  • Patent number: 9409096
Abstract: The present embodiments provide an adjustable toe suspension arm for a vehicle. The suspension arm includes a main suspension bracket coupled to the vehicle's chassis. An outer swing bracket is pivotably coupled to the main suspension bracket. An adjustment mechanism is coupled to the main suspension bracket. A sliding nut is coupled to the adjustment mechanism. A portion of the sliding nut is contact with the outer swing bracket. When the adjustment mechanism is manipulated, the sliding nut moves to rotate the outer swing bracket with respect to the main suspension bracket.

  • Patent number: 6322322
Abstract: A high temperature repairable airfoil having a plurality of flow path cover tiles coupled to a single crystal spar member. In one embodiment, the plurality of flow path cover tiles include an attachment portion that is received within a groove formed in the outer surface of the spar. The attachment portion slides into a retaining feature within the groove so as to limit movement of the plurality of flow path cover tiles. Upon rotation of the airfoil, the plurality of flow path cover tiles become centrifugally loaded with a portion of the spar member. In one embodiment, the plurality of flow path cover tiles are formed of a material selected from the group consisting of ceramics, intermetallic, and thermal barrier coated single crystal alloy material.

  • Patent number: 6115068
Abstract: This invention provides an image input apparatus which allows easy positioning between an original and a camera head and can improve operability in a document photographing mode. The apparatus has a camera head arranged at the distal end side of columns coupled via a plurality of joint portions, a signal processing unit incorporated in a base of the apparatus main body that supports the proximal end side of the columns, and a cable which is arranged along the columns and connects the camera head and the signal processing unit. When an image signal is input from the camera head to the signal processing unit, the optical axis direction of the camera head and its angle about the optical axis are adjustable via the joint portions. The camera has a lens portion which allows a rotation operation, and an index that can indicate its rotation state is at an appropriate position on the outer surface of the lens portion. The column is supported by the base via a third joint portion.

  • Patent number: 5957424
Abstract: A device for the vertical arrangement of a pole or post-like object is disclosed. A securing device is disposed at the ground end and includes a substantially cylindrical, elongated mounting mandrel which projects upwards from the free upper side of the securing device. This mandrel can be inserted into an accommodating bore in the underside of the pole or post-like object. A support plate on which the underside of the pole or post-like object rests, has at least one securing projection that protrudes upwards from the support plate and penetrates the material of the pole or post-like object. The mounting mandrel is substantially thinner than the accommodating bore in the underside of the pole or post-like object such that a play is provided between the outer periphery of the mounting mandrel and the inner circumferential area of the accommodating bore seen substantially over the entire axial extension of the mounting mandrel.

  • Patent number: 5946186
Abstract: A latch apparatus for a docking station includes a first member connected to a pivot connection on a base portion of the docking station and a second member connected to the first member. The second member is substantially curved so as to form a mechanical moment. A third member is connected to the second member and to a lever. the latch apparatus is operable to decrease an initial rest angle between the first member and the base portion of the docking station and thereby substantially reduce lateral friction forces which develop when the base portion of the docking station is moving laterally. The latch apparatus is further provides mechanical advantage via the mechanical moment which decreases the amount of force required to be applied to the lever to accomplish a given amount of work.

  • Patent number: 5921697
Abstract: A latch apparatus and attachment system for a docking station, with improved ease of closure and a connection lock capability, includes multiple connected latch members; a first of which is connected to a moveable base portion of the docking station; a second of which is substantially curved to form a mechanical moment; and a third of which is connected to a lever separate from the base portion. The multiple member latch apparatus and attachment system decreases an initial rest angle between the first member and the base portion of the docking station, which reduces lateral friction forces as the base portion of the docking station moves laterally. The curved member of the latch apparatus and attachment system improves efficiency of operation via the mechanical moment which decreases an amount of necessary force applied to the lever to accomplish a given amount of work.

  • Patent number: 5620054
Abstract: An adjustable hitch having a body, the body connected to a first vehicle at a central point about which the body is rotatable. The body also includes a radially offset connecting point at which the body is rotatably connected to a second vehicle. The rotatable connections of the body to the first and second vehicles accomodates vertical offset between one or more links connecting the vehicle. The arc of rotation of the body may limited by a pair of protruding stops.

  • Patent number: 5560728
Abstract: A device for precisely positioning and locking an object in a selective position including a first arm, a second arm, a third arm and a fourth arm, as well as an L-shaped arm connecting the third and fourth arms. The arms are structured so as to movably connect a support for an object, such as a head rest, to a base member, such as an operating table. The arms are structured so as to slidably engage with one another in order to allow positioning of the support for the object in any desired position in a three dimensional space. The first arm is slidably mounted to a connection to the base member.
