Abstract: Provided is an assembly for a nail pen comprising: a) a nib made from a material that is configured to allow for movement of varnish from inside of the nail pen to the nib, and from the nib to a nail; b) a guide made from a material that is non-absorbent to the varnish, the guide extending below a surface of the nib that is configured to apply varnish to the nail; wherein a user applies a strip of the varnish to a distal portion of the nail by holding the guide against an edge of the nail and moving the nail pen along the distal portion of the nail so that the surface of the nib holding the varnish contacts the distal portion of the nail to apply varnish to the nail.

Abstract: Systems and methods according to the present disclosure for assembling conformal arrays utilize an outer tool for insertion into an open cell of a conformal array, an inner tool for insertion into the outer tool, and an adhesive source for delivering adhesive to the edges of the open cell via the inner tool and the outer tool. An assembled conformal array includes adhesive extending along the edges of the open cell.

Abstract: A tile floor adhesive spreader device and method of spreading tile adhesive in a defined pathway comprises a rectangular frame having a first and second set of roller wheels, removable side inserts, a rear trowel blade and a defined railway for guiding the second set of wheels along a straight pathway. The frame is one comprising four side panels having width adjustment, an open interior section for retaining pouring adhesive and upstanding posts for slideably retaining the frame side inserts and allowing the inserts to slide against and follow the subfloor surface. The rear trowel blade is adjustably mounted to the rear of the frame for defining the upper surface of the adhesive aft of the frame, while the first set of wheels rolls along a surface placed over installed tile and the second set of wheels travels along an upstanding portion of an L-shaped guide rail.

Abstract: A paint trimmer with a three-part edging guide includes a paint applicator, a paint distributing manifold and a handle. The three-part edging guide includes a paint mask, a spacer, and a beveled trimmer guide. The three-part edging guide components work together to allow the paint trimmer to create a straight edge of paint along a surface without any extra traditional masking needed to prevent paint from being applied to any unwanted areas.

Abstract: The paint trimmer includes a rigid base and a handle removably attachable to the base. The handle includes a bladder for storing paint. A paint applicator is associated with the base and fluidly coupled to the bladder via a manifold. Accordingly, a user may selectively dispense paint from the bladder to the paint applicator via the manifold for application to a surface to be painted. Different embodiments include the dispensing of cleaning fluid or the delivery of protective barriers onto predetermined portions of the stethoscope heads, while passing along the path of travel. A dispenser assembly and a cooperatively disposed activating assembly are manually operated by moveable, driving engagement with the head portion passing through the housing. The activating assembly is thereby operatively positioned to activate the dispenser assembly when engaged by a head passing along the path of travel. Differently structured dispenser assemblies function to either deliver the cleaning fluid or individually dispense the barriers onto different heads, so as to either facilitate the cleaning or protective covering of exposed surfaces of the stethoscope heads, dependent on the embodiment utilized.

The glue flows through plural vanes or plural transversely positioned openings and passes to form two opposite layers of glue. A dowel applicator applies a thin substantially uniform layer of glue on the wall of a dowel-receiving hole prior to installation of dowel pins.

A tool may be configured to receive, resupply, and/or insert a pattern creating implement. According to one embodiment, in conjunction with an optional cap, a body of a tool may be configured to house a pattern creating implement when it is not in use.

Fixedly mounted to the same shaft are a pair of paddles, formed of blades, which assure the proper shifting and movement of the fluid mortar into position within the housing, for passage out of its lower openings, and onto the transverse lands of the row of blocks as previously applied into the building wall. A diverter is provided within the housing to assure that the fluid mortar flows towards the front of the housing with respect to the direction of its movement when depositing a layer of mortar onto a previously laid row of blocks.

The applicator tip of the invention has an elongated, hollow, rigid plastic body with a pair of laterally projecting wings or flanges between its proximal end which receives the sealant reservoir and its opposite, distal sealant dispensing end. The distal end of the plastic body terminates in a flat face, preferably oriented at an angle of about seventy degrees relative to the alignment of the linear sealant delivery duct formed within the body. A thin, hollow, narrow metal insert is set into the distal end of the body. A keel or fin portion of the metal insert protrudes beyond the flat face and projects into a seam between adjacent sheets of flooring.

