Abstract: A user-configurable template assembly for aligning a plurality of pictures or other objects on a surface comprising a plurality of elongate guide members and a plurality of connector members. Each connector member is configured to engage an end of one or more guide members and maintain the plurality of guide members in an orthogonal array. The template array is ideally configured to align commonly sized pictures in a decorative manner. The guide members and connectors incorporate standardized interface connections providing interchangeability in parts and maximizing template array assembly options.

Abstract: A frame assembly comprising an outer frame and a divider that divides a display opening of the outer frame into at least a first display window and a second display window. In one embodiment, the divider is molded while components of the outer frame are extruded. In another embodiment, the divider is coupled to the outer frame by sandwiching a portion of the divider between a glazing and the outer frame, and wherein relative movement between the divider and the outer frame is prohibited by interference between retaining features of one or both of the divider and the outer frame. The divider can be removed from the outer frame by simply removing the glazing and taking the divider out of the rabbet without damaging the outer frame. The same outer frame can be used without the divider. In another embodiment, the materials of the outer frame and divider are selected to achieve low cost production with improved visual characteristics.

Abstract: A system, apparatus, kit, and method is disclosed to organize and configure pictures in a desired image on a surface without needing to determine the alignment of individual pictures. The pictures are generally organized to create a shape, letter, word, or object that is separate and distinct from the shape of the pictures creating the image. Therefore, a series of pictures of one or more size, configuration, orientation, and or shape may be used in combination to create the image. A picture template is therefore provided having a base with an exterior boarder, and a plurality of holes in the base. The plurality of holes are arranged such that an exterior perimeter circumscribing the plurality of holes creates the desired image.

Abstract: An image display apparatus (10) for displaying one or more images (20) such as photographs. The image (20) is mounted on a raised portion (14) around which is arranged a further raised portion (16) as a mounting panel (8). The portions are separated to provide a gap (30) there between which gives the illusion that the image and the mounting panel (18) are floating. This effect accentuates the image which is additionally enhanced by the choice of color of the mounting panel (18). The portions are located on a backing panel which extends beyond the perimeter of the mounting panel to provide an additional framing feature. The backing panel (12) and mounting panel (18) are made of durably rigid materials such as Perspex® or aluminum so that the apparatus can be mounted without a frame.

Abstract: An efficient system and method for mounting an image composed of a plurality of subimages comprises a back panel onto which the subimages are mounted, and a transparent or translucent cover plate. In the preferred embodiment, the images are printed on borderless labels having a low-tack or low-aggressive type adhesive. The back panel and transparent cover plate are preferably dimensionally the same, and both may include aligned through-holes. The back panel may includes visual indicia such as score lines or alpha/numeric placement indicia to aid in mounting the subimages. The back panel and cover plate are preferably held together with a plurality of clips. An assembly method is also disclosed.

Abstract: The present invention is a frame divider, which is used to provide an existing frame with the capability to increase the number of frame openings using spline members. The present invention comprises a frame insert, a plurality of frame openings and either a spline member or a plurality of spline members. The frame insert comprises an insert opening, an inner edge and an outer edge. These spline members comprise a plurality of spline ends which are affixed to the inner edge of the frame insert. The spline members can be linear, nonlinear or a combination of both. The frame openings are delineated by the spline members and the inner edge. The present invention is applied to an existing frame by being inserted into the rabbet of the frame. The arrangement of the spline members should be customizable to a user.

The frame assembly comprises an arrangement of multiple graphic display receiving support rails connected to at least one loading rail. The rails are joined by an “L” shaped connector at the outer corners thereof, wherein at least one internal rail is connected between the support rails so as to define a plurality of rails to peripherally support a plurality of display panels within the frame assembly. The support rails and the internal rail each have extensive support flanges for supportive guided receipt of a graphic display panel.

Abstract: A frame block for use in displaying typically flat planar rectangular objects such as photographs comprises two parallel planar areas, at least one such area having a plurality of grooves and associated ridges. The grooves and ridges each have a predetermined width and an associated length. The grooves are cut into a surface of the frame block and have a predetermined depth for receiving a clear plastic protector frame for an object to be displayed. The grooves and ridges form an area for display in which a two- or three-sided clear plastic protector frame may be mounted, each of which protects the object to the displayed. When standing on a side with the grooves horizontally aligned to said side, the frame block area is adapted to receive a three-sided protector and associated object at a location within the area selected by a user, two opposite sides of the three-sided protector being received into two horizontally aligned grooves.

