  • Patent number: 4550516
Abstract: Disclosed is a picture viewer for viewing a stack of pictures sequentially through a viewing window. The picture viewer comprises a housing member, a slider member, a bias means for urging the stack of pictures against the viewing window, and an exchange means for sequentially changing the picture that is presented at the viewing window. The exchange means comprises: (a) a retentive element to hold one picture in the housing member when the slider member is moved out of the housing member and (b) a separator bar which pushes the remainder of the stack out of the housing when the slider member is moved out of the housing. To permit relatively smooth operation of the picture viewer, the bias means is mounted on the slider.

  • Patent number: 4254567
Abstract: A card index comprises a housing containing a drawer which holds a stack of punched cards. All the cards have punched holes in which a row of dogs in the bottom of the drawer engage and the cards also have punched selection holes in which selection stop cams can engage. Each card has selection holes in register with all of the stop cams except one. To select a card, a button corresponding to the card is pressed and this rocks a key lever to move the corresponding stop cam downwards. The cam passes through the selection holes in all the cards until it reaches the selected card which has no hole in register with that cam. Accordingly, the selected card and the cards, if any, below are pressed downwards and are held on the dogs. The drawer is released by depression of the button and is opened by a spring. As it opens, the drawer moves the cards which are pressed down on the dogs out of the housing with the selected card on top, but the cards above the selected card are retained in the housing by the stop cam.

  • Patent number: 4249329
Abstract: A slide viewer/sorter having a chute oriented at an incline to horizontal which is adapted to receive a photographic slide at one end. The slide drops by force of gravity to a viewing station where it is held by a detent. After viewing the slide the detent is actuated to release the slide which is transported by force of gravity to the lower end of the chute where it drops into a first receptacle. The first receptacle is rotatably mounted so that it can be moved out of the way, thus allowing the slide to drop further down into a second receptacle, having a number of bins. The second receptacle is mounted so that any bin can be positioned under the chute. This allows the operator of the viewer/sorter to sort the slides into two or more different stacks.

  • Patent number: 4225044
Abstract: A slide magazine for storing slide frames having an edge portion of a predetermined configuration, includes a housing having a bottom surface which is provided with formations operative for holding slide frames in the housing. The formations are shaped so as to matingly complement the configuration of the edge portion of the slide frames to thereby prevent the latter from falling out of the housing. The distance between two adjacent formations as considered lengthwise of the bottom surface corresponds to the thickness of the slide frames to be installed on the slide magazine. Thus, an overall length of a set of the slide frames filling the magazine corresponds to the length of the bottom surface so that the slide magazine requires substantially no more space than the set of slide frames in it.
