  • Publication number: 20090108037
Abstract: A carrying assembly for devices, e.g. electronic devices, and appliances. The assembly is defined by a housing and engaging element (e.g., a button), a pin, and a carrying solution. The button has latching legs and defines a cavity. The pin is engageable with the button through insertion in the cavity. The carrying solution is a base element with a housing slot for the legs upon insertion of the button into the base element. Snapping engagement between the legs and housing slot and between the pin and the button occurs. The legs can be snappingly disengaged from the carrying solution. The pin can be rotationally disengaged from the button. The carrying assembly can be connected to a holster on one side and to a belt clip on the other side, forming an advantageous solution for the user.

Each inner collar forms a circular race encircling the cable. An outer collar attached to an external device rotatably receives the inner collar and the encircled streamer in its bore to allow the streamer to rotate freely within the outer collar relative to the external device. The outer collar has an inner face bounding and defining the shape of the bore. The inner face is tapered from an intermediate position outward toward front and rear edges of the outer collar to form a bore that is wider at the front and rear edges than at the intermediate position. Abstract: In the aerospace field spacecraft components are held together by separation systems until a specific time when they must be separated or deployed. Customarily a threaded joining bolt engages one of the components to be joined, and a threaded nut is placed on that bolt against the other component so they can be drawn together by a releasable locking assembly. The releasable locking assembly herein includes a plunger having one end coupled to one end of a plunger bolt. The other end is flanged to abut and compress a coil spring when the plunger is advanced toward the interface plane between the two components. When the plunger is so advanced toward the interface plane, the end of the plunger bolt can be connected to the joining bolt. Thus during retraction the joining bolt is drawn to one side of the interface plane by the force of the expanding spring.

Abstract: A platform scale cover is reinforced with one or more scale mats formed of a fiber filled polyester thermoset plastic material (FFP). The mats can be securely and rigidly fixed to scale covers using conventional mechanical fasteners. The FFP can be molded with textures, colors and grain patterns which closely simulate natural materials such as marble, granite and other stone and brick type materials. Sturdy mountings can be molded on the mats to facilitate mounting the mat to a scale platform.

Abstract: A fastener assembly is provided that permits the quick connection and disconnection of various objects, including stowage bins. The fastener assembly includes a tubular connector for engaging a pin. The tubular connector may define a keyhole having a head end and a slot extending circumferentially from the head end. The head end is sized to receive an end portion of the pin and the slot has a width selected to engage the end portion of the pin. Thus, the end portion of the pin may be inserted through the head end and the tubular connector may then be rotated such that the end portion of the pin is engaged within the slot.

Abstract: The invention relaters to a wiper arrangement (10) for the windscreen (30) of a motor vehicle comprising a screwless securing device (72), which enables the inventive arrangement to be attached to a vehicle. Said securing device (72) comprises at least three securing members (32, 34, 36) arranged at a distance from each other, whereby two (32, 34) are situated on a connecting line. The third securing member (36) is arranged at a distance from the connecting line. The securing device (72) also comprises appropriate receiving devices (66, 68, 70) with which the securing members (32, 34, 36) can engage. According to the invention, the securing direction (74) of at least one securing member (32, 34, 36) and the corresponding receiving devices (66) is orientated in a substantially parallel position to the transversal extension of the windscreen (48) in order to receive moments occurring while the wiper arrangement is in operation in an optimum manner.

  • Patent number: 6705794
Abstract: Forms for display of clothing and the like with magnetically attachable parts are provided. The magnetic joints comprise a magnetic assembly with a depth-of-pull sufficient to cause the attachable part to begin to pull toward the form at a distance preferably greater than one-half inch, preferably about one inch. Preferably the magnetic assembly has a depth-of-pull of at least about 120 gauss at a distance of one inch. A metallic plate is arranged in mating configuration with the magnetic assembly. Mating pins may be provided, as well as indexing pins. If the manikin is knocked over, or if the attached part is pulled or bumped, it will come loose rather than breaking off; and the mating parts are self-seeking in use, so that they will come together in proper orientation even when being mated beneath clothes. A bump to the manikin sufficient to overcome the on-contact strength of the magnetic attachment may not result in detachment of the limb because of the depth-of-pull strength of the magnetic assembly.

Abstract: The present invention is an interface between a piece of baggage and a preconcentrator. The baggage-preconcentrator interface is able be secured to the opening in the baggage, such as an opening created by a zipper. The baggage-preconcentrator interface provides a convenient entry point from which to extract air from the interior of baggage. The shape of such interface corresponds to that of the preconcentrator, which collects constituents of air. The preconcentrator is inserted into the baggage-preconcentrator interface and an air sample is extracted from the interior of the baggage and through both the interface and the preconcentrator. As the air is extracted, the constituents of air collect in the preconcentrator. After collecting the constituents, the preconcentrator is inserted into a testing unit capable of detecting trace amounts of explosives, such as an ion trap mobility spectrometer. The testing unit analyzes the constituents and determines whether any of them are explosive.
