Flaccid Type Patents (Class 40/499)
  • Patent number: 6609318
Abstract: The display device, according to the present invention, is adaptable to use a cartridge of flexible material terminating at each end in a tubular element. The display device comprises a pair of spool-rod means, each one of the pair of spool-rod means including rod means, first handle means axially connected at one end of the rod means, and second handle means outwardly extending at the other end of the rod means. The rod and first handle means are provided with attaching means for detachably connecting the rod and first handle means. The display device exposes text and/or images to be viewed as consecutive incremental portions of the flexible material, which is adapted to be rolled or unrolled.

  • Patent number: 6381888
Abstract: A device for successively changing elongated flexible sheets or similar flexible objects from an active position to non-active positions includes a drum, relative to which the sheets or similar flexible objects are fixed. The drum is rotatable in two opposing rotational directions. The rotational directions of the drum are controlled by a timing device in relation to the rotational speed of the motor so that rotation takes place in a first direction for such a time that the sheet located in the active position becomes wound up onto the drum and that a second sheet, located in the first rotational direction after the first sheet, is carried to a position from which the second sheet is unwound from the drum to the active position, upon rotation of the drum in the other rotational direction. Thereafter the drum is rotated in the other rotational direction for such a time that the second sheet becomes unwound from the drum.

  • Patent number: 5233771
Abstract: An apparatus for randomly and successively selecting and displaying each one out of a stack of banners comprises a wind-in roller around which the entire stack of banners is wound, front face down, with the leading edges of the banners being staggered in an overlapping arrangement on the periphery of the wound stack. A knife bears against the periphery of the stack, compacts and constringes the banners as the wind-in roller is rotated in the direction opposite the winding direction of the stack. The rotation is stopped when the leading edge of the selected banner is near the edge of the knife. The rotation of the wind-in roller is reversed, causing the knife to lift the leading edge of the selected banner and to peel off that banner and all other banners located above it in the stack. A wind-out mechanism places the peeled off banners into a display frame with the inner, front face of the selected one exposed to view.

  • Patent number: 4658524
Abstract: A storage and selectable display device for sheet media includes an enclosure having a slot. A rotatable spool is secured within the enclosure. A leader assembly attaches the sheets to the spool so that the free edges of the sheets are circumferentially disposed about the spool when rolled up. Individual leaders are attached to a master leader and charts are attached to the individual leaders. An actuator connected through a clutch rotates the spool to wind the sheets. Opposite rotation is prevented by the clutch. Belts frictionally engage a portion of the outermost surface of the spool and rolled sheets. Shafts are provided to hold the belts in position. The belt drive shaft is connected to the actuator by gearing and a clutch. The clutch actuates in the unwind direction, but not in the opposite direction. A flexible, resilient, transparent window has one edge which resiliently engages the rolled charts. An alternative ejection system includes a lay shaft and frictionally engaged idler roller.
