    Abstract: Systems, apparatus, and methods related to electronic vehicle plates are described herein. In some embodiments, an apparatus includes a display plate and an electronic display. The display plate is configured to be disposed between a license plate and an exterior of a vehicle when the license plate is mounted to the exterior of the vehicle. The electronic display is coupled to the display plate such that at least a portion of the electronic display is visible through an aperture in the license plate when the license plate is mounted to the exterior of the vehicle. The electronic display is configured to display a status indicator of the vehicle through the aperture in the license plate.

Dynamic changes to the ticket characteristic include multimedia changes or other presentation data, including text, sound (audio), animation, video, still pictures, or some combination thereof. The active ticket can have different states in it's life cycle, such as purchased, validated, invalid for certain events. Also the ticket service provider or issuer can send new control data to change the characteristic and/or contents of the active ticket.

The image can be applied directly to the rotating member or applied to an insert. An adapter mount is provided for fastening the multi-image license plate assembly to a vehicle.
