Rotatable Disc Scriber Patents (Class 400/20)
  • Patent number: 5108203
Abstract: A printing apparatus includes a print wheel having a vertical lien character, a minus symbol character, and an underline symbol character. A first control moves a carriage on which the print wheel is mounted at one of two pitches and a second control advances a printing paper for receiving printing at one of two pitches in a direction generally perpendicular to the direction of movement of the carriage. Respective keys select the vertical line character and underline character for printing and the printing and paper-advancing pitches. One key signals repeat actuation of either the key selecting the vertical line character or the underline character and a memory stores actuation of the key for selecting the vertical line character. Printing of a vertical line character and advancement of paper is achieved by a control in response to actuation of the repeat signaling key, if the memory stores actuation of the vertical character key.

  • Patent number: 4363557
Abstract: A marking device for a shorthand machine selectively marks the margins of the paper tape output of the shorthand machine to denote a portion of the shorthand notes for ready reference. The activating keys for the device are located in close proximity with the machine keyboard, whereby the operator may activate the device with minimal interruption of the recording process. Disposable marking instruments may be employed in the device. Incorporation of the device in the machine cover preserves the first planar surface of the cover and further, facilitates storage of the device when not in use.

  • Patent number: 4270866
Abstract: An attachment for installation upon a typewriter for applying musical notations to a sheet material and comprising a frame pivotally mounted on the typewriter body, the frame including a bridging member at one end of the frame adjacent the platen of the typewriter and a secondary keyboard at the opposite end of the frame. The bridging member carries rotatable, axially parallel cylindrical members spaced along the length thereof and oriented generally vertically to engage plural rollers oriented axially parallel to the platen and engaged thereagainst. The secondary keyboard carries individual keys, each having depending stems selectively engageable with a spring biased lever when a selected one of said keys is depressed. The keys each represent an imprinting location on a musical staff for application of the musical characters controlled by the principal keyboard of the typewriter.
