  • Patent number: 7472430
Abstract: A laminar flow waterfall in the form of a single or multiple streams of water, each exiting from a nozzle in the top edge of a spa. The laminar water stream is created by a venturi nozzle located in a plenum chamber. The inlet side of the nozzle has a cover with a plurality of small holes forcing the water flow to enter the nozzle as laminar flow. A flow divider inside the venturi nozzle, from the inlet to the restriction of the nozzle, maintains the flow laminar through the nozzle. Light is injected into the flow divider at the inlet and is carried by the flow divider to be injected into the water flow at the restriction of the nozzle.

Abstract: The present invention provides an air control valve for hydrotherapy equipment. The air control valve incrementally controls the supply of air to a venturi jet of the hydrotherapy equipment, thus regulating the flow of air that is mixed with water passing through the venturi jet. Various embodiments of the invention comprise a cammed assembly that translates axial movement of at least one axial member into rotational movement of at least one rotational member, thereby regulating the volume of air flow through a conduit communicating with the air control valve and the venturi jet. Further, various embodiments comprise a push button air control valve that actuates incremental regulation of the air flow volume to the venturi jet.

  • Patent number: 7143456
Abstract: A device for a sanitary tub, for producing a massage stream of air and water has an accommodation device that can be attached at an opening in the tub body of the sanitary tub, for accommodating an electric motor having a drive shaft. A propeller having a hub is attached to the drive shaft, and blades are arranged radially around the hub. A collar is arranged on the accommodation device, positioned within the sanitary tub, having edge-side inflow openings as well as a center outlet opening. The propeller draws in water located in the sanitary tub, through the inflow openings, and subsequently transports it back into the sanitary tub through the outlet opening. The accommodation device has a flow channel for feeding in air, which exits through the outlet opening, through an air channel arranged in the hub and with the stream of water transported by the propeller. Fan vanes for transporting air are arranged within the air channel of the hub.

Abstract: A care or treatment attachment for a foot care apparatus, comprising at least one movable care or treatment element as well as a coupling piece, with which the attachment can be connected to the movement of a motor-driven driving shaft 8 inside the foot care apparatus 6. The attachment comprises a housing which is secured in position on the housing so that driving movement transmitted from the driving shaft does not move the housing. A coupling piece is movable mounted in housing and is supported movably corresponding to the driving movement transmitted from driving shaft of the foot care apparatus. The coupling piece at the driven side drives a power converter for the conversion of the driving movement into a differing movement which powers the one or more movable care or treatment attachments.

  • Patent number: 6792627
Abstract: An aerated bath 26 is disclosed comprising a plurality of receptacles 10 on the outside of the bath, each receptacle being in communication with the interior of the bath through one or a plurality of openings 16, and fluid supply means 20 connected to some or all of the receptacles characterised in that the receptacles are shallow and of a relatively smooth internal configuration. Preferably, the internal configuration of the receptacles is a part spherical dish. The smooth internal surface reduces locations where moisture can be trapped. Preferably also, the receptacle is made from a material, especially a plastics material, which is hydrophobic which therefore resists wetting by bath water. The plastics material is preferably easily machinable, and tough and durable, and may be selected from known plastics materials of this type such as nylon, polyethylene terephthalate, and the like.

  • Patent number: 6775863
Abstract: A switching assembly that can be used on a spa, pool, bathtub, or aquarium shell without the need to form a hole in the shell. The switching assembly includes an actuator that is mounted on an interior surface of the shell and is exposed at least in part to water held by the shell. The actuator may be mounted above or below the water line. The switching assembly also includes a switch that is responsive to the actuator and is mounted on the opposite, exterior surface of the shell. The switch responds to stimulus from the actuator without the need to form a hole in the shell between the switch and the actuator. The actuator may include a magnet that produces a magnetic field, and the switch may include a reed switch, which changes state in response to the absence or presence of the magnetic field generated by the actuator magnet. The magnet may be supported by a button attached to the shell, and the button protects the magnet from exposure to water and chemicals held in the shell.
