Abstract: A fastening system and method to secure a light panel to the rear of a picture frame through the use of dual locking refittable fasteners in combination with retainers of the frame. The versatile thin illumination assembly system, consisting of the combination of the light panel and mounting system, can be applied to most existing display frames, thus converting a non-illuminated picture frame to an illuminated picture frame. The system when coupled with a frame creates an open backing that maintains the original light panel housing and eliminates heat buildup or dissipation complications often experienced with closed mounting systems. The mounting system and method requires no additional tools for the assembly process, and the resulting frame assembly is thin and easy to assemble.

Abstract: An image reproducing apparatus having a small size and which is highly portable reproduces an image contained within a hologram or holographic stereogram. In one embodiment, when a movable section movably attached to an apparatus body is moved from a first position, in which the movable section abuts the apparatus body, to a second position in which the movable section and apparatus body are separated, illumination light from a light source is irradiated at a predetermined incidence angle onto a hologram or holographic stereogram attached to a hologram attach section. In other embodiments, light from a light source is reflected from an edge portion of a light transmitting member, or from a separately provided mirror, to be irradiated at a predetermined angle onto the hologram or holographic stereogram.

Abstract: The invention described herein permits decorative or other lighting of a transparent and translucent surface, and an opaque decorative service by placing a light source within a frame and contacting the light source with the transparent or translucent surface. The light source may also be located within the frame between the transparent or translucent surface and the opaque decorative surface. The transparent, translucent surface and the opaque decorative surface may be eroded in one or more places to provide contrasting images on the transparent surface, the translucent surface and the opaque decorative surface. The transparent, translucent surface and the opaque decorative surface may also be at least partially painted.

Abstract: A photographic display box is formed as an enclosure with a plurality of display faces and opposing ends. A plurality of photographs are located within the enclosure and between the ends and behind the display faces of the box. Retainers within the box hold the photographs with their longitudinal edges parallel to each other and with their transverse, upper and lower edges flexed in a concave disposition facing outwardly toward the display faces of the box. The photographs are located between transverse upper and lower transparent or translucent panels. Electrical illumination fixtures located in illumination cavities between these panels and the ends of the display box shine upon the concave faces of the photographs through the nonopaque panels with direct illumination.

Abstract: The present wall art picture is comprised of a front panel display board and a rear panel enclosing board mounted in a frame. A poster featuring the graphical image of a light-emitting object is mounted to the outer surface of the front panel display board. A hole is made in the front panel display board through the light-emitting object depicted in the graphical image. A non-flammable bushing is positioned through the hole and an electric lamp assembly is positioned within the bushing. The bushing is comprised of a cylindrical tube with a flange at an inner end. The flange is positioned and adhered flush against the rear surface of the front panel display board. A shoulder is arranged inside the tube facing the flange to hold the lamp assembly in place and prevent it from passing completely through the tube. The potentially flammable front panel display board is insulated by the bushing from the heat producing surfaces of the lamp assembly for safety.

Abstract: A display apparatus for an art work includes a work support structure on which the art work rests; a power source; and an electric power circuit containing a light source oriented toward the work and a switch wired to a sensor for detecting the approach of a person, and upon detection to close the switch and thereby activate the light source to illuminate the work. The light source preferably is a low heat, substantially full visible spectrum light source. The light source preferably includes a fluorescent bulb and a reflector adjacent to the fluorescent bulb, the reflector being oriented relative to the fluorescent bulb to direct light from the fluorescent bulb toward the art work. The apparatus preferably additionally includes a timer, where the sensor is connected to the timer to shut off the switch a pre-set length of time after the moment of the last detected motion or body heat.

Abstract: A display device for illuminating non-opaque materials and non-opaque mediums upon their surface while simultaneously illuminating a three-dimensional object. An interior light source is arranged to be enclosed within a plurality of non-opaque materials and the cabinet or mold for which they are designed. The energized light illuminates and enhances non-opaque mediums upon the artists' media surface and simultaneously illuminates a three-dimensional object. A further object of the display device is the novel method of mounting non-opaque artwork in the cabinet. The cabinet top (3) is removed, and non-opaque materials (2) can be inserted or removed from the base (7). The individual frame (5&6) for the non-opaque materials (2) covers the portion of the non-opaque materials (5) which will not illuminate. The cabinet top (3) locks laterally in place because of the non-opaque materials. An artists' stencil to prescribe outlines and/or numbers within those outlines using non-opaque mediums.

Abstract: A novelty card lighting device is disclosed. The lighting device is relatively small so as to be hand held and portable. The light is directed at a predefined angle such that the three dimensional illusion of a hologram card is presented to the viewer when the device is hand held at normal arm's length, set upon a surface in front of the viewer, or hung on the wall. The light is swingably mounted in the device and such a swinging is actuated from an exterior portion of the housing. The actuator may be mechanical or include an electromechanical servo. A mount for the novelty card pivots out from the rear of the device for placement of the card in an inset formed in the mount. When the mount swings closed, the novelty card is sandwiched between the mount and a viewing glass covering at least a portion of an opening formed by the housing or frame.

