Connected By Double Clamp Patents (Class 403/385)
  • Patent number: 4032245
Abstract: An agricultural equipment clamp comprising a clamp body and a cooperating cap which are cast from a lightweight aluminum alloy. The body and cap each include V-shaped notches for seating a tool bar therebetween. The body comprises a pair of spaced parallel side plates between which a tool shank is positionable. The base of the spaced plates are connected by an integrally formed block which has a pair of bolt-receiving apertures formed at the respective ends thereof which align with cooperating apertures formed in the clamp cap for securing the clamp to the tool bar. The head of the pair of bolts serve as the means for seating the tool shank. The top of the spaced plates are connected by an integrally formed connecting block which has a set screw positioned therethrough for urging the tool shank against the spaced seats. A nut-receiving slot is integrally formed in the top connecting block and includes means for automatically aligning a nut to threadingly receive the setscrew therethrough.

  • Patent number: 3951372
Abstract: There is described a three dimensional clamp for holding a plurality of rod-like elements in various relative positions and angles. The clamp body has two opposed clamping sections aligned along a longitudinal axis and joined by an obliquely extending intermediate section or strip. The two opposed clamping sections have respective tongues extending along opposite sides of the intermediate strip but normally slightly spaced from the strip so that a clamping screw passing through both tongues and the intermediate strip draws the tongues toward each other and toward the strip, thereby reducing or warping the dimensions of the bore or hole in which the respective rod-like elements are inserted. In one embodiment the hole for one of the elements is fitted with a thimble rotatable in the hole which actually receives the element. When the clamping screw is tightened, the rod-like elements are gripped, one of them being gripped by the thimble.

  • Patent number: 3937451
Abstract: A holder includes a first clamp and a second clamp, the first clamp having a first extension and the second clamp having a second extension, and gripping means having an opening defined therein for receiving the first and second extensions. The opening within the gripping means is of variable size so as to permit rotation of the first and second clamps when the opening is not constricted and to prevent rotation of either the first or second clamps when the opening is constricted, means also being provided to vary the size of the opening within the gripper means. Frictionless washers are interposed between the gripping means and the clamps and the extensions are spaced from each other, even when assembled, so as to facilitate the angular adjustment of the clamps and the workpieces held thereby, the stable support of the device nevertheless being maintained due to the interaction between the gripping means and the clamp extensions.