Abstract: The present invention is concerned with a method and apparatus for seaming together abutting side-by-side layers of planar material with adhesive and a backing tape to form a finished seam extending along the line of abutment. The method consists of laying a backing tape underneath the line of abutment between adjacent layers of planar material, such as floorcovering, followed by dispensing an adhesive along the edges of the abutting layers while simultaneously centering the backing tape with the line of abutment and dispensing adhesive on top of the backing tape. The edges of the abutting layers are then pressed together and against the backing tape until the adhesive has at least partially set thereby forming a finished seam.

Abstract: A caulking gun includes a tip which enables an adhesive, or other extrudable compound, to be laid down consistently, accurately, and rapidly along a base or base board or other elongated structure. The tip includes at least one guide which extends outside the plane of the surface of an outlet portion of the tip. The guide engages an edge of the base or base board, as the caulking gun is moved along the base or base board, and as the compound is extruded. As long as the guide is firmly engaged with the base or base board, the compound will be laid down consistently in neat, straight lines. In another embodiment, an attachment converts a caulking gun tip of the prior art into one having the essential features of the present invention. The invention enhances the productivity of construction personnel, and improves the quality of work, by virtually insuring that adhesives, or other compounds, are applied consistently and accurately.

Abstract: A device for applying a painted pinstripe to a surface includes a paint applicator having an adaptor for attaching a paint striping wheel head to a low profile paint container. A traveler adjustably coupled to the applicator is moveable along a magnetized flexible guide track in order to control direction of the paint applicator as an annular paint carrying surface of the striping wheel is rolled against the surface being pinstriped. The paint applicator is adjustably positionable on a connecting arm extending from the traveler for controlling and adjusting the distance of the striping wheel relative to the guide track. The paint applicator is also pivotally adjustable relative to the connecting arm and the guide track to accommodate for variations in surface configuration and contour so that the annular surface of the striping wheel is maintained in flat contact with the work surface to produce a uniform painted pinstripe.

Abstract: The present invention 10 discloses a chalkboard cleaning device that is mountable to a conventional chalkboard 12 providing means for selectively cleaning parts thereof. The present invention 10 is comprised of a rail 18 mounted to the top edge of an existing chalkboard 12 having the cleaning apparatus 20 attached thereto and extending from the top to the bottom edge of the board 12. The present invention 10 is comprised of an adjustable frame 30 and sponge 20 which is trimmed at the time of installation to fit the adjusted frame size. The frame 30 has a tensioned 40 rail 18 engaging element 27 for selectively moving the cleaning apparatus 20 to a desired point to be cleaned. Once positioned the apparatus 10 has a pump 26 and fluid containing reservoir 22 in communication with sponge 20 whereby pressure applied to the pump button 48 releases fluid 54 into the body of the sponge 20 whereupon movement of the cleaning apparatus by means of the handle 24 cleans the selected area.

Abstract: A needle foot assembly for a dispensing system includes a needle nut, a rotatable bearing, a friction brake, and an end piece holding the needle foot. The needle foot assembly attaches the needle to a dispensing head of the dispensing system. Rotation of the bearing alters the orientation of the needle foot and needle. The needle foot is removeably attached to the end piece and can be adjusted with respect to height.

Abstract: A flowable media dispensing device is shown that includes a removable sealing device that seals a dispensing opening of the dispensing device when not in use, and is removed to expose the dispensing opening during application of the flowable media. The use of a sealing device permits the user to leave unused media such as drywall joint compound inside the dispensing device when not in use. The time consuming step of cleaning the dispensing device after every use is therefore eliminated. Further, media such as drywall joint compound that would previously have been wasted during the cleaning process is saved, providing more efficient use of the dispensing device.