A plurality of item pressing members are connected to an interior portion of the back housing portion. A front housing portion includes a housing connector for connecting the front housing portion to the back housing portion. The front housing portion includes a plurality of item retainers and a plurality of windows placed in registration with the item retainers. A plurality of infant stimulus items are retained in the item retainers. The item retainers are placed in registration with the item pressing members when the front housing portion and the back housing portion are placed in a closed orientation. A housing lock assembly is connected between the back housing portion and the front housing portion, for keeping the back housing portion and the front housing portion closed with respect to each other.

Abstract: An inserted screen type photo illuminator stand, comprising a base seat and a light emitting base plate inserted into the base seat in an inserted screen manner. The base seat includes a bottom plate and a box cover. On the bottom plate are provided a light source, a battery box and AC, DC power sockets and a power switch is mounted on the base seat. The base plate is a light homogenizing plate which is inserted upright into the base seat in an inserted screen manner and which can be pulled out from the base seat if necessary. At the top of the base plate is provided a clip which is used to clip a photo or picture. The bottom side light radiated from the light source in the base seat enter through the bottom side of the base plate, made of transparent plate with back side painted in white, so that the whole base plate is full of homogenized rays of light and as a result the photo or picture covered on the base plate can be fully displayed.

Abstract: An illuminating apparatus is formed with an ultraviolet lamp and at least one incandescent lamps that repeat a predetermined illumination pattern in which the lamps are turned on, gradually brightened within a predetermined period, gradually dimmed out within a predetermined period subsequent to a period for the maximum illumination thereof, and then turned off, to light a picture, which is supported on a frame to which the illuminating apparatus is attached, to be recognized as nighttime and daytime views with natural changes therebetween.

Abstract: An illuminated display. The illuminated display comprises a cylindrical hollow housing capable of passing illumination therethrough that has an upper end and a lower end, wherein the upper end is open and the lower end is closed, and a cylindrical wall which forms the open upper end and is also connected to the closed lower end. The housing wall has an outer surface and an inner surface. Additionally, the housing wall has at least one opening disposed between the upper end and the lower end. At least one light source is located inside the housing and is operatively connected to the opening. There is also a cap that has a top and a bottom. The cap bottom is adapted to fit inside the housing upper end. A substantially cylindrical sleeve capable of passing illumination therethrough is adapted to closely fit about the outer surface of the wall.

Abstract: A picture illumination display device (10) comprising a picture frame (12). A one-way mirror (14) is in the picture frame (12), so that when a person normally looks into the one-way mirror (14) a reflection will be seen. A picture (16) is carried in the picture frame (12) behind the one-way mirror (14). A facility (18) behind the picture (16), is for producing light. Once the light producing facility (18) is activated an image of the picture (16) will be projected through the one-way mirror (14), to allow a person looking into the one-way mirror (14) to see the projected image from the picture (16).

Abstract: The present invention is an illuminating frame which is used for holding and displaying paintings, drawings, lithographs or artworks. It utilizes a strip of light to illuminate a plurality of glass etchings which are retained within the frame. The strip of light is sitting on an interior ledge of the frame. By having the strip of light around the entire interior circumference of the frame, the strip of light provides a nice visual effect on the glass etchings. The frame can accommodate more glass etchings if so desired.

Abstract: A picture-combined fire extinguisher is characterized by a glass-shelled extinguisher having a frame, to which a show window is pivotally connected. The show window consists of a clear panel, and an outer frame which extends backward and inward to form a space allowing a picture to be inserted therein behind the panel. Luminous and protective pads are provided at corners of the frame of the extinguisher so that the extinguisher may be easily and timely identified and accessed even in a dark place or in the nighttime without lighting. Meanwhile, the picture-combined fire extinguisher functions not only as a fire extinguisher but also as an aesthetic article.

Abstract: A transparent acrylic sheet carries a mirrored coating on its back surface. The sheet has a ground front surface that has a layer of fluorescent paint, or, alternatively, a translucent layer of diluted fluorescent paint applied thereto. The fluorescent paint layer carries a cibachrome image transparency. Light passes through an edge of the sheet to the ground surface where it is diffused and amplified by the excitation of the fluorescent particles in the fluorescent paint. The amplified, diffused light illuminates a back surface of the transparency, thereby providing a display of an illuminated image to an observer who views a front surface of the transparency.

Abstract: A sound producing control circuit assembly includes a box covered with a fixed supporting board and fastened to a picture frame at the back to hold a sound producing circuit. A movable conductive board is supported on springs above the fixed supporting board and is urged against the glass of the picture frame to hold down a picture. The fixed supporting board has a first contact metal plate and a second contact metal plate with contact legs spaced above the first contact metal plate for controlling the operation of the sound producing circuit. When the glass is pressed against the movable conductive plate, at least one contact leg of the second contact metal plate is forced to contact the first contact metal plate causing the sound producing circuit to be electrically connected to thereby produce sound.
