  • Patent number: 4745696
Abstract: A visual marker for indicating or identifying rolled drawings provides a marker member in the form of a flat disc with a boss on a rear surface of the disc. A wire loop has ends turned inwardly for receipt as a press-fit in a slot defined in the boss. The ends define an axis which can rotate within the slot so that a front face of the disc can either be positioned at right angles to the plane of the loop for presenting axially from the end of the rolled drawing or substantially in the plane of the loop for facing upwardly when the loop is positioned horizontally between planar sheet or, for example, a stack of paper.

  • Patent number: 4411084
Abstract: A display having mechanically changeable characters and a support for the display are disclosed. The display comprises an array of mechanical flip-flop elements which can each be rotated between two orientations exposing one of two visually different sides. The flip-flop elements are bars secured resiliently by springs to a frame in such a manner that each flip-flop element can be manually pulled away from the frame, rotated to change its orientation, and released to snap back against the frame. The flip-flop elements are arranged in groups of seven, each group having its seven flip-flop elements arranged into two adjacent quadrilaterals of equal size, one flip-flop element being common to both quadrilaterals. Channels are provided on the rear side of the frame to receive the springs. Various lengths for the flip-flop elements are disclosed. The support maintains the display in an elevated position and draws up the display by means of a retractable cable. A securement device holds the display up.

  • Patent number: 4155185
Abstract: Constructions are provided in molded indicia such as letters and numbers which may be easily assembled together to form words and other formations. Individual moldings in the shape of alphabetical and/or numerical characters are each provided with a plurality of through openings extending in either the horizontal or vertical directions permitting the moldings to be assembled against a rod, wire or elongated flexible member or members to form assemblies representative of words or other intelligence. In a preferred form, each molding is composed of two half parts or formations which, when properly assembled, represent a particular alphabetical or numerical character. The formations frictionally or otherwise assembled together to form the character are each shaped with a rim which either snap assembles over a rod, tube, strip or string or contains indented portions along the rim which compressibly engage said rod, strip, tube or string to retain the molding against that portion thereof which it engages.

  • Patent number: 4091554
Abstract: A medallion or the like for displaying letters or monograms in which the individual letters can be inserted or removed to permit any combination of letters to be displayed. The medallion, which can be used as a belt buckle, pin, clasp or other decorative or ornamental device, utilizes individual flat letters mounted tangentially on tubular members. The tubular members are slidable on a supporting rod. The ends of the rod are removably attached to one side of a slightly bowed metal plate having an elongated opening, the rod extending lengthwise of the opening on the concave side of the plate with the letters bridging the width of the opening on the convex side of the plate. The letters are held in position by the clamping action between the letters and one side of the plate and the anchored ends of the rod on the other side of the plate.