Abstract: A tool and method for painting pinstripes on vehicles or other objects includes a wheel which cooperates with a paint reservoir. As the wheel is rolled along a surface, the wheel picks up paint from the reservoir and deposits it upon the surface. The wheel has rounded edges to prevent damage to the surface being striped. The tool has a rectangular shape which prevents it from rotating in the hand of the user, and has a slim transverse profile so that a pinstripe may be placed close underneath an obstruction such as a side view mirror. The guide bar of the present invention, which cooperates with a magnetic guide strip, is flat and has a rounded distal end. As such, the guide bar provides a more positive fit in the groove of the magnetic guide strip, and also allows the tool to be turned substantially perpendicular to the surface being striped.

Abstract: A paint striper has a main body having a head portion, an interior cavity, and a slot in fluid communication between the head portion and the interior cavity. The slot is configured for receiving a wheel, and the interior cavity is configured for receiving paint. A wheel is rotatably mounted in the slot with a portion of the wheel extending into the interior cavity. A shoulder extends from the main body, and a guide extends from the shoulder for following a guide track formed in a strip positioned on a surface of the vehicle, wherein the track is substantially parallel to the desired position of the pinstripe. The strip is secured in position on the surface of the vehicle using adhesive which permits removal of the strip from the surface of the vehicle without leaving a residue, and re-use of the strip on a surface of another vehicle.

Abstract: An orbital marking pencil includes a body assembly, a rotator assembly and a rotational support. The body assembly includes a plunger, a main spring and a support spring. A convoluted race is formed on an inner surface of the body assembly. The rotator assembly includes a rotator spring and at least two ball bearings. The rotator spring opens a collet that retains a piece of lead. The ball bearings are received in the convoluted race. The depression of the body assembly in a vertical movement actuates the ball bearings within the convoluted race, thereby rotating the lead in an orbital movement. The support spring provides resistance to return the rotational support to a starting position, the main spring provides resistance for and returns the rotator assembly to a starting position, and the rotator spring provides resistance for and returns the plunger to a starting position.

Abstract: A uniquely designed optical lens tracing pen in conjunction with a specifically designed tracing template to render a consistent method of measure with respect to the outermost ridge of a traced optical lens. The lens is traced utilizing the specifically designed invention pen, and scanned into a software system which retrieves the traced image and plots a lens shape based upon a calculated distance between first color template axis indicators and a second color pen tracing.

Abstract: An applicator for applying fluid or paste product to hair or hair-like objects on a surface comprises a handle, an application member for holding an amount of product and applying the product to the objects, and a shield for covering at least part of the application member to prevent the surface from contacting the application member during the use of the applicator, thereby preventing the surface from being contaminated by the product. The shield has at least one opening configured to allow the hair or hair-like objects to reach the product on the application member, thereby causing the objects to be coated by the product. A product loading system is used to load an amount of product selectively to the application member while leaving the shield substantially free of the product. The loading system has a dosage indicator for showing the user how much product is used for a particular application and a level indicator for showing the user how much product is left.

Abstract: A herbicide applicator assembly (10) includes a liquid applicator (14) in the form of a resiliently compressible, unitary, porous foam mass with a substantially cylindrical applicator surface (20) for applying liquid from a source thereof. The liquid applicator (14) is rotatably mounted. A spacer wheel (30) extends radially beyond the applicator surface (20) to space the applicator surface (20) from any flat surface with which the spacer wheel (30) is engaged. The spacer wheel (30) is in fixed connection with a bush (52) with the liquid applicator (14) seated on the external periphery of the bush (52). The liquid applicator (14) is attached to the spacer wheel (30) to rotate in unison with the spacer wheel (30). The liquid applicator (14) is provided with an external edge (42) defined between the substantially cylindrical applicator surface (20) and an end surface (40) of the applicator (14).

Abstract: An adhesive dispenser includes a dispenser body having a reservoir containing an adhesive, and a tip. The tip has a guide member that extends in a first direction away from the body and is shaped to fit within a groove of a grooved flooring plank. The guide member has opposing top and bottom surfaces and opposing end surfaces. An orifice is in communication with a conduit that opens into said reservoir. An elongated channel intersects the top surface of the guide member and extends in a second direction that is substantially perpendicular to the first direction. The elongated channel has a sidewall and the orifice includes an opening that is at least partially formed in the sidewall. A method of applying adhesive into the groove of a grooved flooring plank includes the steps of inserting the guide member into the groove of a grooved flooring plank, and expelling adhesive from the reservoir though the orifice.

