Including Means Facilitating Opening Of Enclosure Patents (Class 400/690.4)
  • Patent number: 9283781
Abstract: A cutting apparatus which avoids exposing a fixed blade mounted in a lid portion even when the lid portion is opened. A fixed blade 40 is arranged so that a blade surface 40b faces the upstream side in the direction of transport of a printed medium 1. A cover 48 is slidably mounted on the fixed blade 40, is configured to cover a cutting edge line 40a of the fixed blade 40 from the side of the blade surface 40b when a lid portion 13 is released, and may be slid toward a root of the fixed blade 40 to expose the cutting edge line 40a of the fixed blade 40 when the lid portion 13 is closed.

  • Patent number: 8783985
Abstract: A printing machine has at least one central impression cylinder, to which several inking units are allocated, in which a printing material sheet can be fed along a feed path to the impression cylinder in an area between a first inking unit and a last inking unit, and an unwinding station, from which the printing material sheet can be unwound, in which a passable area is provided between the impression cylinder and the unwinding station, at which the printing material sheet can be passed. Sound-absorbing elements are arranged above and/or beneath the feed path.

  • Patent number: 7704001
Abstract: A door main body of a door unit is swingably supported at a casing main body by a hinge mechanism. A conveying guide part is configured to guide conveying of a recording medium. A positioning contact part is configured to be in contact with a main-body-side contact part when the door unit is closed, thereby positioning the conveying guide part with respect to the casing main body. A locking mechanism is provided on a first side with respect to the positioning contact part. The hinge mechanism is provided on a second side that is opposite to the first side. The urging member is configured to apply an urging force to a predetermined part of the door main body. The predetermined part is located on the second side, thereby increasing contact pressure between the positioning contact part and the main-body-side contact part.

  • Patent number: 7419319
Abstract: An image forming apparatus having a housing that includes a front face, a rear wall, a pair of side walls, a bottom surface, and a top surface with a discharge surface formed therein. A cover, having a planar upper surface, is mounted on protrusions extending along each side of the top surface. The discharge surface is formed between the protrusions and has a depth proximate the rear wall that is greater than a depth proximate the front face. A cutout is formed between the cover and the front face, the cutout being in either the cover or the front face which allows discharge of the printed material. The printed material when discharged onto the discharge surface extends beyond the front face.

  • Patent number: 6786662
Abstract: This invention relates to a cover attached to an output device that is connected to an imaging device. The purpose for this cover is to avoid output motion and media movement detection in high security areas, such as banks, insurance companies or the like. Such structures of this type, generally, provide an alert mechanism to the imaging device to forward the printed output to the covered output device.

  • Patent number: 6612763
Abstract: A laser beam printer includes a front face. The front face defines an opening for allowing attaching/detaching a paper feed cassette, an opening for allowing attaching/detaching a process unit, and an opening allowing manual paper feed. Accordingly, the laser beam printer has excellent operability since it allows the user to perform any operation from its front side. At the same time, valuable space at the lateral and upper sides of the laser beam printer is available for effective use.

  • Patent number: 6406200
Abstract: A printer assembly with lateral and longitudinal self-alignment. The printer assembly has a frame, a door which swings open, a motor-driven platen disposed on the door, a print head movably disposed on the frame so as to engage the platen, and a spring coupled to the print head so as to produce both backward force to urge the print head against the platen when the door is closed and torque to rotate the print head upwardly when the door is opened. The frame is provided with a semi-cylindrical paper well and a generally triangular shape for ease of access to the paper well.

  • Patent number: 6394674
Abstract: There is disclosed a lightweight portable printer having a frame or housing with a print head and a cooperable platen roll mounted in the housing. The housing pivotally mounts a subassembly. The subassembly mounts an electric motor and gearing driven by the motor for driving the platen roll. The subassembly is resiliently urged to press the print head against the platen roll. The printer has a front door which provides access to the inside of the housing. The front door mounts the platen roll, a label delaminator, a pressure roll, a holder for mounting a supply roll of labels or tags, and a latch for latching the door to the housing and for camming the pressure roll into and out of cooperation with the platen roll.