Abstract: A system for displaying photographs is disclosed. The system includes one or more horizontal members or bars that are secured to a wall, such as a wall of a house. The horizontal members are preferably immovably secured, as by wall anchors or nails. The horizontal members preferably include a profile, such as a shaped, hollow cross-sectional area, that is configured to mount two or more vertical members. Two or more vertical members or bars are then secured to the horizontal members. The vertical members may be mounted using the profiles, channels, or grooves of the horizontal members. They may be mounted using a connection stud, a tab or a clamp, such as a spring clamp. The vertical members preferably also include continuous, vertical grooves on their sides, for placing photographs into the grooves for display.

The first guiding ramp and the second guiding ramp allows an edge of an album cover to be guided into the recessed groove.

Abstract: An improved structure of a picture display frame comprising a framework, a picture and a grating plate, wherein the picture has more than one image, and is assembled with the grating plate in the framework. The grating plate has a smooth plane surface facing outwards of the framework and has an undulated surface formed from a series of columns facing inwards of the framework and are opposite to the picture spaced therefrom, a gap is formed between the picture and the grating plate; the gap is set to be equal to depth of focusing of the columns of the grating plate formed in refraction of light beams. The surface of the grating plate can be applied by spraying with scraping durable paint, it needs not to increase the thickness of the grating plate for having a deep focus and a good stereographic effect, this largely reduces the cost of the grating plate.

Display items are supported between the front facing and rear facing. Retainers of various types may be used to hold the components in place. Supports are described for mounting or otherwise displaying the display device of the present invention.

The channels are for receiving upper and lower respective edges of items to be displayed. The back panel has an elongated score or notch extending along its length capable of separating the panel into an upper frame member and a lower frame member. The front of the display housing is open for removably securing a plurality of separate display items from the front.

Abstract: An article and method for providing a theme representation template for a collage display. The article, in an embodiment thereof, enables a template in the form of a representation of a theme to be overlaid on a collage of materials assembled so as to be visible through cutout portions of the theme representation template. It also enables enhanced formatting of collage materials for theme viewing and displaying thereof.

Abstract: A picture frame and hanging system for hanging and displaying fine art and documents in a level and secure fashion by means of a perforated metal frame covered in acrylic glass with a length and a width and a metal or acrylic C-Rail with a length and a width connected by metal fasteners and metal pins. A first fastener, such as washers, nuts and bolts are provided on the perforated metal frame to attach the acrylic glass to the front of the frame. A second fastener is provided such as metal pins to attach the metal frame to the metal or acrylic C-rail provided. A third fastener is provided such as a L-bracket with holes, in a length and a width to adapt the C-rail to any picture frame needed.

Thereafter, a planar article holder having a plurality of pockets wherein each pocket corresponds in shape and location to an associated cutout in the mat, is then positioned flatly against the planar mat. Each pocket is designed to hold one flat article for display. The pocket panel may be made from a transparent or translucent material so that a paper or like object contained within a pocket in the pocket panel is visible from outside the pocket.

Abstract: A display mat includes a display panel and a backing panel having a photographic print and a verse panel positioned therebetween. The display panel has a plurality of symmetrical display openings therein through which the photographic print and verse panel are displayed. The symmetrical display openings may be of different sizes and shapes and the number of display openings may vary. A verse panel is provided and has the verse applied to one surface thereof in two locations arranged ninety degrees with respect to each other for selection of a verse to fit and match a symmetrical display opening in the display panel.

Abstract: Shadowboxes traditionally have been used to show, and at the same time protect, hobbyist's items on display. The arrival of limited edition collectibles has led to a revival of the crafts of fabricating, not only shadowboxes, but other multiple compartment storage cases for use by hobbyists. Unfortunately the compartments in such cases cannot meet all of the size and shape requirements needed for various items now being collected. Such shadowboxes and stowage cases are not quite practical because they must be made to order. They also are not useable by artists and others desiring storage compartments that are not visible. Provided herein are multiple compartment storage cases that meet the stowage requirements for a wide variety of articles because they can be assembled by the user.

The picture compartment includes an automatically adjusting, removable rear picture support removably mounted within the picture compartment.

Abstract: A display case is provided for displaying collectible items such as photographs, trading cards, stamps or coins. The display case includes a compartment for holding the collectible and a magnifying lens for viewing the details of at least one side of the collectible. An opening is provided in the compartment to allow the insertion of the collectible. The collectible is sealed in the compartment by a seal. By sealing the collectible within the compartment of such a display case, the collectible is not only protected from physical damage, it is also protected from exposure to moisture, air and any airborne contaminants. The magnifying lens permits the details of the collectible to be viewed without fear of damage to the collectible as may occur with physical handling. The seal may be either temporary or permanent. A temporary seal is useful where a collector desires to display different collectibles in a single display case at different times.
