the chamber for introducing recirculated air into the chamber. A blower is supported on the cover for circulating air from the chamber, which enters through air inlet openings, into the duct.

  • Patent number: 5069207
Abstract: A physiotherapy device includes a bed structure having a horizontally disposed upper plate with a plurality of orifices. An apertured plate which forms a network having apertures rests on the upper plate. A plurality of spray nozzles are mounted below respective orifices for spraying upwardly through the orifices and the apertured plate. A shade and canvas provide a space for the user and are raisable and lowerable. A mounting means is provided for mounting the shade for pivoting movement about a horizontal axis. A controller then includes a heating tank filled with a suitable physiotherapeutic liquid, a conduit for delivering the heated liquid to the spray nozzles, and a control unit for controlling a heating of the liquid in the heating tank and a period of delivery of the liquid to the spray nozzles.

  • Patent number: 4884574
Abstract: A vibratory sauna having a cover rotatably connected to a lower housing that supports an elongate member adapted to support the torso of a person using the sauna. The cover forms a compartment that passes hot air over the torso by way of a blower mounted in a longitudinal air duct that is positioned in a chamber formed by the lower housing and the elongate member. Hot air coils are in the duct. The elongate member is resiliently supported by the lower housing so that a vibratory device causes the elongate member to move at a predetermined tempo. A head support extends longitudinally from the lower housing. One or more systems, such as a face fan, air purifier, radio and/or cassette player with stereo speakers, amy also be provided, if desired, and controls for all such systems may be suitably disposed on the inside of the cover for access during use of the vibratory sauna.
