Abstract: A highlighter marker with a unique scent. The marker is used to highlight printed or written textual material. During the highlighting event, the unique scent evaporates from the ink. A memory link is thereby established between the unique scent and the highlighting event. Subsequently, when the cap of the highlighter marker is opened, the unique scent of the highlighter ink is detected, triggering recall of the highlighted text. A memory aid is thereby provided, which enhances the remembrance of previously highlighted material.

A color changing eradicating fluid is disclosed which includes a volatile base, a pH sensitive dye and an eradicating agent whereby the dye changes color as the volatile base evaporates thereby provided a visual indication to the user when the eradicating fluid is sufficiently dry and ready to receive a corrected marking. A non-color changing eradicating fluid having a more moderate pH is also disclosed. The combination eradicable and re-write ink is disclosed which features phosphoric acid (or phosphorus pentoxide in solution) along with an eradicable dye. A combination writing and correction instrument that combines a disclosed eradicating fluid and a combination eradicable and re-write ink is also disclosed.

Abstract: The invention relates to a double-duty applicator for solid and liquid mediums, comprising a columned bearer and an outer tube combined to contain solid medium, and extending from a double-stage columned base. At the other end of said base is fixed a soft tube containing liquid medium. Said outer tube covers the outside of the bearer, with inner threads on the inner wall therein, which matches with outer threads of the bearer. The bottom end of the outer tube is fixed outside a smaller columned flange of the base through fastening slots, and a limiting mechanism is positioned between the bottom of the bearer and the base to limit the turning of the bearer. The invention adds a liquid medium applicator to the conventional solid medium applicator structure, and combines both applicator structures together, thereby making it easy to carry and use.

The pressure-driven control valve is configured into the ink supply passage and includes a stopper end and an elastic part. The elastic part can normally push the stopper end to pressingly meet a narrow opening in the ink supply passage, thus forming a state that the ink is prevented from a flow out. While under pressure, the ink supply passage is opened to make ink flow downward to the pen point for applying or writing.
