Rigid Angle Patents (Class 403/382)
  • Patent number: 4352588
Abstract: A rail and stile member of a wood frame is joined at a curvilinear edge at abutting facial surfaces. In a number of embodiments the members have a tenon and mortise connection behind the curvilinear edge. In one embodiment a three piece joint is formed with curvilinear edges at each pair of abutting facial surfaces. The method of forming the joint includes the forming of a guide template having the desired configuration but displaced from the joint line and cutting of the rail and stile with a router tool of a preselected bit size.

  • Patent number: 4057356
Abstract: The corner-joint or the angular joint of oblong elements formed of a glueable material preferably wood is provided. A block is inserted in the corner and a joining surface of the block and the elements to be joined is provided with intermeshing tongues and grooves preferably of the finger-type form in their longitudinal direction a segment of a circle about an axis perpendicular to the plane of the joint elements. The matching fingers are glued together. The joint of this invention may be used for instance in a lattice girder and especially in frames for furniture. Further by a simple provision it will be possible to obtain a three-dimensional joint by adding a third element extending in the direction perpendicular to the plane of said two elements.

  • Patent number: 4025215
Abstract: In a corner joint construction of the dovetail type, the tenons and mortises on each wall at the end portion extend only partially through the thickness of the walls commencing at the inner portion thereof. The remaining or outer portion of the wall thickness is mitered from the termination of the tenons and mortises outwardly to form abutting, solid end portions which conceal the tenons and mortises therebehind.

  • Patent number: 4018437
Abstract: Exercising apparatus having a frame made of detachably, telescopically coupled tubular members. Connected to the top most cross member of the frame is a substantially rigid spring member that extends between and removably connects the frame with a door. The substantially rigid spring member includes two parallel spaced arms. At the opposite end of the member are two longitudinally spaced elements that engage respectively the front surface of a door, the top of the door and the upper back surface of a door. With the substantially rigid spring member in place for use by an exerciser the frame will be spaced from the top of the door.

  • Patent number: 3981249
Abstract: A load bearing two-way pallet fabricated as a permanent piece of hardware from tubular members integrally joined with transverse load bars embraced and enclosed by support rails. A common tube cross section is employed throughout with intermediate notching that reinforces complimentary engagement of one notched member with the other, and with end notching that reinforces the terminal ends of the tube members that are engaged with an embracing tube member. A feature is the method of manufacture wherein a rectangular and planar ladder-form is initially fabricated and the members thereof interjoined, followed by bending reformation of the rail members thereof so as to establish upwardly open transversely disposed channels for the reception of lifting forks, and openings beneath raised load bearing bars so as to receive the longitudinal insertion of lifting forks.