Abstract: A pen point for a marking pen having a pen tip which includes a base portion formed by bundling polyester-type synthetic fibers having a fiber diameter of denier between about 1 and about 10, dipping the bundle in a synthetic resin adhesive and drying and solidifying the bundle. The resulting bundle is molded into a knife cut shape and integrally coated, together with the base portion, with a coating member formed of a thermoplastic synthetic resin, the thickness of said coating member being between about 0.01 and about 2.00 mm. In the present invention, the tip of the pen point for the marking pen is coated with a coating member formed of a thermoplastic synthetic resin such as polyethylene, polypropylene, polyacetal or vinyl chloride, whereby the side surfaces in which the ink in the pen point is soaked are not exposed.

Abstract: The invention is an applicator and process used to fill in the edges of composite panels with resin or emulsions. The applicator is attached to a source of resin that forces the resin through the applicator's delivery channel, into a space between the applicator's spatula and the panel's edge. The sidewalls of the applicator guide the applicator along the edge of the panel as it is drawn along to fill the edge and also to prevent spill over. The underside of the main body of the applicator aft of the delivery channel is a spatula that tapers toward the panel's edge and acts to smooth the resin into and flush with the panel's sidewalls. A finger guide allows the applicator to work using finger pressure. The applicator is drawn along with the hands, and where the leading edge of the applicator body rests on the panel there is a rounded lip to allow the applicator to traverse smoothly over roughness and imperfections on the panel's edge.

Abstract: A crown or holder that is adapted for supporting a bingo dauber in a vertical marking position. The crown is twisted onto the end of the bingo dauber with the marking tip. The crown is adapted to receive the dauber in such a manner that when the crown is placed on a bingo card, the dauber is vertically disposed and the marking tip of the dauber is disposed just above the bingo card. A bingo player simply aligns the crown with a number and presses down on the dauber to mark the number imprinted on the bingo card below.

Abstract: An improved piggyback dispensing feature for extended dispensing devices of tile type having a housing with a downwardly extending handle, a trigger pivoted to the handle, an extension bracket attached forwardly of the housing, a barrel assembly attached to the extension bracket opposite the housing, and a piston rod slidably supported in the housing and extension bracket and protruding into the barrel assembly. The improvement comprises an interchangeable push-disk piston mounted on the distal end of the piston rod, and a smaller barrel assembly adapted to be seated inside the other larger barrel assembly to accommodate a smaller-sized cartridge. The smaller barrel assembly piggybacks in the larger, and the push-disk piston swaps out, thereby making it possible to use one extended gun for at least two different-sized cartridges, such as the typical ¼ gallon cartridges and {fraction (1/10)}th gallon cartridges.

Abstract: A system and method for delivering mortar to blocks or bricks used for forming a wall. The system includes a pressurized tank which is used for receiving and dispensing the mortar at an elevated pressure. A delivery hose is attached to the tank. The delivery hose serves for carrying the mortar from the pressurized tank to a desired location. A bifurcated nozzle having an inlet and a pair of outlets is used for concurrent delivery of the mortar. The nozzle is attached to the delivery hose. The inlet of the nozzle is in fluid communication with the delivery hose. The mortar is delivered from the pressurized tank through the hose and then discharged as a plurality of streams or beads of mortar from the outlets of the nozzle onto the block used for forming the wall. The streams of mortar are placed on the ends and opposite edges of the side face of the block. Each block is placed end to end next to each other forming a first course of blocks.

Abstract: A wide faced applicator adapted for various kinds of fluids having a main body with a flat face on both sides of the front axis to form a narrow attachment face, the axis of the main body from top to bottom forms a multiple funnel shaped axial hole in which a pin shaped core body is inserted, the core body is spring biased so that the shoulder portion on the front end of the core body contacts tightly against the funnel shaped axial hole on the front axial end of the main body to form a closed position. A guiding orifice is provided on the wide attachment face at the front end of the closed segment. By pressing the front end of the core body, the fluid in the container tank is released to flow through a guiding orifice and further permeate into the attachment face. The front end of the pin shaped core body forms a plane with rounded angles.
