  • Patent number: 8672578
Abstract: The invention relates to a luminescent paving stone in the form of an artificial stone or a natural stone, having at least one self-sufficient luminescent element (22) and a stone body (20). The stone body (20) comprises at least one recess (24) extending from a top side (54) to a bottom side (56) and designed for receiving a luminescent element (22). The luminescent element (22) receives electrical components (36), in particular a photovoltaic cell (38), a charge store (40), a control device (42), and a luminous element (44), and has a length no greater than the depth of the recess (24). The recess (24) has a perforated wall, and a peripheral gap (58) is formed between the perforated wall and the side wall, in which an adhesive mass (26) is present.

  • Patent number: 7556394
Abstract: A paver light having a masonry structure with an aperture and a lighting fixture positioned within the aperture of the masonry structure. The lighting fixture includes a support member with an internal cavity and a first locking member, an electrical socket removably received within the cavity of the support member, and a modular light assembly having a light source and a second locking member that is releasably enagable with the first locking member in response to the relative rotation of the first and second locking members. The modular light assembly is removably mounted to the support member by the first and second locking members, and is releasably connected to the socket such that the socket is removed from the cavity of the support member as the modular light assembly is removed from the support member.

  • Patent number: 7070294
Abstract: A paver light having a masonry structure with an aperture that has a substantially constant diameter from an exterior surface to an interior surface of the masonry structure, and a lighting fixture positioned within the aperture of the masonry structure. The lighting fixture includes a support member with an internal cavity, an electrical socket removably received within the cavity of the support member, and a modular light assembly removably mounted to the support member. The modular light assembly is releasably connected to the socket such that the socket is removed from the cavity of the support member as the modular light assembly is removed from the support member. Upon removal of the modular light assembly from the support member, the modular light assembly can be disconnected from the socket for the purposes of repair or replacement externally of the masonry structure.

  • Patent number: 4779324
Abstract: Methods are set forth for fabricating a concrete panel with embedded glass block. According to the invention the panel form includes at least one partially anchorable support form, i.e., a support form having an anchorable portion and a removable, nonanchorable portion. After concrete is poured into the panel form and hardened, the nonanchorable portion of the support form is removed. A noncementitious band (or collar), of which the anchored portion of the support form is comprised, remains. The glass block is then inserted within this band. According to the preferred embodiment of the invention a rubber seal may be inserted between the glass and noncementitious surface to both waterproof the panel and cushion the block to improve the completed panel's ability to be handled and transported without damage. Furthermore, the invention teaches utilizing the support form to create at least one support lip. Each lip may be formed as part of the anchored band or as part of the formed concrete panel.
