  • Patent number: 4292751
Abstract: A roll type display sign for a pump is disclosed having an upper bracket mounted to slide across an upper edge of a frame surrounding a pump face. A spring biased roller is mounted to the upper bracket and a display sheet is mounted to the roller such that the sheet is movable between a retracted position, in which the display sheet is wrapped around the roller, and an extended position, in which the display sheet extends across and substantially parallel to a portion of the pump face. The sign also includes a lower bracket mounted to a lower frame edge. This lower bracket is provided with three hooks spaced across the length of the lower edge which engage a loop member mounted to a cross bar attached to an edge of the display sheet. By sliding the upper bracket into an appropriate position and hooking the loop defining member about an appropriate one of the three hooks, the display sheet can be positioned over any one of three portions of the pump face.

  • Patent number: 4195430
Abstract: A support for use in conjunction with self-coiling indicia-carrying sheets in a movable indicia display utilizes two identical backing members, and two identical end members, a total of only four parts. Sheet metal is used, and roll retainers are integrally formed on the backing members, as are intermediate edge guides for the indicia-carrying sheets. The end members serve as edge guides, and also provide support for the ends of the roll retainers. The entire assembly is fastener-free, cooperating tabs and slots being used to secure the parts together. In a modified version, each end member is permanently secured to one of the backing members so that the support comprises only two separable parts, which are identical to each other. In another modification, adapted to be viewed from only one side, only one backing member is used.

  • Patent number: 4144664
Abstract: A weatherproof display device for changeable display signs to be mounted on a gasoline dispensing pump comprising a transparent weatherproof cover for holding changeable printed display cards depicting the prices and taxes applicable to the gasoline being dispensed. The device includes a thin rectangular box assembly formed by interlocking front and back panels made of a transparent material having a base assembly forming a mounting pedestal and a secured cap forming its top edge and serving as its cover. Insertion and withdrawal of the price display cards is accomplished by lifting the thin rectangular box assembly from its mounting pedestal base assembly, each of which is printed permanently with a specific set of price and tax conditions. The dimensions of each display card conform substantially to the height and width of the transparent panels, and are duplicated so as to be visible from each side.
